I'm confused by the fact that you skipped over one of the biggest sign that this isn't really BDSM, his treatment of her her first time.(note:I have not read the book nor seen the movie, and am not into BDSM myself, so this is all gathered from people who have seen/read the story and/or are into the whole dom/sub thing) He apparently is getting ready to take her virginity, and she decides she doesn't want it. Even though she says NO and wants to stop, he goes ahead and takes her anyways. This is a BIG no no in the BDSM community(from what my communications tell me). Safe words are there for a reason, namely that this is supposed to be pleasurable. If the person says that word, it has gone too far. At this point, the dominant will undo the restraints and comfort the sub, sometimes even apologizing for having gone so far. In Fifty Shades of F*cked up, he keeps going, and doesn't even care what he's done. So no, this is no longer BDSM, it's rape. flat out.

Omfg u right. I don't wanna admit it but u right. They do really love each other and their family tho, so they're really fucking wholesome despite all the living fossils and hairball cousins.
You really see how cult-like it gets when there's the ex stalking Anna, she kneels when Christian demands it, like a robot. The author of these books needs some serious help if she thinks this kind of relationship is at all romantic.
I noticed that a vast majority of the women who enjoyed it were middle aged. Honestly I don't know how true this is, but it might've been that they grew up in an era where abuse was more normalized and a man beating a woman was just seen as him 'being a man'. I'm a woman myself and the fact that this series actually got popular is really worrying me. I knew a man just as manipulative as Christian. The only difference was he wasn't rich.
Even as a naive, impressionable, and undeniably “romantically oriented” 16/17 year old I knew this story was creepy, abusive bullshit and not at all what real BDSM is. Now every time the name of it is even mentioned I shudder in disgust at 1) the way people, specifically women romanticize this under the guise that it’s healthy and 2) for those who do realize how BS it is, the way that they now think this is what BDSM actually is. Yeah, I’m still mad about it in 2021 and I will die mad about it.
I remember watching it thinking it was going to be a dramatic love story but omg it was literally just abuse and I was like “WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE THIS!?l” it was just sad.
Most of my girl friends went to watch this movie, some even read the book, some of them said and I quote "I want a Christian Grey for myself". I'm just like "What the fuck is wrong with you people?"
Because you maybe don't know the end of the story. Christian hurts Ana very bad once and then she left him, then he realize he is in love with her and can't be violent if he wants to stay with her. So they get back together as a real couple, and Christian became respectful to Ana's limits (which are not that sweat). Their love grows and grows with a loooooot of incredibly romantic actions and discussions from both of them, they married and then have children. Of course, I would like a Christian for myself, a guy who is maybe messed up because he was so maltreated as a child, but who gives up all is life because he can't have both me and it, who saves my life, makes me discover myself and grow up, and who is a billionaire so he could buy me anything and makes me travel everywhere looking at me like I was the most beautiful star in the night sky. It's a ROMANCE STORY, between a young romantic girl and a messed up guy.
As a part of the bdsm community I can’t remember any of my friends in the community including me liking 50 shades of grey Bc the first rule of bdsm is the two people being comfortable, trusting each other and setting boundaries
There’s also you know,,,, actual sexual assault scenes in the book. Literally like she says no multiple times. That’s both a sin, and not a theory. The whole series glorifies abuse

Anyone who thinks they can't be, are perfect targets for cults because they have no wariness or guard. They just assume they're above psychology. And no one, is above psychology. Ironically, those who think they can't be indoctrinated into cults, would end up being some of the strongest believers who would commit horrible deeds
The fact that this movie is widely considered to be "romantic" and "relationship goals" explains why so many people have so many bad/failed relationships. A large plurality of people don't even know what a healthy relationship looks like, let alone how to have one.
The thing is, there are plenty of Kinky Submissives that would be completely down to being in that dungeon too. As someone who is really into BDSM, I'm so angry that this story is the most famous BDSM based story in the world. It isn't only bad written, it gives a fake and gross image of what BDSM truly is. Then 365DNI had to come in the equation as well and it made things so fucking worse.
The big problem with 50 Shades isn't even that it's a dark, abusive, cultlike portrayal of a rape kink style ravishment fantasy, it's that the general public/audience and even the author herself don't recognize it as that; a FANTASY. The plot of these films and books is totally normal to think or fantasize about, or even roleplay through in consenting BDSM-handbook-approved environments where safety nets like safewords, pre-negotiated scripts, ongoing consent, and aftercare are present. The issue is that this fantasy becomes dangerous very quickly when the person or people acting it out aren't aware that it's meant to be a daydream, or at the absolute most, a controlled LARP style BDSM scene. The lack of understanding of human sexuality and how our minds process things like fantasy and sexual themes we perceive as dangerous or thrilling leads to people thinking that they or their partner actually wants these extremes in real life, and that's very dangerous when abusers, manipulators, or uninformed doms who just don't know enough to be safe get into dynamics with subs who don't understand that wanting to play pretend doesn't mean wanting to live it out.
People find this romantic? It doesn't even take a film theory to realized this movie is disturbing and Christan is a manipulative and abusive psychopath.
Vladimir Vladimirovich Nabokov wrote porn tales as well but his words showed excellent level of literature in any language,EJ James is a hybrid of human and poodle.
The moment someone tries to force me into doing something I am very obviously uncomfortable with, I’m out. I make my boundaries and the consequences of crossing them VERY clear at the beginning of a relationship because I do not want to end up in this mess.

Honestly, 50 shades could have been so good. If Anna realized that she enjoyed BDSM, but that the way Christian did it was abusive and she left him in the end to find a dom who would actually treat her well.
WereDragonChild No, I mean who doesn't have sharks getting thrown around by tornadoes in front of their door... (yes, I am sarcastic, though for what it's worth sharknado 1-4 are a billion times better than 50 shades)
i've never seen this movie but from the clips i've seen in this video, i hate it. it's clearly trying to romanticise emotional abuse and manipulative behaviour, and it succeeded apparently considering that even some of my friends think it's a beautiful love story. BDSM and the kink community isn't all about non-con and "obeying your master". Anna is clearly not into the stuff that Grey is and whenever he's being like "nO bUt ThAtS hOt" honey that's not some secretly kinky guy that is a predator. i hope ppl irl take this movie as a lesson that if u meet someone in the BDSM scene and anytime u say ur genuienly not comfortable with something and they just start being like "but ur my submissive :(( ur meant to please me :(((" u need to get outta there edit: "i have rules. if you follow them, i'll reward you. if you don't, i'll punish you" is what a dominant would say to their submissive AFTER THEY HAVE ALREADY SET BOUNDARIES AND MADE IT CLEAR THEY'RE BOTH READY AND INTO IT. Anna in that scene is literally telling him she's not into all that, it's been like what a minute since he introduced the whole kinky room to her, and yet he's acting like they're just doing a dom x sub roleplay??? this movie is not about a BDSM relationship, it's about an abusive one
I knew that Fifty Shades was a fanfic of Twilight. Both are abusive, manipulative. What actually makes Fifty Shades worse is that, as this video poses, he is using cult tactics. I remember watching this with some friends when I was 13, and I didn't really care for it, so I turned my attention to other things. Someone I know said they wanted a red room with their s/o, and I knew what this person meant, but nearing my 20s, I can't help but see the destruction of romanticizing toxic relationships. Thank the Lord He is breaking me of that
I hate that this was so many people's introduction to BDSM. Take it from me, an actual Sub, THIS IS ABUSE. A written contract is in no way consent. Consent is always taken on a moment by moment basis, especially in scenes where injury (both physical and emotional) are a high risk. The depth of communication involved necessitates it's own jargon. A "safe word" is just the beginning.
It's because of how many romance novels follow this script. The Notebook, one of the most famous romance novels and movies, has the main guy hang from a ferris wheel threatening to let go if she doesn't agree to a date!

You really see how cult-like it gets when there's the ex stalking Anna, she kneels when Christian demands it, like a robot. The author of these books needs some serious help if she thinks this kind of relationship is at all romantic.

Fifty shades of gray is a classic example of an abusive manipulative relationship and it worries me that so many people find this movie romantic
same here dud
Bad for them.
Maybe it’s because this type of relationship is normalized due to them going through the same type of abuse? Cuz it’s highly likely. 😞
Please if this romantic then Joker and Harley Quinn are meant to be eternal lovers.
Is no one gonna comment on the fact that he went:

Most of my girl friends went to watch this movie, some even read the book, some of them said and I quote "I want a Christian Grey for myself". I'm just like "What the fuck is wrong with you people?"
Most of my girl friends know that the book and movie are bad and messed up. Lucky me, I guess.
Scary, isn't it?
Most of my girl friends, are non existent. Most of my girl friends, I barely know.
answer is simple - cause main hero is freaking hot and very rich .If he was broke pervert...sorry it would be different story :p
BDSM rules include safe words to protect the Sub and never pushers her or him too far
And encourages victims to stay...

But he doesn't look for them because he knows that they're more aware of how this stuff goes and are less likely to be manipulated by him. If you're already in the kink scene then you're more likely to be aware of how to play safely.

Can't be too careful out there. I've also studied lots of psychology but this video helped make it even more clear what to watch out for.
sadly nothing can save you from getting harmed, even if you know that stuff. especially if someone is young. it just makes me so fucking angry.
Did he try to make you sign a contract?
You're lucky to avoid it. Someone also tried this on me and I fell for it. I previously didn't know anything about BDSM or anything relating to it, so doesn't know I was supposed to stay away from it. Luckily, before I got completely got lost, my dad checked my phone and immediately told me to stay away. Honestly, I really hate it when people look into my phone without permission, but this time I couldn't be more grateful.

This makes fighting the nameless king look like a pat on the back from your homies
i've never seen this movie but from the clips i've seen in this video, i hate it. it's clearly trying to romanticise emotional abuse and manipulative behaviour, and it succeeded apparently considering that even some of my friends think it's a beautiful love story. BDSM and the kink community isn't all about non-con and "obeying your master". Anna is clearly not into the stuff that Grey is and whenever he's being like "nO bUt ThAtS hOt" honey that's not some secretly kinky guy that is a predator. i hope ppl irl take this movie as a lesson that if u meet someone in the BDSM scene and anytime u say ur genuienly not comfortable with something and they just start being like "but ur my submissive :(( ur meant to please me :(((" u need to get outta there
edit: "i have rules. if you follow them, i'll reward you. if you don't, i'll punish you" is what a dominant would say to their submissive AFTER THEY HAVE ALREADY SET BOUNDARIES AND MADE IT CLEAR THEY'RE BOTH READY AND INTO IT. Anna in that scene is literally telling him she's not into all that, it's been like what a minute since he introduced the whole kinky room to her, and yet he's acting like they're just doing a dom x sub roleplay??? this movie is not about a BDSM relationship, it's about an abusive one
This is like a "How to get your crush to like you: Cult Edition!!"
After watching this... I tend to think that 50 Shades Of Gray is a Horror Movie

+KrisTina_2525 i keep looking at it like a comedy..
