In my opinion I think the og vks should’ve made a appearance in descendants 4 but we all have to realize that it’s time for a new generation to rise and I know it’s not gonna be the same as the old ones but at least they’re making more descendants instead of just leaving us with a clueless mind in the end of the royal wedding

I think that Descendants should have ended with the 3rd movie. They ended the story so there is no reason to make number four. It wouldn't feel right without the old cast. And is Chloe Chad's sister?! It doesn't make sense.

Its hard to tell, I feel like, in a way, Camron Boyce would want them to finish the story they created, but in another way, it does feel wrong to make another movie. Like, im sure it will be an amazing movie. It's just hard to think of it as descendants without the og vks.
well the original VK's story ended in the special, Descendants: A Royal Wedding.
at the end, a voice over for Mal said something like "our story may be over, but I know one that's just starting" and panned over to red painted white roses and a rabbit hole (reference to Alice in Wonderland). so from that point on, it was known that any future movies wouldn't focus on Mal and her friends anymore, but new characters
That's why it's called Descendants and not Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos
its focused on a new storyline its not wrong, just on a new story.

The title descendants means the children of Disney’s heroes and villains. Despite the fact that the original cast is not coming back the rise of red is still focusing on the children of Disney’s heroes and villains. So it makes sense they would continue with that title.

I wish the old cast was back.I am a big Descendants fan.But I think it won't be good because it is going from one cast to a new cast so how will they make that along with the other 3 movies. I just don't see how they're going to like. Tell the story from the other 3 movies and then change it up to like where all those other characters went. I'm not going to be one of those people who says "I'm so excited for the new movie."" It's going to be cool". I like the other movies and I wish it was like that but I do respect the other cast members decisions. I think I wanna see the new movie. I'm not excited to see you though.

Plus it’s new characters. With new storylines. Of course it’s not going to be the same Red and Chloe are different from the original four which is good if they tried to make them carbon copies of mal Evie, jay, Carlos it would feel bland and unoriginal plus it would probably make fans ever more pissed off. They are going for a different story these are not the kids from the isle. They are expanding the lore and magic world of the franchise. Plus at the end of descendants the royal wedding’s a voice over said” our story might be over but a new one is beginning”. Then it pans over to painted red flowers and the rabbit hole( a reference to Alice in wonderland ) so it was they were going to do more descendants films without the original cast. I miss Cameron Boyce and may he rest in peace. But I think that he would have liked knowing that the descendants is continuing China Anne Mcclain she doesn’t see it as disrespectful and Cameron would have liked this. Anyway my point if you expected the trailer to show the same thing of kids escaping from the isle to Auradon you were kind of setting yourself up for disappointment since it was well established before that was not going to be story. Again if you don’t want to watch then just don’t watch it.
