Yes it does. I watched a different video which was showing it working on the Spark, then I tried the same on my Air and it worked exactly the same way. The other video used the app Floater, but it did the same job as this app in this video. I use an iPad for controlling the drone, but used an old Android tablet just to fake the GPS once. The drone is happy to use the iPad now in FCC mode. I still get the warning as shown here but do cancel and everything stays FCC. I don't intend to fly any further but hoped the higher power would reduce problems from local interference.
If I want to boost the signal I'll use the files at dji.retroroms.info/howto/dji_configs For example to get 0.4W and 2.57GHz. It's said those data are for the "video frequency". What happens with the signal not related to video? I mean the orders sent to the drone to control it. Will they also be boosted and work at 2.57GHz?
not working for me on mavic 2!! Edit: I even went to the states with my drone and the app no longer pops up message. It seems that on the mavic 2 the fcc/ce mode is switched and forced automatically now in background without user permission : (
@ureviews yes done indoors. Google maps shows usa location but as soon as mavic2 is powered up it immediatley updates. I even put the mavic in a closet and still the gps lock within 2 seconds of powering up. I believe the mavic2 stores the last location cor-ordinates flown becuase it's kind of unbelievable how quick it locks gps even in a closet. Oh well stuck in limited CE mode! Freaking regulations.
I am having issues doing this. Im in Australia. I have a mavic pro. I have done everything as seen in video but it just states "controller not connected". Have tried resetting app and drone etc.
Thank you for the info was going to get a mavic air in April but concerned about the range this might make a difference have you got any videos to confirm it works if it does I will definitely go air Cheers subscribed Chris
Pretty sure you do need the OTG cable. Though theoretically, it should work without. (also just in case it's not clear, you should always fly with the OTG cable connected for both ios and android)
Okay. I just bought the drone and ordered an OTG cable for My iPhone. I’ll try to get it in to FCC-mode with My girlfriends android without using the OTG-cable at first. If it doesnt work i’ll have to order one for her Sony.

It should still work as long as the fake gps works on your phone. I've noticed that fakegps doesn't work on some phone (some pixel phones, strangely enough)
I don't see why not... Just set it beforehand. They ask you to confirm before switching back so I assume they'll ask you and your can tell them cancel... (On the headset)
The fact that you can switch to 5.8 manually means you're in FCC mode. Frankly leaving it on auto is best. It picks the best channel for both frequencies.
I believe some people reported this works on the mavic pro too (in the comments). logically it should, cause by location dji controls the transmission power.

It's just to get it to that mode. Once it's in that mode you can tell DJI go to not revert back. So GPS for both the phone and the drone is correct. ALWAYS, verify the home location on the map in the app before flying.
Working fine with P4. But P4 is not using wifi. No problem. Use fake gps. Set it. Start dji go 4. Working fine, but i dont work with Dji go4 app V 4.2.12. 4.2.8 working fine.
