Lan Zhan isn't an alcoholic. He's just hilarious when he is drunk. Wei Wuxian is an alcoholic.
Also, a nice little easter egg Huaisang's fan has a poem written on it that roughly translates to "I'm not of this world". Take that as you will.

The chicken is called “ Pheasant colchicus” and people in Asia used to go hunting it in the wild

They call it an "owl" but actually that's not what the thing looks like. Wei WuXian later calls it a "crow" and then a "chicken." My guess is that it started its life as an unidentified black bird, probably a crow, but since then it has mutated into a monster.

"Immortal cultivators" doesn't mean that they're literally immortal the way we'd think in Western culture. The goal of cultivation (aka martial arts and "magic", to define it somewhat simplistically) is to become immortal and ultimately ascend to godhood. Cultivators reach a point where they stop aging and therefore become "immortal", but that just means that they live for a very long time and could technically live forever IF nobody killed them, not that they're immune to being killed. This is also why everyone from the older generations in the donghua looked like they were in their mid twenties despite having adult children. They just stopped aging because they were very strong. The Untamed hired older actors for the older characters, so that makes it not be as obvious unless you remember that everybody from the main cast still looks very young in their mid-late thirties. The Chinese goverment doesn't like all of this to be depicted in live action dramas, so they always censor it in adaptations. As for the common folk in these type of stories, they don't really understand how cultivation works so, whenever they talk about cultivators, they tend to think that they've all reached that strength/cultivating threshold, since they all look extraordinary and powerful from their point of view. It's just one of those things where you need to know a bit about Chinese mythology and tropes if you don't want to be confused.
Also, the reason why they didn't understand why Wen Qing cared so much about that village is that, while the translation saying "grandma" is not entirely incorrect, "popo" doesn't necessarily refer to your biological grandmother. It's just like how an older gentleman can be referred to as "uncle", or someone close to your age can be your "brother" or "sister". That lady isn't Wen Qing's biological grandmother; she's just an older woman from her clan whom she respects, so she calls her "popo". Other translations for this show use "madam" instead of "grandma".

Huaisang is a funny contradiction. He is stronger than non-cultivators just by being a cultivator (hence him being able to push away puppets +/- easily) and his clan is one of warriors. But he himself hates fighting and while he knows how to use one, he doesn’t carry his sword. Young him (flashback him) is a little bit of a coward as well - we all know what it takes for him to grow a pair and become… what he does become.*
I love him and seeing him so young and bubbly and whiny hurts when you know.
Hope RUclips will stop giving you hell every time and that real life problems lessen in numbers. Great reaction as always.
(*Note that I use grow a pair while simultaneously believing not everyone needs to be brave and it was more to color my point than anything else.)

While this branch of the Wens is Wen Qing and Wen Ning's family, I think the "Grandma" is more of a title for older ladies than it is actually her grandma.
Meng Yao is the one that Xichen was infatuated with in episode 4 who came with Huaisang to the lecture and left early.

I'd love some fic recommendations about that, if you're comfortable sharing! And no, I actually haven't watched Word of Honor yet. I'm planning to start it in September. Aside from maybe three episodes of Hwarang back when I was 16, The Untamed is the first in this genre I've watched.
