    Today we'll be taking a look at the #FutureBit #Moonlander 2 #USBMiner for #scrypt. I've talked critical about Bitmain dropping L3+s very cheaoply, so please don't go out and buy the first Moonlander you see. There are a lot of expensive re-sellers and difficulty has gone up a lot. But I think it is a good thing for learning mining in itself and a great little machine, not only for Litecoin.

    I am buying one new for R400 so that's about $30 and busy writing an essay on bitcoin mining. Very excited to learn the practical side of this as I am a student

    So if I enter in my light coin address how do I receive dodge is there a place for another wallet address ?

    • @CursedMining
      @CursedMining  3 года назад

      each pool handles dodge differently. In the example here, Litecoinool sells everything merge mined for LTC :) so if you want Doge payouts you gotta choose another pool

    I enjoyed your video. I have ordered a moonlander. What's the max number you can run on a laptop? What are the advantages of running it on a raspberry pi?

    • @CursedMining
      @CursedMining  6 лет назад +1

      Very glad you like it Simon! So on the normal USB slot on your laptop you probably won't be able to tweak them too much, so I'd definitely recommend to use a USBhub - also to be safe I'd still check how hot they get on the normal slot. So there is no real advantage to run them on a PI (when your laptop would be running anyway for another reason), only that they cost very little power.

      we just had a halving on LTC (that means rewards halfed) - so we are talking cents with the small moonlanders :/ cheers ⛏️

    Cool video bro! I got 5nos, n its hashing only around 3.15mhs-3.60mhs. I tried changing the bfg miner frequencies n still no difference. Even tried tweaking the core voltage, but then it shows around 19%hw errors. So, I just set up everything back to Normal.
    Could you kindly help me with some tips on making them hash atleast 4.5mhs?

    why my moonlander 2 is mining in bytes/s?

    • @CursedMining
      @CursedMining  6 лет назад +1

      Hey friend! It should be mh/s or h/s - did you check on pool side where you connected to?

    • @jtaveras21
      @jtaveras21 6 лет назад +1

      yeah, i got it now, but it doesn't stay on 3.3mh/s all the time, it goes down to kh/s or it doesn't mine at all

    • @CursedMining
      @CursedMining  6 лет назад +1

      this could have different reasons, maybe network problems? It can also relate to the type of USB hub it is powered with, did you try USB 3.0 which is powered externally?

    • @jtaveras21
      @jtaveras21 6 лет назад +1

      It mined for a solid 17hours, but for some reason, my moonlander 2 went idle! do you have any suggestion about it?

    • @CursedMining
      @CursedMining  6 лет назад +1

      what is it connected to? Laptop, Raspberry Pi? Maybe controller goes in idle mode. Please check virtual memory of your PC, maybe need to increase (16.000mb)

    a great first miner for people, I wish more companies made small efficient miners, people shouldn't have to shell out 100's and 100's of dollars to participate and help the system become even more decentralized

      we are talking about glorious 2 cents per day =D ~ 0.0002 LTC

    • @Marz78963
      @Marz78963 5 лет назад +2

      Yep, for 2 moonlanders about 2 cents a day. I have 2 of them as well, clocked at 648 and tweaked the voltage to 0.725 (using a multimeter) on both sticks. They came shipped at 0.698 for me. At the current rate mining DigiByte (scrypt) I get between 3.5 - 4 coins a day at 7.52Mh/s combined. Doing this for fun so mining some of these DB coins and going to hold onto them. I also have 4 Gekko newpac's and those are pointed at Litecoin Cash and netting a combined 272.1 Gh/s with a mild overclock (300MHz) all attached to a Raspberry pi 3 B + and for a usb hub, a 10 port BrovSS 2.0 hub. It maintains enough current power with these usb miners at the current overclocks. I begin experiencing all kinds of issues when I go higher. But comfortable with my current setup. Cheap on power usage so something I can keep running and forget about.

    I bet you'd eventually find a block solo mining and since it costs next to nothing to run even if it takes a year who cares lol I have 1 so far and will be buying another just to solo with.

    • @CursedMining
      @CursedMining  6 лет назад

      That werte my first thoughts too, set and forget on Solo for a coin of my choice and see what happens =D you are thinking LTC or smaller projects?

    • @chrisfontaine6221
      @chrisfontaine6221 6 лет назад +1

      Well the pool I mine for Trollcoin on usually only has 1 other miner on, but a lot of the time it's just me with the 4 mh Futurebit. It's network is usually at 5,000 mh - 15,000 mh and I usually find at least 1 block a day, the other day I found 3... so I'm thinking LTC would hit eventually, most people would run out of patience with in the first 6 months I bet. lol
