I have 2 GSD's. Litter mate males. This was like watching mine grow up. Now 2 1/2 and 90 pounds each they are 2 of my biggest joys. They are also essential in my daily battle with a PTSD diagnosis. Constant source of companionship, humor and members of the family.
Plz tell me the GSD will out grow shredding the house and yard? We just had 8 puppies 1/2 GSD 1/2 Rottweiler. Kinda like 8 honey Badgers 🦡 running around
@@godfamilycountry2785 "Honey Badgers"..🤣 I get it. Mine are mature-ish now. Still a couple of fluffy goobers but the do grow out of it for the most part. Expect that to be the norm until they are 18 months. In 2 years I have replaced by back yard lawn 2X, couch, chair, bar stools, too numerous fluffy toys, balls, and a arm bite training device. While trained for personal and family protection, they are boys and do boy dog stuff. Never too many games of ball, the ever so fun game of "bite my brother's face", mutual combat wrestling, "hey let's scare the letter carrier and the famous "let's make the UPS guy pee his pants game". Me coming home from work is their favorite game of all, "the knock down game". They jump towards me, push off and dare me to chase them. Even at 200 pounds they have put me on my backside more than once and they think it's funny. I love my boys but they are work. They "walk me". They're are fun, loving and cherished members of the family. There is NOTHING on this earth like a GSD. Gunny is the Sr. Non-commissioned officer. Odie is the OIC and I am the combat controller. We're a great team.
Brings back memories of my Shepherd Akita as a pup - exhausting but an awful lot of fun. She dug a hole in the garden, stuck a bone in the hole she’d dug and after covering it back up she sat on top and looked around, so pleased with her achievement, as if she was the only one who knew where she’d hidden it. During teething, she bit a wicker bathroom chair down to ‘toothpicks’ and she had a ‘say hello’ chair, as my daughter called it which she’d lunge onto when my daughter came home from work. She was a holy terror as a pup but grew into a fine dog and I miss her such a lot. Thank you for animating the memories with your beautifully fun footage. Enjoy your days with your dogs. JaneR
When mine went through her "Terrible twos " she was more than a handful! Getting into everything, dragging our bathroom mats around the house, playing keep away with my slippers, attacking my hand/arm/leg. But then she grew into one of the best dogs I ever had.
@Lavenderrose73 I've always preferred to raise my own dog, I have certain things I want ingrained from the start like child tolerant, no food aggression etc. I find it much easier to do when their a pup.
Ahhh! The joys of puppyhood! And I really do mean that. Constant energy, exploration and discovery. So exciting and exhausting -not only for puppy, but you too! 😅❤
This is one of the cutest puppies I have seen on IG. They get into about anything and those sharp teeth teach you a new dance as you hop to get away from their antics. But, you fall in love for that new member of your family.
Ha ha haaa. It's like when we brought our puppy, Indie, home. He was a calm puppy for one week and then he turned into a little terror with razor blades for teeth... on the constant hunt for some feet, hands, hair, or anything else to chew on. Thanks for sharing!!!
We don’t have a GSD, we have a corgi. And this happened to us. A friend explained it as “trying to hold an epileptic alligator”. My vet laughed so hard she cried and has stolen this description. Because that’s what he was. With sharp little teeth. He was chewing on a barbell and my husband was scolding him and I thought “No! Keep chewing!! Get rid of those baby teeth!!”
Jasper is certainly where he belongs. Same goes for his sibs. These gorgeous "workers" are kept very fit and content. I'll repeat from other subs' posts -- I wish every dog had this measure of healthy and happy, life-long.🙏❤🐶
He's a little demon. You've got your hands filled with him. But I'm sure it will be worth every minute of love he gives. That little one is Adorable 🥰🥰🥰😍
I love this video! It takes me back to when my German Shepherd was a puppy. She chewed everything she could. I didn’t like her trying to chew my jeans as I walked 😊
My Sable was called Timber she lived to be 13.5 my one and only shepherd I’ve ever had. Lovely dog. Smart, protective, beautiful. The sable is my favourite coat colour for the GSD. Enjoy your GSDs, time goes so fast! 😊😊❤
You’ve nailed it! All these comments are from pretty patients owners who got rewarded ten-fold when their puppies matured into real pals. Thanks to you all. JaneR
If people can only put up with the first year they are so worth it. Our Santa , is so sweet now. She'll be 3 this year. We love her so much believe me she still has her moments but she keeps us laughing 😂💜
This takes me back. My GSD was such a handful for the first three years of her life. When my pup was about 1.5, she broke into my neighbor’s back yard and found a decent sized puddle that had accumulated from a camper’s toilet waste. She dove headfirst into it and refused to come out because she was having such a good time. We bathed her six times and then had to take her to the groomer before she didn’t smell like chemicals and poop. My husband, who has a very weak stomach, nearly blew a gasket. That was when I kind of understood why people take their dogs to the pound at that age. GSD puppies are so stinking cute but they are also the biggest a holes. My baby girl is 7.5. With a LOT of training, positive reinforcement, and unconditional love, she is much better behaved. Every now and then, she pulls one of her stunts and I remind myself that she once chewed up the vacuum clearer to show it that she wasn’t afraid of it. so I find my inner peace, remind her that I’m the alpha mom, and she stops whatever dumb thing she’s doing. I have no regrets. She’s an amazing soul and I love her.
I went through the same thing with my Fred until about 2 1/2-3 years old, the he became my everything. He was the best dog and my soul doggo. When he was little he would chew through base boards, mark the inside of everywhere in my home, chewed threw carpet, etc. Now 13 1/2 years later he is gone. I had to put him down 3 days ago because of CCD or canine Alzheimer’s. Tried everything and every medicine but nothing can combat that. Not even in humans but I tried so hard to “save” him. He was my best friend, my confidant, my world. I miss him so much I feel like I can’t breathe at times. Enjoy your doggos every single day. Never take a day for granted. You never know when they won’t be there anymore. God I miss him.
Just read your message and my heart goes out to you - it’s awful but if it’s a bit of help I’m sending you a compassionate hug - my GS Akita had to be put to sleep in March, 4 weeks after my husband’s sudden death. Just try, every day, to recall the fun, crazy times you shared with your dog. Like my dog, there’s bound to be dozens of such past times. All the best, Jane

My male GS, sweetheart, only had to tell him no once, from a pup, now the female, make sure you were watching while she was naughty! Two speeds, full tilt boogie and asleep, loved them both very much...
I got 10 years ago twin rescue mixed pups. She border collie+pointer mix and he black lab border collie. Supposedly different father. They still are energetic and I too have marks on arms and legs from little teeth. At 10 years he still is mouthy and has to be reminded,"kisseys" not bites. His sister 16 lbs lighter gets so aggravated at him when he plays roughly at 60 pounds heavier. But they do really like each other. Just like people, different personalities.
As the momma to a young puppy, can confirm. Alllll of this and more. I’m just waiting for my boy to be something other than fluff and teeth! Man those giant puppy teeth hurt!

Crazy crazy drives, has to be sedated ( asleep) to cut his nails, as doesn’t allow nail clipping. When sedated then ear cleaning , shots etc gets done. Then sedation is reversed & he’s woken up !!! 😂
Talk about craziness 😂😂😂 120 lbs of obnoxious arrogant behaviour!!

That was priceless! Thank you for brightening my day 😊
He just needs some discipline training showing him he doesn't get treats or affection if he doesn't behave. So cute 🥰
Yes exactly my thoughts
Absolutely
Agreed. Needs discipline as it would be in a pack. We want to believe they are little humans but they are animals. Hierarchy is different.
Would never even suggest to these owners how to train. They have more experience and love them most
Oh my, this cuteness overload is exactly what I needed!!!

He is a happy little dog. ❤
The "reality" of puppies shown here is my expectation. We had Bull Terriers growing up and they all acted like this!
They're so lucky to have been given loving and caring owners.
I love Jasper!👍🏻😁❤️🦊
As the momma to a young puppy, can confirm. Alllll of this and more. I’m just waiting for my boy to be something other than fluff and teeth! Man those giant puppy teeth hurt!
Good to see the puppy phase of the side eye king. Love Jasper
