The situation with the hot seat i was thinking the same like you do. Why do they seperate the hot seat from the incoming riders? That's not really dh wc anymore.
With so many places to do this in the US, why SnowShoe....? North Carolina, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah - these places wouldnt be so remote and have alot of elevation. Thought about going this year from Texas, but it is so remote. Hoping to get out there next year regardless. Would love to meet all these racers in person.
Yea these races dont come for free to your place. But I dont mind Snowshoe, it always provides good racing and the rock sections are wild at race pace...
This is from memory: Vail has hosted 2 World Championships (94, 2001) and a few regular world cups. Telluride, Durango and New Mexico/Angel Fire (Angel Fire being the most recent in 2005) have hosted as well. I'm pretty sure the town/resorts figured that it didn't make financial sense. So they stopped. They still hold local type races, but not UCI.
Always wonder how much money it could even be for these super small resorts to afford it, a bigger resort should be able to swing it no problem. @@wyntv6148

Most likely cause, West Virginia or Snowshoe put up the money to ESO to host it here, but I definitely agree we need more racing stateside!
