Test drove a rubicon JL and felt it can easily replace any commuter car... steers fine.. noise is acceptable.. amazing turning radius... doesn't drift.. just right amount of stiffness. The JL just from specs is better in every way of the JK... Not sure what isn't as good. Maybe the tacky colors? For the K02s i suggest airing down a bit.. rides fine.

I'm buying this for a daily driver and off-roading. Rubicon!

I had a 2017 Rubicon JK for a year as an everyday driver. It rides very well on street though more bumpy than other SUVs. It's not as bad as this reviewer claim it to be. I only traded it in because I'm waiting for The Scrambler next year. And yes the Wrangler has became ridiculously expensive.

Good video. Everything that drivers complain about on road will pay off when they're off road. You kinda have to work with its characteristic. But man it a beast off road!! So capable.

    First? First!
It's improved a lot but man have they made it so expensive. I can't imagine how much more one has to spend for the upcoming Hybrid or Diesel

    • @76carmel
      @76carmel 6 лет назад

FedoraMcGentlesir - with the diesel, at least a $4000 upcharge. The turbo is at least $500 extra.

Sometimes when you want it bad enough you got to pull the trigger. Despite the price increase I just know that a lot of people are still going to buy it. That's just how good and cool this Jeep is.

The JLU is a hoot. I bought a Sport S and put some 285/70 tires on it. Even the Sport S is extremely capable. Its just so much more friendly to drive daily than the JK. I love mine.

My JK vs JL comparison (for me, a 2 door Rubicon soft top)
    My JL pros
-possibly the new 2.0 engine (I also like the Pentastar)
-8 speed transmission (much better than JK transmission)
    -quicker throttle response
    -soft top without ‘cross bar’
    -soft top no zippers
    -quieter soft top
    -body color roll bar
    -flat horizontal dash
    -lighter/aerodynamic tweaks = better MPG
    -real metal interior detail
-real hardware (not faux bolts) interior
-more inputs and other interior conveniences
    -larger cup holders
-air vents for cooling under hood
-more rake in windshield (think rock damage)
-doors stay opened, and close better
    -cabin is slightly longer
    -doors remove easier/faster
    -telescopic adjusting steering wheel
    -bigger storage tub
    -stronger and lighter tailgate
    -better hood latches
-easier drain plug access (without needing to move carpet)
    My JL cons
-auto start/stop (I’m not sure how to disable it)
    -the bumpers (front and back)
-front running lights on fender flare
-too much digital visual “noise” on dash
-rear camera (I know I can take it off - and I will)
-no hard drive in radio to store music (I like that in the 430 in JK)
    -the $ cost $

The safety feature in this Wrangler I found most unique is the fact that the back-up camera that is embedded in center of the spare tire on the back door.
People will trick out this Jeep thanks to Mopar. In the previous generation Wrangler - a backup camera wasn’t available unless you had take it to a Jeep dealer to install a Mopar backup camerakit for it. Otherwise, you would need aftermarket parts.
But any Wrangler can conquer most anything (road and off-road conditions). The Rubicon edition? - almost everything.

Great very thorough review. I really want a 2019. I read that there will be an available auto breaking and speed sensitive cruise control option. Can you tell me what package and what cost that package is to get those 2 options?. Also, I saw that the Mojito is being discontinued. I think that's a terrible decision by FCA. Then I recently saw that it wasn't discontinued for 19 as of yet and Bekini is a late release. Do you have any info on the color decision. Thank you!!!.

"it drives like a drunken sailor" What nonsense. Now this is a man that is not very familiar with Jeep wranglers. " you are constantly adjusting electric assist steering"( not true). This is a good example of ,drive these vehicles yourself, don't believe the stuff on the internet.

While a Grand Cherokee is better for most people a few benefits for a four Wrangler even if you are not going to rock crawl is you can get it with a manual and as a convertible. There are not many practical convertibles out there that can seat four people.

Billy Sou // And over here, we have the latest model, if you have money like Bill Gates. Most millionaires buy one to drive over the weekend to events and such. The young disappointed fans of the Jeep lineup has been left out in the cold, no way they can afford a $70,000 rock crawler queen in the garage and just driven occasionally.
