Good Day!!! Interested in starting to buy dividends...but where to go and start?? Which platforms?? Example, if i want scotia bank dividends, do i go there??? thanks..
I think the key question whether to stay invested is if the speed of software replacing the legacy is growing. Meaning if their software business replaces legacy fast enough
@@investingsucks As an overall investment strategy compared to value investing. There some interesting backtest results done on Tickernomics and there is a good discussion about circling the wagons by a famous value investor Manish Pabrai, as well as popular books such as 100 baggers by Chris Mayers.
@investingsucks, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the strategy and backtests for identifying long-term compounders (100 baggers) and investing in them early. This approach is gaining popularity even among value investors. For instance, Manish Pabrai talks about “circling the wagons.” Additionally, Chris Mayer’s book discusses how we can find 100 baggers-companies with increasing sales and multiple expansion as twin engines for turning $1 into $100. From backtests, we observe that high-quality companies tend to outperform cheaper ones. Hypothetically, if Thryv Holdings has a profitable SAAS business in 2028 with expanding multiples and sales, would that impact the decision to sell? However, it’s essential to recognize that the 100 bagger strategy carries risks that aren’t always highlighted and I think a video on that topic is worth its weight in gold 😁
Personally 100 baggers/compounders aren't something I personally look for. It's difficult to see that far into the future and there's so many variables at play. But I'd imagine management is a huge part of that equation, more so than if you're looking for something you think could double in 3-4 years time
@@investingsucks Got it thx. Wondering what specifically your process is -- straight to 10k? If so do you read through many past 10ks in chronological order as Lord Ackman recommends? Plz illuminate
I usually start with the most recent 10K 10Q and earnings call transcript so I'm up to date on the recent developments of the business. Read some bull/bear cases on value investors club and seeking alpha and by that point I have a good sense of what the business does and what the key issues/thesis is

I would love to hear about your opinion on longterm compounders?
What specifically about them?
