I've build all my cavalry as horse archers because of their movement. I can't see the spears doing a thing and as you said, light cavalry is a great place to put non- combat characters into to keep safe.
Danny didn't talk about it, but Horse Archers have Chariot Runners too, so your Chariots can see and charge through them. Same thing with the Skeleton Skirmishers. Reserve Move on both Horse Archers and Chariots is so good.
Thse breakdowns/summaries are so great for me without the books to get a grasp of each faction. I love it!

Hey Our Goal is to review all the factions and game rules. We should be recording "the good guys" this week.

fast cav is very useful in game. good news most army's have access to them sorry dwarves
