I think new version is better. This version sounds like unreleased demo and sounds different, but this version needed some new. New version is sick and I am glad that they are risking. I think Avicii would be proud with new version!
I don't get why so many cry after this version. It's not the final product and was never meant to. Similiar to 'Levels' Tim had a cool melody and just searched for another part (in 'Levels' case Etta James vocals) that would fit. Here Tim used the violin from his other scrapped song simply named 'India'. From the behind the scenes video we can tell that the final released version is the closest we can get to his version in mind.

Yes there was an different version of this song that was made in 2016s but it uses plugin plucks that sounded too similar to his old track 'Superlove with Lenny Kravitz'. This is also a problem with keeping too many unreleased tracks that sounded old for today. Its either he has to change his style to sell or lay low like Eric Prydz.
