This actually made me realize the world isn't going to shit, bad things just happen every three seconds, and growing up we just actually start paying attention to news.
Same as it ever was if you ask me. 50 years ago, it was Vietnam. 80 years ago Hitler was invading poland. 140 years ago half the nation declared secession and we were at war with ourselves.
I think the difference is the lack of morale nowadays. In my opinion modern technology has us feeling more isolated, anxious and confused than ever before. Feels like there's a unique type of suffering in the air nowadays even among people who are well off.

why they stop
They stopped because the quality took a nosedive after roughly "He's Barack Obama, he's come to save the day", and people noticed. Plus I guess doing personalised e-cards pays the bills better, I dunno.
Once they couldn't do Bush anymore, the best singer was out too
They make money on the e-cards
I miss when satire was fair and funny. The first part rips Bush, the second is sympathetic, and both are entertaining.
It gives a good perspective that even with how shitty people can be even with the things they do or say it’s a nice reminder that they’re still human and are at least trying in some way

People dont realize how true that is for every president, regardless of how good or bad they are in the eyes of certain political parties
Three years late but it has to be said. Nobody on this Earth ages worse than a United States President.
Very true people be so quick to criticize a president for what they did and didn’t do but never understood how hard it is for them to pass the bills and laws they want to pass people still think the president can do whatever with the click of their finger but that’s not how the presidency works. A lot of it is due to us being strong militarily and economically. Though the end of ww2 is what really put us in this position since we were the only power, aside from the ussr, that came out better than we started. Then we got paranoid about communism taking over the world so we set out trying to curb it. Whether we were right or wrong to do this is up for debate, but now we're trying to clean up the mess the cold war left with terrorism, N. Korea, Iran, etc. Imo if we were to step down as "world police" it'd be much worse.
