I believe I read somewhere on one of the FPV groups that they had a 5 motor for the price of 4 deal. When the pilot bought the 5 motors only to find 1 was bad/defective. Their response? "Well, you got an extra? what's the problem?" I kid you not.
Historically the chinese companies are not very good at post-sales, because the chinese market is used to not having that. Most of them still struggle and seem to have a very hard time understanding even what it means. They will slowly learn the lesson.
😉👍. Thanks for the honest review. I've seen them fly smoothly, but it was a friend doing a review so... 😐 I'm not going into the issues I've seen because I'm sure you already know by now.
Great video as usual I find the crosshairs on the OSD really helps in hitting gaps. I have the same issue without it.... I almost get really nervous on the sticks just as I'm approaching it.
I'd always thought of the crosshairs as being a little intrusive, but I know so many people swear by them. The other killer here is not wanting to break the quad before I have some footage in the bag... another type of reviewers curse :)
I'm so lazy with tuning - I comes down to always sticking something new on a quad and needing to get footage from it. If I flew the same few quads repeatedly I think I'd dial them in a lot better.
I really appreciate that you did not get onto the bandwagon of praising MEPS, but have reviewed them properly. Not only the product, but also their shady "terms".
Love the review! Obviously, the "Proof is in the Pudding" as to the Motors. I always think when unethical requests of a manufacture is made before a review is to be made as to the old saying "What are they hiding" The motors here seem to do the job. If you like it, then you like it! On the other hand, the manufacturer clearly has forgotten or worse, they are too poorly educated in the realm of professional business ethics when asking for a review from a credible source such as yourself or Bardwell. To me it Sounds like those who come to the gambling crap table but soon start whining for their money back because they were not playing on the Don't Come Line when they should. Additionally, I must also think in this matter at hand of a Southern Baptist Preacher on a strong roll during his Sunday sermon! "TELL LIKE IS BROTHER, TELL LIKE IT IS !" Well brother, You told it like it is. 😀
Thanks for another excellent product review and for pointing out the bullying tactics of the company. If they think that an attitude like that is right to use with reviewers, what kind of customer support would they offer should anyone have a problem with their products? You put the ball squarely in their court, so will be interesting to see what happens next.
INO, the motors seem good - so I really do hope MEPS take this as a positive nudge to improve things. I have sent them a link directly, but nothing heard back so far
They contacted me about testing motors not long ago and i read over the "contract" and basically told them that is was shambles and i wasn't interested, they then reached out again to me with a much better approach and asked me try out their new 7 in motor with no contract and much more professional attitude, BTW these motors are great i think they are on PAR with most brands quality wise from my testing but longevity will be a question over time. I don't agree with writing off the company as boycotting them as their motors appear to be good quality, A different approach to the market will help though the damage is done sure but they can turn it around if they wish to
My initial attitude was that they've done badly, but lets look at the motors and kind of ignore that. But later finding out that they'd actually doxxed someone in a response was a step too far. I'm not saying don't ever buy anything from MEPS, I'm simply saying that MEPS need to actually actively set out to say something along the line of "we did wrong, and we're sorry". At that point I'd be ready to use them - because, as you mentioned - I think the motors are pretty good.
Good job, Wayne I suspect there may be a cultural or translation challenge at the root of their tactics. Still, learn your market wb advisable. Any developments in the works for your simulator?
Perhaps so, but as you say - you need to understand what's acceptable in your target market as well. Sim - yes and no. I started the race courses months ago and really just had a week left to finish them off. Then I got side-tracked. Probably a video coming out soon in how I intend to manage my time better, as I'm not getting enough time for the project I want to do
...... Well, I suppose you went in a little hot there, saying all the reviews were full of shit and made one person very defensive. But, hey, between you, me, and others, hopefully the message is out there and MEPS do something different
@@CurryKitten maybe so but i just dont give a fuck tbh. lazy marketing, doxxing and not to mention the grade of materials is junk. i tell it how it is and people are so spoon fed these days and affended its ridiculous
I disagree. I think Wayne gave a fair review of the motors, and a fair review of the company - the motors appear to be fine, the company appear to be dicks. Don't buy from dicks.
In the beginning I was happy to take the motors on face value, but after I revisited their post and finding out they doxxed someone, meant there was no way I could get behind them. I'm not saying they are bad forever more and you shouldn't touch them. I;m saying they need to own up to their bad behaviour and assure is the going forwards nothing like that will happen again. At that point, we remove the "don't buy"

That's pretty shocking behaviour - having decent customer service is something people will go for, even if the prices aren't the cheapest.

Hence the china market collapse

Thanks Wayne fair review of motors and their marketing/company attitude.

What I know is that they don't use that contract now. New brand always make mistakes, need to be taught a lesson and need to be helped. 😂😂
100% Agree....
motors seem ok , PRICE to high for a new player in the motor game < nice review
great review well done wayne
Hey Wycliffe, long time no see my friend. Cheers :)
@@CurryKitten Still kicking along with the rest of team Wooly Sheep.
Well said. 👍🤓
Thanks :)
Not a good test. Should have not updated betaflight. Nothing to compare to now. Messing does suck tho lol 😅

I can't get behind bad behaviour!
Awesome flying and review, Wayne! 😃
But yeah, I hope they fix those issues. It's definitely not good...
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I hope so too. Cheers MC
