The calm guitar part with the solo at 8:26 represents the high your addiction/drug gives you. The chaotic part at 9:40 represents your feelings when coming down off it. The part at 10:03 represents your desperation for more and the chaotic sober feelings of understanding that addiction has won.
Most Metal lyrics are allegorical, so the more you hear the song, the more you'll understand it's meaning. What sounds like the music missing a beat is a time signatures change, meant to add complexity.

That "Vibe" part you mentioned is the subject getting high, then when the drums kick in it's the high effect going away then comes the regret. Keep in mind that the 2 first parts of the song is the story being told from the perspective of the drug.

Metallica is musical geniuses. Everything they do in the song is on purpose. The song is chaotic because the topic is chaotic. It’s being told in the eyes of the drug. Some parts of the song sound warped and off beat because the victims life is off beat and warped due to drugs. The bridge of the song represents how drugs make you feel in the moment but after it wears off you’re left feeling down and paranoid and craving that next hit.

Yeah, it isnt so much missing a beat as the riff includes a push beat. Some guys did a video on it and figured out that the drummer has to play a 8/32 timed hit to bridge it to the chorus.

The song is skipping a beat, technically. I think it’s off by a measure of 1/32 due to the odd timing of the rhythm guitar fills during the verses. The main riff is obviously perfectly 4/4 but the structure of the music under James’ vocals loses a beat twice during each verse for 3 verses. I remember learning how to play this song as a kid and it just seemed impossible. It seemed like something only Metallica could make sound great.

WHY are there any or really few africans playing hard metal or even heavy rock or rock ? Its a pure neutral ? Because I am curious ? I have a huge collection of metal and especial xtreme metal. I think there is a black person in for example Cannibal Corpse ... but otherwise there is a big lack of metal from blacks, browns, arabs and other worldvise ... WHY ?? Lately I have bought LPs from a chinese band called Tassi with a high level of depressive metal. BUT where is the metal from Africa, Middle East and even the negro population from USA ?
