Professor Minwalla specializes in the fields of quantum science and string theory, and is currently working as a faculty member at TFIR Mumbai, prior to which he was an Assistant Professor at Harvard University. In this interview, Dr Minwalla explains his specialization in theoretical physics, its relevance in our daily lives, and his own experience of pursuing it as a researcher.

String Theory itself is a myth because it will never be prooven Experimentally. It is a Pseudoscience

It is my firm belief that the real deal in life lies in posing and answering intellectual questions, seeking beauty in the symmetry of mathematical equations rather than going to LAB, wasting umpteen lot of resources and then churn out regression curves to fit the experimental data. Theoretical work must be given a free license to take the lead, applications will always lie at the fringes of theoretical beauty.

We should appreciate the science as whole. The universe still has an ocean of mysteries yet to be revealed.
This comment is highly misleading and gives a very wrong picture of what experimental research is. What you are saying might be true for some fields of research but there are a lot of problems for which a carefully constructed experiment gave beautiful results which were not even close to our imagination. I'll give example from condensed matter- just search up twisted bilayer graphene or high-Tc superconductivity. So it's not wise to have such a narrow view of research.
I think this is nonsense. Physics is an experimental science. It is entirely possible for supersymmetry to be wrong 100 years into the future. Does that mean the truth is ugly? No. The true laws will have their own beauty, they don't necessarily need to exist in 11 dimensions.

Theoretical physics hurts my head but i still like it
Theoretical physics needs to return to reality and real physics.
what is real physics by the way.....
Theoratical physics paved way for practical application.. Without max Planck postulate on blackbody radiation, without schrodinger equation ( for that without Hilbert space) there is no cell phone and WiFi network through which we both communicate on science without even knowing each other
@@pramod120895 Bro how come did you associate quantum mechanics with communication systems? You should thank people like Maxwell and JC Bose for it.... Not Schrodinger or Planck....
@@Balboa_Rocky u r right with the set of scientists u name but without QM there is no modern theory of electrons which is basis for semi conductors and mainly it's thermal properities. Without semi conductors no modern communication system and we wouldn't have chat in this youtube platform.. Every stream of science at high level adopt quantum theory to improvise their field
@@Prof_Hazra_IIT real physics is not all the abstractions, mathematical theories, and hypothetical guesses going on here. it is an experience of knowledge by identification and union......a first-hand grasp of the underlying energy and vibrations of the basic elements out of which the universe is created and from where it came......ie. the BrahmaRishis.
