- In my first episode of Nordicautomotive, I visited Frank Kaspersen and his VW Golf Mk1 GTI. This is an original car that Frank and a friend has restored to almost mint condition.
He even got peoples choice award on the first VW meet he attended

Simply beautiful! I had a mk1 series 2 in black with lowered gas shox and ats cup rims. 11 years I owned it and seeing this now has made me feel sick for selling it!

Awesome car ! I have own in the past two Mk 1 GTI "Pirelli" from 1983, the first one was Lhasa green coloured, and the last one Alpin White. Now I own also a Mk1, but sadly it isn't a GTI...

Wonderful car, look at the smile on this guys face and I don't blame him; full of character, quick, nimble, has soul and you feel the drive, this is the kind of car I want!

seriously don't man.. i been looking for a mk1 for like 3 years maybe. this summer i was lucky and found an original one from "82. its the best thing i have ever got with my money. Super fun to drive. makes me smile every time i see it. its my own first car ever btw haha.
NoDaut literally just bought mine, she's an 83 Rabbit GTI, it is in really good condition but I haven't driven it yet, doing a complete restore, the full process. Right now I'm stripping it down and rebuilding the engine and getting some bbs rims for it, along with h&r coil overs, going the full mile with it. I also have a apr built mk7 gti and a couple other vws and audis, can't get enough but I think this gti will be a unique experience.
Mr.Krabs damn! You're lucky haha. I would like to do a full restoration some time also but for now.. idk its pretty solid no rust etc. Trying to got some fun engine to swap it haha. and congratulations with the rabbit :). are you on fb? search for "burnallthemk1".
NoDaut if you're looking for a good swap to do, see if you can get ahold of a vr6 engine, they're designed to fit in your car, they were in a later version but they are amazing, and I'll see if I can find you.
Mr.Krabs i know the vr6 lol. i honestly want something different man. some abf or kr pl. 20vt.. idk man haha. No thats a fb page with all kinds of ppl who love/own mk1's. idk if you are in those groups. thoughg you mind find that interesting. and its a good place to ask for advise and help if you need any.

Isn’t the car missing the fog lights. From what I remember, GTIs came with a set of smaller fog lights mounted just inside the headlights.

how much would this car cost to buy today in this condition?
i think it depends on where you live. in the Netherlands they usually market them from 8k up to 15k. some lower, some higher. ofcourse it also depends on the condition it's in, and which year it's dated from.

Kjøpte min drømmebil i går, golf mk1 ! den skulle bli baneprosjekt men ble avbrutt, så den står uten motor og litt diverse. Om en av dere kunne ha fortalt meg litt info eller lignende om mk1 hadde det vært fantastisk, har mangen spørsmål.
Eieren av denne bilen Frank Kaspersen har nok masse informasjon å komme med. Ellers ville jeg anbefalt VACN forumet

J en est eux une bonne dizaine déc est golf GTI MK1 c'était la belle époque mais quand la 1800 cc 16s et sortie j etait fou amoureux de cette voitures malheureusement j ai eux un accident avec elle était foutu d après les assurances je c est que j aurait pue la retaper avec une donneuse mais les assurances l on fou tu a la casse et après j ai eux la mk3 vr6 2l8 une sacrée bombes je regrette qu une choses c est de l avoir vendu
