I love this page! I’m trying to choose between the Albrecht Dürers and the Tombows. I’ve had my eye on both of them for a while now, but I just can’t decide which I want most.
Thank you so much! 🤗💗 That would be so hard for me to choose (hence I have both 😂)....but it depends one what you want out of them. I definitely think the Albrecht Dürers are more versatile for majority of colouring books....you can do backgrounds with them, basing and use them dry too which works great! But they are both great mediums to have 😂
@@shelscolouringjourney Haha, yes, I do want both but they are both expensive! I have cheaper watercolour pencils and waterbased markers, so I’m not in a rush and I’m keeping an eye on the price. I think you are right that the Albrecht Dürers are more versatile, but the Tombows are just sooo beautiful.
What a good tutorial! I hardly ever use my soft pastels because then I color a lot that I don't want. I'm definitely going to give this a try if the elements on the front can be in the same color. Also nice that you use your waterbrush to add grass. This gives a nice soft effect. I already tried this with pencil but it takes a long time and the effect is not soft enough. I have learned a lot from this. Thanks for that!
Thank you so much! I am really happy to hear that I was able to share some ideas for you to try out and play around with yourself. Thank you for watching and I hope my future videos will be as helpful 🤗💗
@@shelscolouringjourney I am sure they will! I like the fact that you don’t use a lot of different stuff on each page. Not everybody has the luxury to buy every pencil or pen on earth 🤪 I love the limitation of the supplies and books you have. I mean… you don’t buy like 20 books a month I think
@@bubbleofcoloring Thank you so much! It makes me happy that you appreciate that…I was worried viewers would want to see haul videos (I personally LOVE watching them) but I barely buy 2 books a month 😂😂 I know, sounds pretty lame! 😂🤷🏻♀️
@@shelscolouringjourney No not at all! I think it shows that you are thinking through what is worth buying. I personally love watching those video’s too but who in the world can color in 20 books a month? 🤪
Awesome! I learned so much in this video from color choices, techniques and your thought process. It didn’t leave me guessing at all. And the picture looks beautiful👏. I just ordered Rita Berman’s books and I look forward to following along with you. Thank you for so generously sharing your talent😃.
Thank you so much! I am so glad it was helpful and you enjoyed watching the video....and I really look forward to you colouring along. I hope you enjoy her books as much as I do 🤗💗
Hi Shelly, great video, I love the background and I did not know Tombows had names, I just recently bought the portrait set and they only have numbers. I already messed up a page with them because I tried using them as watercolors 🙈 so the paper pilled (my waterbrush let’s put too much water) I tried using my Lumis but the paper would not cooperate. I may try with some Prismas. Great tips on how to use them, thank you! I’d give this video 2 likes if it was possible ❤️
Hi Yazmin...thank you so much! I am so sorry to hear they did not work for you....try not using too much water and move over the paper quite fast and hopefully that will be avoided! Yes tombows have names, but it is not written on the pens, just the numbers are 🤗💗
Hi! I came to watch this page tutorial and to ask you specifically if the watercolor bleeds through the page to the image on the back? I have 3 of her books and I've been wanting to use Artbeek, Ohuhu or caliart WATERCOLOR markers. I know alcohol will bleed but what about watercolor markers? They are beautiful books and I don't want to ruin my pages testing it🙂 Thanks in advance
Wow again! It is awesome how beautiful your pages turn out. All the techniques you use - I love it. I have to leran it too but I'm afaid of it right now, Maybe watching your videos more often and try it myself - one day :D . I'm only using colour pencils and Posca pens right now, also glitter pens, but what you do is special and turns out fantastic. Thanks so much for showing dear Shelly.
Thank you so much Beatrix! Glad you liked it - I tend to primarily use pencils too.....I think I love the result you get with pencils. I am still trying to learn other technique other than pencils 🤗💗
