if your going to get death note get the black editions or boxset because it costs a lot less… monster is going to be more money because each volumes costs $20 apposed to dn be costing $15… so definitely take the cost into account! I personally love both series… but i only have read the first volume of monster- i would say start out with death note because of the price and the amount of manga you get for what you pay!! and thank you!💗💗💗
