Thanks as always Richard. I call my TR3 Prince Charles. Took him out after changing plugs to NGK BPR6HS and new fuel filter fix. Great 1st Spring day ride. I will be out with the top down all this weekend.
Nice educational video on how to trouble shoot a fuel system problem! By the way, it looks like you saved yourself some time and money on a fuel pump!!!
I also have a 1957 TR3, and I am having fuel issues as well. It just takes ages to start and trying to pinpoint where the problem is. I see that my sediment chamber next to the puel pump is full of gas. I opened the float chamber next to the carburetors and they were dry. So I poured gas in them at your suggestion, but I still couldn't get the car to start. My first thought is the fuel pump isn't working, but if it isn't working how is the sediment chamber filling up? I don't have any fuel filters in between the pump and the carburetors, at your suggestion I purchased a Dorman in-line fuel filter it will be delivered in a couple of days. In the case if you have any thoughts please let me know in the meantime I will wait for my fuel filter! Thanks for your very instructional video - it really explains a lot to me about this whole mechanism.
Take the hose from the fuel pump to the carburetor and run it into a jar. Turn it over to see if the jar fills would be my start. If the fuel pump working check the float valve s in both carbs. They could be stuck closed but if you have manually filled the bowls and still nothing there could be a spark issue. Let me know?
@@TRRehab OK great I will try that. I also need to check the spark issue as this could really be the problem. No use redoing the fuel system if we have a spark issue!
@@caseycat43 I don't believe there is a message that I have not answered within 24 hours. Not the best mechanic but I am excellent on returning messages. I hope it solves your issue. Check your fuel line hoses if it is the filter. Mine was decaying on the inside. That was the source of the problem.
Well done a good diagnosis. Kind regards, Richard

Good troubleshooting and a nice easy fix.
Some things are as simple as the seem. I'm no mechanic but loving the journey.

Awesome. Saved yourself some wasted work rebuilding a forum pump. Glad you didn't listen to me!!
I actually did listen Chris. I ordered 3 fuel pump kits. I think I will do a video on rebuilding the pump. I'm learning as I go my friend.
