Chesterfield town centre very windy so couldn’t het done as much as I wanted the statues on saltergate are. William Harvey and James Hassan well known miners in chesterfield

I lived in Chesterfield from 1980 to 1992 until the Abattoir on Hipper Street South closed where I worked ( now the site of Next , B&M'S and the former Debenham store ) I revisited Chesterfield with my wife last year , the town has changed greatly in my opinion, the atmosphere of a bustling busy town has gone as well as the major industry that once gave tbe town its wealth , tbe market is a shadow of its former self which is a great shame , times change , its still an attractive town , but its glory days sadly have left and will not return
