- Hello guys. I updated P3D to V5.1 with the Hotfix and it looks stunning! Today's video is the landing in Stockholm Skavsta (ESKN/NYO) after a flight from Alicante. It was a full flight with a ZFW of around 59 tonnes, but with tankering fuel for the return leg. The flight is dispatched at MLW minus 1% to have a little margin if the fuelburn is lower than expected. In this case we are just 300kg below our maximum of 65300kg.
PC Specs:
ASUS TUF H370 | Intel i7-8086K CPU @ 4.0Ghz | GTX 1080 G1 Gaming G8 | 16 GB DDR4-3000
Add-ons:
PMDG 737 NGXU
Freeware Skavsta scenery
ORBX Global, TerraFlora, OpenLC EU
Active Sky
FSFX ChasePlane
What. A. Greaser.
Thanks! I love Flaps 40 landings. The aircraft feels very solid and precise.
Sup mate! Great video! Where did u get Stockholm skavsta from?
It’s freeware scenery and available on the Flightsim Norway website
Great flight great graphic
I have p3dv5 and I will be upgrading to 5.1
my software and hardware is just like yours only my graphic card is a gigabite RTX 2080 super
can you please you tell me what I need to uninstall first on pd5.0 ,and what about chase plain do I need to uninstall it or I can leave it there, and what do I do with orbx do I need to uninstall it first.
You can leave everything installed. Just uninstall the 5.0 client and install the 5.1 client. Then go to your ORBX central and uodate/verify Chaseplane
Nice one. Also hows dem clouds treating you? I went back to 5.0 because the views were aboslutely dreadful during the cruise. Couldn't live with it
Terrible. To me cruise is the least important as I barely look outside. Arrival and departure look very good though
Nice video as always
I'm really starting to be disappointed by LM. 6 months of waiting for this... The HDR is still very bad, I believe P3D still have the advantage over other simulators due to the amount of add-on it have. But I can't get how in the world LM manages to mess up even the simplest thing to implement, and with the amount of time they had I'm talking mostly about the graphic side as it's the area where I have the most experiences and knowledges but there are a lot of stuffs in other areas that I just can't get how they manage to get them so wrong...
Ex :
-dynamic reflection : why in the world can't they simply implement a Screen Space reflection instead of this really buggy and ressource intensive thing they have implemented.
-This HDR they made, just how? And mostly, don't they test their products? How in the world can you see this very contrasted, washed out image and dare to say it's okay to release it publicly?
- Truesky : I myself have been trying around making volumetric clouds a while ago from the ground up, and the result I got at that time was much better than this. I've been reading the truesky sdk, although, I've never tried it myself, after reading the sdk, for me there is just no way to mess the clouds so badly too, and they've had 6 months since the initial release of v5, that should have been more than enough.
Light: unrealistically dark a lot of time during daytime for whatever reasons, even fsx back in the time did better
Shadows : I'm not sure if they're using cascaded shadow mapping or not for the main light, but still, it's very basic and could be improved without too much impact on performance. Also, why there is no spotlight shadow implementation is out of my mind.
I feel like deferred rendering should be the preferred choice instead of forward rendering for any simulator, mostly so that I can handle much more realistic lighting for large cities and airports, yet they don't seem to have any plan to move toward that way.
There are a lot of post processing effects so easy and quick to implement, that any modern computer can handle, that can make the simulator much more realistic graphic wise, and p3d either don't have them at all or have them implemented so badly.
I feel like LM works on p3d just 2 weeks per year, and then dare to present the result as a new version
can u reupload it ? its on 360p
It’s 4K but somehow youtube takes hours to process...
