Dude, this is a simple story. It was interesting because of the mangha art, but don't act like the MC is ever put under any threat of defeat. It's been years since I read, but he's probably already gotten his worse whooping already. Maybe the anime can make us feel more for the side characters, but compared to One Punch Man, it was overall poorly done.

At this point Jin woo beat Kang tho and got 5 abilities pts and stealth. Kang was said to b one of the stronger in that rank. After the fight he was probably low a rank. Still would lose, but would be very close. It’s not till he gets his actual power he could beat a strong a rank like jinchu woo
There were probably four prisoners also in the manhwa as much I remember... Rather anime has 3 of them... I honestly think manhwa was better for this part... It should have been shown in anime what Jinwoo did
Guys just from a guy that read the books the difference between ranks in this world is like comparing a small dog to a rhino. Remember the last episode that 1 B rank could easily take 3 C ranks. And S ranks here are leaps above to where no one knows the limits of what one can be as far as power

Loved the episode, and as a side-note: The fight looked more difficult in the manhwa, and in here it looked an easy thing because everything was shown too fast (imo it was the correct timing of the fight, since it was an encounter of two speed-based opponents, but if you don't have that into consideration, you might get confused and think that it was an easy match). If you analyze the fight you can tell that Sung Jinwoo didn't win entirely on his own. Jinwoo didn't beat Kang easily, he had to use the poison to debuff him from the very beginning of the fight, and remember that poison is very powerful to kill almost instantly, but Kang still hold its own even after being poisoned, plus, Jinwoo had to use the Full Recovery reward of the system to get healed from his injuries, especially his leg injury, to avoid being killed since Kang Taeshik already had him there, and as an ace under his sleeve, Jinwoo had his Murderous Intent skill to paralyze Kang on the last moment and immediately hit his heart before he could recover from the skill effect, he had to use a lot of tricks to beat this guy, because otherwise he would have lost the fight. That explains why Jinwoo does make a correct assessment of his skills and knows that he can't beat the A-rank supervisor, since they are still in two separate levels. Remember there is a huge difference between ranks, they are not scaled in equal amounts of power. The top B-rank would never be able to beat the weakest A-rank. On another note, in the manhwa, there was one surviving prisoner that escaped by faking his death, but Jinwoo caught him and throw him as bait for the dungeon boss, right after telling him "Kang might have been evil, but he was right on the fact that monsters like you shouldn't get to the outside world".

@Akshay_PJO they're irrelevant in the latter stages of the plot because their opponents are monarchs..beru nearly merked everybody so it makes sense that the power gap is that large between the s ranks and monarchs .. "solo leveling" even the title gives it away jinwoo is basically the only one that has the power to save the world and all the characters introduced are either stepping stones to get to that level or family and friends that support him emotionally its not like naruto where the world is set in a way where their are multiple people that could've saved the shinobi world if they had the mindset and same beliefs as naruto its a completely different narrative I get why people don't like that about solo leveling but it's not trying to be like every other shounen it's something different just like aot but aot dives into other characters more because all their choices lead up to erens final decision... the anime is flushing out characters more with extra scenes so that will help with world building and will dive into the other characters more
@@h2ocobra811 I don't disagree at all. I don't hate the story, in fact I quite like it. I was just stating that it's not much of a story beyond "Jinwoo gets hax and becomes OP". Now I appreciate that the anime seems to be following the LN afaik, fleshing out the side characters and adding scenes like the opening one. Also one thing the anime is doing better is giving nuance to Jinwoo's darker side. As one comment so eloquently put it, "in the manhwa, he becomes supreme edge lord as soon as he gets out of the hospital." 🤣
Woo Jinchul is also Cream of the Crop within A-Rankers, remember he tanked those punches from Chairman Go who's a top level S-Ranker himself. He also will have pretty impressive feats next season so it's safe to say that this version of Jinwoo most likely wouldn't win against him
"Do you remember this?" That item drop is what Jinwoo gave her when he was left behind in the double dungeon, promising her dinner when they get out. So that question is essentially her offering/asking him to have a date with her.
Woo Jinchul is not an average A rank. He's in the top of A ranks. Woo Jinchul is the pride of the Hunter's Association because he is the highest ranked hunter in their employ AFTER Go Gunghee himself who is a literal S rank BEAST. Not many high ranking hunters decide to work for the Association since joining a guild would be more lucrative.
The fact that this is NOT EVEN THE MAIN PLOT IS CRAZY 💀 (iykyk🥶) Btw don't forget that Jin woo WANTS TO HIDE HIS POWERS SO HE'LL ONLY INTERVENE WHEN THERE IS NO HOPE AT ALL ... JUST TO LET U KNOW🫰
The mana crystall she should him in the end was the one he gave her, before she left the double dungeon. It was meant to be an invitation for dinner and then a farewell gift.
He will get stronger yes, but the difference between B rank and A rank is HUGE. So let alone A rank to S rank. And they will explain better later but S-rank is different. The power meter to differentiate S rank is weird cause some S ranks are much MUCH stronger than other S ranks. Hope I helped.
You gotta think about it like the NBA vs the G league or the league right under. The best guy in the second league on his best day, wouldnt stand a chance with an average NBA player. Sung Jinwoo can sense power levels so id trust him if he says he doesnt stand a chance with A ranks yet. I think like A ranks are farrrrr above B ranks, just as B rank is FARRRR above C ranks. So yeah, I doubt hed be able to take him - at this point in time
the reason i think jin woo didnt think he could go up against the A rank even tho he beat Kang (B Rank) is because hes isnt really stronger than A rank , he was matched with Kang until the System identified kang as a enemy , even jin woo says " oh now you've done it , even the system noticed " so i think he surpasses ranks when the system notifies him with a enemy quest or maybe even a different quest , i feel like hes probably a high B rank right now
"There has to be more to this" he said "There has to be a big twist in this show at some point" , let me tell you , you are not ready for what is about to come in the last 2 episodes xD
"I've trained S ranked hunters before" "Then I'd say your shadow stretches into some really nasty places and you'll probably get as strong as those places are dark." Please remember these quotes.
Did the part about him losing his soul/humanity as he continues to level up just go right over their heads? The show is literally illustrating that there is a cost to this power.
Murderous intent is a skill that gives a debuff -50% to all stats on any target.. so Jinwoo could've used it from the get-go but I think deep down he didn't wanna kill him at first
Nah, Jin knows exactly how strong he is, perception stat aside, you gotta remember this is the same guy who fought that Cerburus monster head on thinking he could win initially, so for Jinwoo to think that the A rank is too strong for him is no exaggeration. Remember the difference in ranks is wide, to the point where even a top B rank would still lose 9 out of 10 times by themselves to a low A rank and call me crazy but I don't think that guy is simply a low A rank. Not to mention in the episode itself we saw how Kang easily essentially took out Jinwoo's whole squad of C and D ranks. The only reason the old guy could even attempt to fight Kang was because our healer is B Rank herself. So that just shows one B rank could take out a whole squad of C ranks and even a top tier C rank boosted by a mage with relative ease so it's no stretch to think an A rank could do the same, even to Jinwoo.
Each rank is divided into 10 levels. For instance a C rank can be rated from C1-C10. Jinwoo is probably a B10 at the end of this episode. The problem is the gap in power from B10 to A1 is quite big since A rank is rare S ranks are ultra rare. The power gap from A10 to S1 is larger than all the other ranks combined.
That part people are talking about that they cut out wasn’t needed in the anime that shows jinwoo too deep in early on in the story and plus he didn’t know what the prisoners did exactly so it would be weird just to kill someone because someone else said they deserved it.
Jin woo actually low-mid difted Kang who is stated to be one of the strongest in class B so someone of the Class A can still defeat Jin Woo with mid or high diff.
I've not read the manga or anything but I think you are taking too lightly how big the difference is between people one rank above/below. It's not like they are slightly stronger if they are a rank higher, its magnitudes to my understanding.
Think of ranks as levels, the higher level you are, the higher the XP required to get to the next level. So the lowest A-rank is many times stronger than the strongest B-rank. And of course, S-Rank would be 100 times stronger than A. And there is a level even after that later in the story.
In the manhwa one prisoner mannaged to escape Kang and was hiding, but Jinwoo caught him and fed him to the monsters. Sad they didnt include this but other than that great episode, even better are coming.
Sad that mr. Kim died when he's about to apologize. This may have been overlooked but he did give a proper apology to Jinwoo when he somewhat bowed upon dying. The bow after his last breath signifies a gesture of sincere apology rather than death IMO.
Kang: it is great dagger what is its rank? Jinwoo: this dagger is rated like my rank Kang: an E rank dagger? How can it hurt a B rank hunter like me Jibwoo: no my daggers are rated E for Everyone
the series of encounters till now let him know how much stronger he is getting... remember his perception is getting way better at measuring oponents (and knowing how much he can chew) .. the fact that he said he cant fight the A rank " YET " is because A ranker is indeed pretty strong (even A and S are leagues appart, the scale goes wider from A).. the story still has some CRAZY/BROKEN sht left haha ... it will be fun to watch your reactions in about 3 to 4 chaps. hopefully the first season covers enough i think it should. o7
The big twist isn't going to come until season 2. Remember that it takes at least 20 average C-ranks to kill an average B-rank. An A-rank is 10 times stronger than a B-rank. So you'll need at lease 200 average B-ranks to kill an average A-rank.
Spoilers (Ranking System in Solo Leveling for those who didnt read the manhwa).... E Rank D Rank C Rank B Rank A Rank S Rank (most guild masters and vice guild masters) .... National Level Rank Hunters - hunters with power in comparison to a country (mostly hunters who already cleared a S Rank Gate)
If he saying that he can’t take an A rank that is basically telling us how much of a gap there is from B rank to A rank, it’s not that he is doubting himself they are just showing us power scaling by saying that
Might be too late but jinchul is at the top of A ranks. He's almost an S rank. Jinwoo also can detect the strength level of others with his perception.
Rank wise there are obviously E to S rank but there is also SS rank and SSS rank and higher. The reason it hasn’t been mentioned is because the device they use is an S rank device and therefore cannot measure anything above itself. Therefore two people can be S rank but one can be 100x more powerful
Remember this: They all the same rank but they aren't have the same power level. Cha hae- S rank Choi- S rank Baek- S rank But among the 3 Cha Hae is the most powerful.
Guys lets not forget that the power level isnt just for fun. One average B-Rank can take on 10 strongest C-rank. By average i mean that within those ranks you can be low to highest tier which within themselves have a huge difference. Without his full recovery, insane debuff and Speed increase which are currently his three available skills , Jin woo was around the same level as this B+ Rank. It would take at least 10 of those B ranks to Beat a High tier A rank. Jin woo has levelled up his perception and knows very well he would get clapped . but not for long !

Yeah. This aint even Season 1. This is just the prologue. 😂
Woo Jinchul is also Cream of the Crop within A-Rankers, remember he tanked those punches from Chairman Go who's a top level S-Ranker himself. He also will have pretty impressive feats next season so it's safe to say that this version of Jinwoo most likely wouldn't win against him
They think Sung Jin-Woo is broken now… 😂
You’ll begin to see how broken he can become by episode 12.
Best part is he hasn’t even scratched the surface of how broken he is
Detective is also a top tier A rank hunter. The power levels goes up exponentially from E to S rank. Im sure they mentionned it in previous episodes.
"Do you remember this?"
That item drop is what Jinwoo gave her when he was left behind in the double dungeon, promising her dinner when they get out.
The fact that this is NOT EVEN THE MAIN PLOT IS CRAZY 💀
(iykyk🥶)
Btw don't forget that Jin woo WANTS TO HIDE HIS POWERS SO HE'LL ONLY INTERVENE WHEN THERE IS NO HOPE AT ALL ... JUST TO LET U KNOW🫰
I NEED THAT WORD I NEEED IT

Arise.
In this episode jin woo is like between a B and A rank, basically he just at the peak of B rank.
Rice has common sense she understands whats going on and why things happen for a reason while ginger gets confused and lost hahaha
So yeah, I doubt hed be able to take him - at this point in time
the reason i think jin woo didnt think he could go up against the A rank even tho he beat Kang (B Rank) is because hes isnt really stronger than A rank , he was matched with Kang until the System identified kang as a enemy , even jin woo says " oh now you've done it , even the system noticed " so i think he surpasses ranks when the system notifies him with a enemy quest or maybe even a different quest , i feel like hes probably a high B rank right now
16:26 Keep in mind, it would be a big risk getting rid of a rich guy. That father offered him 30billion, which is a crazy amount
he doesnt know how strong he is because of his special situation he has no one to compare his self to.
He beat Kang with a full healing, without it he was done. That makes him as good as Kang and WAY weaker than A rank hunters.
in the comic, one of the criminals survived, and jin woo took him to the boss room so goblings could kill him
"There has to be more to this" he said "There has to be a big twist in this show at some point" , let me tell you , you are not ready for what is about to come in the last 2 episodes xD
"I've trained S ranked hunters before"
"Then I'd say your shadow stretches into some really nasty places and you'll probably get as strong as those places are dark."
Please remember these quotes.
*If you gaze for long into an abyss… the abyss gazes also into you*
Why no one said that to Eren ?
Did the part about him losing his soul/humanity as he continues to level up just go right over their heads? The show is literally illustrating that there is a cost to this power.
They're not that focused at all and still act like they know shit 😂😂
No reason to kill the dad... its not like he can go to the police.
"The hitman I ordered appears to me a maniac!"
Jin Chul is the peak of Class A. So Kang wasn't even close to Chul.
Just got a wait about ten years to see how broken he gets hahah
I'm so excited for THAT "biggest twist"
I just hope they don't end the season with that 🤣
The scale of action and disasters will just grow more and more in future
the warm up jumps is what goku did before broly i think it was a tribute. Not sure if it happened in manga or not but still cool
Top tier of any rank is at least ~10x weaker than lowest tier of the next rank up. And the higher rank you go the larger the gap in strength becomes.
Can’t wait for the next arc 💪we will see how op he will get 😋
I just finished to watch this 9 episode and when i get gere on Yourube first thing that appear was this 😅,nice
Next Arc is the one which everyone is waiting for 😈
You gotta keep in mind that jin had to use full recovery so by just relying on that the A rank would slap hil out
9:40 the goku warm up jump🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Kang: it is great dagger what is its rank?
Jinwoo: this dagger is rated like my rank
Kang: an E rank dagger? How can it hurt a B rank hunter like me
Jibwoo: no my daggers are rated E for Everyone
Thats goku warmup. Tribute to the legend❤
there's a special class within S-Rank its called National level hunter
the series of encounters till now let him know how much stronger he is getting... remember his perception is getting way better at measuring oponents (and knowing how much he can chew) .. the fact that he said he cant fight the A rank " YET " is because A ranker is indeed pretty strong (even A and S are leagues appart, the scale goes wider from A).. the story still has some CRAZY/BROKEN sht left haha ... it will be fun to watch your reactions in about 3 to 4 chaps. hopefully the first season covers enough i think it should. o7
The big twist isn't going to come until season 2. Remember that it takes at least 20 average C-ranks to kill an average B-rank. An A-rank is 10 times stronger than a B-rank. So you'll need at lease 200 average B-ranks to kill an average A-rank.

National Level Rank Hunters - hunters with power in comparison to a country (mostly hunters who already cleared a S Rank Gate)
Jinwoo is basically B+ rank at this point, he really only beat Kang easily because of Full Recovery. Otherwise he would’ve had a much harder time.
The gap between the ranks really do differ
I think each rank is like 10 times as powerful as the previous so thats why hes cautious of the A rank guy at the end.
The ranks are exponential so the difference between A and b is pretty large.
10 S ranks to beat a SS rank
10 A ranks to beat a S rank
10 B ranks to beat a A rank
10 C ranks to beat a B rank
That's crazy
It's literally called "SOLO Leveling" 🙄
Literally 🙄
🙄
🙄
🙄
🙄GROUP leveling
Rank wise there are obviously E to S rank but there is also SS rank and SSS rank and higher. The reason it hasn’t been mentioned is because the device they use is an S rank device and therefore cannot measure anything above itself. Therefore two people can be S rank but one can be 100x more powerful
THATS JUST 1% OFF HIS STRENGTH, BE PATIENT, WAIT UNTIL U GUYS SEE JINWO TRUE STRENGTH, ARISEEEEE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Remember this:
They all the same rank but they aren't have the same power level.
Cha hae- S rank
Choi- S rank
Baek- S rank
But among the 3 Cha Hae is the most powerful.
Even villain have someone that can be called "friend", thats why he just voluntered to kill his friend doughter murdered.
