    Get custom orthotic insoles man, your feet will thank you. Orthotics combined with high quality footwear helped me immensely.

      The powerstep insoles in my whites are orthotic insoles and they help a lot, they just don't fit in the origins. I tried a pedaq insole that's supportive in a similar way to the powerstep but it was still too much squish from the built in insole in the origins. I think if they switched to a leather insole and gave it a bit more arch it would work well

      @@JMatt1 I’m having the same issue. I had one made for my K6 hikers but it’s too wide for my Iron Rangers. I need a new one fitted for those. Luckily I’m an amputee so I only have to pay for one lol. 😂
      The Eddie Bauer K6 is an incredible boot for the sale price of $140 CAD. Very well made and comfortable.

    Thanks for sharing! This video showed up on my feed and checked a lot of boxes. Haha even those Rose Anvil kilties were on my radar.

    Let me do the YT thing and recommend Jim Greens out of South Africa. I have two and I think they're very decent value. Very tough and prettydarn comfortable, break in is about 2-4 weeks and their standard last is fairly wide.

      @@JMatt1they have razorbacks with a steel toe and they also do custom orders for basically any combination of shoe and sole you want
      edit: you can pick which last you want them made on too

      Love my Jim Green’s. Fantastic quality for the price. The standard African Rangers feel great once broken in. I don’t feel like I have to get my boots off at the end of the day.

      @@koala8353 no problem. I do hope they can get it right though, I like the company. They did just release a pair of Goodyear welt moc toes, but I have no idea how they're built

    I think they should let the leather midsole do what it's supposed to do and leave out all the foam. Few boots at their price point have that thick of a midsole and they're waisted under all that synthetic stuff. However, I get the point that they're an athletic hybrid boot.

    I personally love Origins Jeans (wear them literally every day) but I think there boots leave a little to be desired on a couple fronts

    I just wish they’d gusset the tongues all the way up, it’ll keep the water out better. I have the Lincoln boots and the Coronado whiskey boots both with the mini lug soles.

    • @JMatt1
      @JMatt1  8 месяцев назад +1

      The work builds are gusseted slightly higher than the Coronado's, they go up to the second eyelet/speed hook instead of the third not that will make a huge difference

    I got tired of burning through work boots and paid for a pair of JK's. Like most PNW boots......Boots made like that are the way footwear is supposed to feel. I have their Superduty short model and wear them every day. Taking my boots off is the last thing that crosses my mind when I get home from work after being in them for over 12 hours. Do yourself a solid and buy some boots that will last longer than the soles. Because many don't....Boots made in the PNW do. :)

      Is the lack of cushion on those not hard on your feet? I have a few, albeit cheaper, heritage style shoes and although they mold to my feet well they always felt hard and uncomfortable under foot. This has kept me from investing in a real hand made boot for everyday work

    • @JMatt1
      @JMatt1  8 месяцев назад

      @@kylecameron5610 that's why I like my whites, leather insole/lasting board with arch support but still intended to be used with a removable insole. They come with one though it was too narrow for my feet so I put powerstep insoles in. I don't know if all whites come with insoles but I know their goodyear welted boots do

      Nope. Even with red x outsoles walking on concrete all day. Have you ever worn a perfectly fit, full leather glove while playing baseball or softball? Weather you're catching fastballs at 100+ mph or playing shortstop(different models/styles), that's the best parable I got for ya. It's the perfect leather glove for your feet. You can soften the sole and feel with the white or black cristy outsoles too. I have both hard and soft rubbers on my boots. My soft rubber, the JK Forefront in redwood, feels like I'm walking on a cloud the instant I put them on. Something else to consider to longevity & overall comfort is how they're lasted. Goodyear or stitched down last. Stitched down takes more work but seems to be proven for enduring hardships and overall comfort and feel. These boots will probably out live me at 36 :)

      @@colinw2104so you’re running jk? I am looking for a pair of expensive boots. I’m done with the $180 Carolina’s. They are falling apart after 7 months. Looking between, nicks, whites, jk, and thorogood just because they are made in my home state and we have an outlet where you can get them cheaper.

    The White’s Perry Selects are (in my opinion) a much better pair of work boots. They have a serious leather arch support and are all day comfort and durability for working. Unfortunately I had to send mine back (poor quality control). But I’ve been running a pair of White’s Fultons for automotive use, and with a decent insole they have been great.

    The copper rough and tough from rose anvil are thick. Kilties

    • @JMatt1
      @JMatt1  8 месяцев назад

      These are just their dark brown option. Very thin leather. Didn't work at all on the whites from protecting the tongue because they weren't wide or thick enough. Whatever damage was happening to the kiltie was also happening to the tongue in the same spot. They worked a little better on the origins due to the tongue not being as wide as the whites and the speed hooks aren't as sharp

    These are poorly designed boots and insoles won't help. throw them away, take care of your feet. find normal shoes. If you like this style, then look towards Franks boots or nicks. if you just need closed shoes, look at the redback...
