    This is amazing! Now THAT'S what I call real music. What a stunning combination of voices and talents.

    The lovely thing about these singers is that the song isn't performed, it totally pours from the heart. Elizabeth Laprelle and Eamon O'Leary are two of my favorite singers - both have haunting voices.

    I just finished listening to your song for probably the fiftieth time. Addicted. The best song and presentation on you tube or anywhere else.

    I heard this old ballad for the first time today. Such a lovely and accepting view of the end. These musicians are so natural and comfortable together. And the lead female vocalist - wow, what a striking and unique voice. So, so perfect for this type of music.

    I've listened to this at least a hundred times since stumbling onto it a few months back. I can't picture it being possible to improve on it. I'm learning to perform it with my band, but none of us have voices like folks do. I now have whole set lists of you tube videos of Anna and Elizabeth doing their wonderful music. Would love to see of all four of these folks together. What they do is truly magical and an inspiration to me to try harder.

    I love this song. I've listened to it probably 25 times.
    If you read this, please tell me, what key are you playing this song in? I say it's G, and a friend says its D. Who's right?

    • @jakemoskowitz2479
      @jakemoskowitz2479 9 лет назад +1

      Terry G Wilson - I'm pretty sure they're playing in G#. The video is dark (I guess to match the lyrics) but it looks like the guitarist is fingering in the key of D, capoed up 6 frets, god help us. I don't see a capo on the banjo, so I'm guessing she must have tuned it a semi-tone up. It's a bit confusing since the lines end on the fourth, not the tonic chord.

      I have to agree, although Anna and Elizabeth are beyond awesome and one of my very favorite vocals. The four part Waterson's harmony is almost impossible to improve on, partly because of the vocal range of those particular four voices.

    Jake. I think G is correct. I play it in A on a mountain dulcimer, noter/drone.
    Sounds nothing like these guys and girls though. Nothing better on you-tube.
