I've read a lot of people say it's one of the safest places they've been to, but I was hoping to hear from someone who is currently there or has been there in the past 6 months or so.

Christian, do you not use a UV filter to help protect your lens? They're super cheap and allows me not to have to worry too much about having my lens cap on, because if the filter gets scratches, they're easy to replace.
I know this is an older video. But what is the brand of the backpack that you are carrying? Has blue on the top part of the straps. It looks like the straps are really padded.
You really need to go at the pear of koh tao , and take a taxi boat to "Koh Nang Yvan view point" , its the MOST beautiful place i saw in thailand! I really recommend you to go there, you will not regret it ! But you need to go there in the day cause its closing at 17h ! Give me news if you go there! And its a really nostalgic video for me cause i went at the same view point and the same pizzeria as you!! Really good video! I also went to mango view point. Its near by sairee beach, actually its 5 minutes of scooter from the pizzeria you where! :)

Editing superb but there was something missing oh yes it was the good looking one of the couple lol your doing so well at this blogging/ making a living thing. I just left Koh Tao... If you're out of ideas, go visit Jims Bar on your way to Mango bay and meet the nicest people ever. Theres a wizard living up there! Or go to the abandoned resort at Mao bay! Totally decayed by nature and time and other things... So damn jealous of you being there right now...!

Xtian, when you go travel please please raise awareness to all of your viewers and tourists like urself. It maybe good that we are discovering new places and hidden gems in asia. But sometimes these places are ruined with trash and bombarded with people. And the locals sometimes seems to not care as long as the money comes in. So please try to educate people that we also have to take care of these places. You are a huge influence to many. Be the voice for the environment.
try putting more activities..scuba diving, paragliding n stuff like that ... otherwise it ll become repetitive... really like ur video...visit India sometime ... good luck :)
ForgtheFrog Nah man there's no water buffalo on the island but a crazy white beautiful quite beaches for yourself ;) Go to my channel and look for a vlog called "World Most Beautiful Beach" and take a sneak peak there.

Will check tomorrow :-), koh rong was on my list but after reading wikitravel I kinda got turned off by "there have been reports of water buffaloes attacking people unprovoked" or something like that, interfearing with my plans of sleeping in hammocks etc , maybe its not updated though. ^,- will be there within a year for sure if they're gone lol.
ForgtheFrog : I didn't see any water buffaloes when I was there and I think you can sleep in hammocks in peace ;) Oh one tip though is to stay away from the dock (if you want to enjoy the island real beauty, nature etc.. The dock is for party people, loud music etc..
Very inconvenient to travel to this island. Put a lot of tourist off by its lack of direct transportation to Koh Tao. Only 'crazy Caucasians' will do so.
