Just trying to help, but as good as the Powerflex bushes are, they don't work on the FCA (even the black series doesn't last more than a few months of aggressive use). I'd suggest getting the Turner Motorsport monoball FCAB for this particular application. However, knowing how video editing works, I suspect it is too late and they are already fitted LOL ;).
Urethane bushings don't really work on anything. Grease squeezes out pretty quickly, and the high friction in the joint makes the car handle like crap. Rubber is better than urethane by significantly reducing friction (they wind up like a spring). Spherical bearings/rod ends/monoballs are by far a better solution if you want more isolation than a rubber bushing as the friction stays low, and compliance goes away. But you're right, they don't tend to last long in lots of BMW applications due to the high loading.
Yup, urethane is a bad idea in any component that moves at all. I think it has its place for engine or subframe mounts but that’s about it. Turner spherical FCABs and RTABs are the way to go for this car.
i always put the m3 csl motor mounts in my cars! they are great! dont have the oil filled core but still dampen the annoying vibrations. you can order them at any dealer. they are often called groupe N or simple e46 m3 csl motor mounts. they are urethane filled rubber bushings and the work amazing! ps: did you guys check for the clutch delay valve in the hydraulic line? taking that out gives a lot better feeling pedal
When those brake rotor hold bolts get stripped what I do is use a Dremel tool to cut a deep line then I just use a flat head driver to screw them off. Works every time.
I usually cuss off the Europian automotive industry for using wheel bolts rather than studs like the rest of the world making those rotor hold bolts necessary and the previous tech for fucking it up prior to and during cutting the slot for a flat tip screwdriver
Guys super clean or purple power can etch soft metals. I assure you if you try Shout liquid laundry detergent you'll never use anything else. I use it on everything. It would make my dirt bikes, atvs etc look brand new after being covered in all that Florida red clay.
I am following your channel since 2014 i rarely comment but today i want to give you a big thumb up for all your hard work . So much great times looking you video . Good job guys carry on.
Nothing feels better then degreasing your engine/trans/bay. Nothing feels worse when you forget to cover your windshield up before degreasing your engine/trans/bay 🙃🙃🙃. Keep up the good work guys, love the channel!!! 👍👍👍🙌🙌🙌
Think twice about swapping the plastic clutch pivot pin for steel or aluminum; the small hole or boss that the pivot pin sits in is cast into the transmission housing and is prone to cracking - when this happens you are now out an entire transmission. Much cheaper to simply replace the plastic pivot pin and sleep easy knowing it will break before the transmission casting does!
Track test that 911, PT. Some day you'll be a gray old man (like Dave) and you'll be sitting there with regret, "man, I wish I had track-tested the 911".
You should check out a swedish company called "Millway" they make the best bushings and arms in existence for these cars. Its the only brand people in Europe run, pretty much makes powerflex look like legos. Hit them up
DO NOT PUT POWERFLEX FRONT CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS ON!!!!! They are notorious for quickly falling apart. (heat issue). Powerflex rear trailing arm bushings are fine.
You can replace the balljoints in those arms. BMW doesn’t say any of there front control arms are serviceable, however you can buy Meyle balljoints for those arms. They are not difficult to replace with a press either.
you might wanna look into reinforced Suspesnion Parts made by Meyle, they might be what you're looking for as beginner Drifters as they still give you that OEM feeling while being able to take a lot more punishment.
budds bmw in oakville, near the bronte go train station good times good times i once worked on my car in the parking lot of that train station when i was younger. so stupid haha
There is no bmw engine and transmission known to mankind thats not leaking from several places so its common to find oil all over the place in the engine bay :D My bmw mechanics likes to say if its not leaking there is no oil in it :D
OK, when you say "more of a permanent fix" when talking about E46 M3 rod bearings you'd better elaborate because you got my attention and I'm not going anywhere until you explain. OK? I'm just going to sit here and wait...
BMW fanboy alert! Take your head out of the sand so you can properly recognize BMW's many deficiencies. Just because it's an M series means nothing. I assure you there are much better headers possible. Just removing the cats alone would gain power, so any header that does that will most certainly make more power.
for my e46 M3 i did fabspeed stepped headers, moved the cats to Section 1 w/ 200 cells. This is close to the CSL set-up. Also, I did a Rogue Engineering x-pipe. Definite improvement from my butt dyno.
@@nevrcm3261 Sounds like a nice street setup... I was thinking more from the track mindset, like removing them completely. At least they would be nice like you have them, then maybe you could bolt in test pipes for track day.

@@revolutionday1 no, that's how youtube works. Why do you think every channel asks you to up vote every video? You think it's just to make them feel good? No, it helps their business as a content creator. Down voting does the opposite.

You should get about 10hp+ gains with headers and if you tune it without headers you should get even more

that engine and bay came out cleannnn. good stuff!
I was wondering what the hold up was! Lol happy to see progress on this, can’t wait for the Subaru stiff to start.
Haha that poke to Larry Chen at the end
Get Euro headers or long tube headers without cats. It makes a nice difference.
Nice episode guys!
Condor bushings for the engine mounts!

Kinda weird that the brake discs weren’t oem drilled discs.
It's pretty bad when the manufacture has their own engine degreaser! The oil leaks saved it from rusting as bad as it could have been.

Just get an e46 323 or 328, same car lol, just a few differences that aren’t that big if you’re willing to fabricate and swap an entire drivetrain.
