    Wow! These comments are so interesting! I'm amazed at how many people dislike this collection. I absolutely love it! There's several patterns that I will purchase (including the blown out elbows lol) and others that I like but will not purchase due to my figure not looking good with it.

    Thank you the jumpsuit is too cute, it's an infinity tie top so you can tie it a couple of ways, tons of videos out there on how to. Also would work in drapey knit. The vintage dress with ribbon would be great with 1/2 or 3/4 circle skirt. Both are on my wish list hoping to p/u tomorrow sale 5.99 ea.

    1707 was gorgeous. I may be too short and round., but it looked great on the model. Also, I’d wear it and I am definitely not cool.1700 is cute, too. I’ll sew a matching face mask and go pick up my grocery order in it.

  • @sarah4264

    1708 is hot! I love it too but I'd definitely do some type of hook and eye closures going up the front or something. I'm 60 years old and I'd definitely wear both versions.

    My Tipton girl did it again. Love her and her sister's stuff. Loved your jumpsuit. Can't wait to see your make. Like you I loved the backless jumpsuit, but I have neither the place or the youth to pull that one off. The others that you were talking about not wearing to Target.....the one thing that I wish I could give to you is the confidence to make and wear whatever you wanted, wherever you wanted. I have a 21 year old granddaughter that would and probably will wear it to Target. When people look at her she just smiles and says hi, do you like? She has made friends that way. By the way she is 6ft. 1inchand wears a size 4_6. She also drives a huge forklift and runs a wearhouse in her daily life. At work she has to wear jeans and work shirts so the ultra feminine is her off time. Thanks for these videos.

    • @InsidetheHem
      @InsidetheHem  4 года назад

      It’s not a lack of confidence necessarily. I don’t really care what the other people at target think. It’s more of a practicality maybe?! I’ll meditate on this a little and see if I can find a deeper reason. Thanks for sharing about your daughter. She sounds like a real bad ass!!

    Oh My Gosh! Vogue hit it out of the park again. The Spring collection returned to their roots and so did this one -- on trend with a fashion forward look...and expert tailoring. I am so happy Vogue is back. Lindsey you did a great job reviewing these. And why not just own it at Target or where ever?

  • @missdemeanor3524
    @missdemeanor3524 4 года назад +4

    DYING to hear what you had to say about this collection, lol! That Rachel Comey jacket with the blown-out elbows is breaking my brain. I Googled 'jacket elbow cutouts' just for the heck of it and saw this jacket made up in white crinkle cotton gauze with the elbow ruffles all frayed out... AND IT LOOKS SUPER CUTE!!!! I. Kid. You. Not. And it sells for $575. I'm gonna do it because of the pure wtf-ness.
    This summer collection looks VERY French, if you compare it to some of those weird little indy french pattern co's. (Not Deer and Doe.)
    I'm digging the oddity of these looks and appreciate that they are going in a strong, definitely different direction than the other large pattern co's. They need to do this in order to compete with the indy companies. This is a case where competition makes everyone better.
    Do I like all their designs? Decidedly no. But I sure enjoyed looking at them. I'm looking forward to seeing you make that shorts jumper. I'm going to go for that green bias cut dress, because THAT reminds me of how luxe Vogue designs used to be! In all reality, I probably won't make it. But I will be happy knowing it's in my hoard!

      @@InsidetheHem ikr??? It's the fabric choice that's killing it on the Vogue website! But a LOT of the fabrics they used this season were confoundingly fugly. Cases in point: weird skirt with exposed lining & black elastic waistband & that mint oversized mint green polo shirt dress. I lol'd every time you paused before these while you tried not to let the fugly overwhelm you. Anyway, this was a fun video!

      Lol i saw the collection the other day and I was dying to hear what Lindsey had to say about the blown out elbows too!! I laughed when I initially saw it. My hubby and I cracked up listening to Lindsey’s description of it! 😄I did look up that jacket you discovered and in Canada its closer to $800 through Modesens. That image is definitely better than the image they used on Vogue to feature the pattern. For me, that jumper was the highlight of their collection. It will definitely be a pattern I will be trying.
      Be sure to post pics when you make the blown out elbow jacket! 😊

    I wasn’t really taken with them at all. I did like the blue floaty maxi dress (number 3) and the striped top with the incredible sleeve - but I would make the version with the short sleeves. And I did like the jumpsuit you loved!

    Didn't care for any of the dresses...but definitely had the jumpsuit and the last top on my buy list. I also liked the double breasted vest with the crop pant or shorts so maybe. How about a sew along for the jumpsuit? While we may be distancing this summer I can easily see myself lounging in my garden wearing such...cocktail in hand of course.

    The fit on a lot of these seem too big for the models at least at the top of some of them. Not a fan of most. I live in Georgia and don’t do long sleeves in summer.. I think my favorite pattern was the pant with the overlay. I would wear that in a heartbeat.. imagine an out door concert.. also my daughter who hates dresses could wear that to any special occasion event with the right fabric.

    I have to say that the one at 37:15 looks like a design student tried to put in as many techniques that they could think of. Does not work. And the sleeves on the blouse at 29:08 will be one of those "what was I thinking" situations. I do love that green bias dress (not on me), it is fantastic. Sandra's outfit is sort of rock-a-billy. I do like the style of the yellow top.

    Well, I made V1697 (the backless dress) and I was so disappointed. First, finding silk 60" wide was impossible. I ended up buying it on white and dying it green ( limited success). But worse - this fabric had no Couture finishes: no French seams, no instructions how to keep the neckline from stretching out, and the drapey back piece isn't lined so the insude of the fabric shows. 😢

    v1710 - there are no words. I was ROFL; just no! The Sandra Betzina were both bizarre. The first (v1695) with the sleeves reminded me of a graduation gown and the skirt (v1705) of other was reminiscent of Heidi in the Alps (or perhaps Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music).
