Fire Department Graduates 21 Recruits

  • A class of 21 recruits completed the Dayton Fire Department training program becoming Dayton's newest firefighters following a graduation ceremony on Friday, June 27, 2014. The firefighters were sworn-in by City Manager Tim Riordan and presented with certificates by Fire Director and Chief Jeffrey L. Payne. Elected officials and firefighter families were present. The class consists of the following graduates, who are now certified as Level II firefighters in Ohio:
    Matthew W. Allen
    Patrick Bernard II
    Michael C. Brown
    Ryan P. Corregan
    Kyle J. Crofford
    Wesley P. Crum
    Joseph M. Desch, Jr.
    Jason R. Fisher
    Matthew B. Fox
    Kyle W. Lupton
    Kelly M. McCarthy
    Adam J. O'Brien
    Neil C. Patnaude
    Michael A. Post
    Thomas A. Post
    Douglas A. Roebuck
    Kendall R. Rouse
    Matthew E. Stayner
    Aaron L. Thomas
    Shaun M. Wagner
    Brandon M. Workman
    In addition to the recruit class graduation, four firefighters will received certification as Dayton Fire Department Paramedics: Danielle A. Duffy, Matthew Q. Pawlak, Jonathan T. Shinkle and Zachary S. Simpkins.
    Following the graduation, the Fire Department and its newest firefighters presented an equipment and skills demonstration at the Fire Training Center, 200 McFadden Ave., Dayton, Ohio.
