Great little video. We are looking forward to going up to the NYMR next year as I haven’t been ther for about 30 years. Hopefully it’s changed at. 😂. Thanks Jen.
Hi it's Mike in Canada 🇨🇦 very nice area to scale and wonderful weed fields get yourself some dried flower arrangement weeds and arrangement fill. It works great for large field weeds and I use them on my rail banks and gardens. I sometimes put some colored arrangement filler in between the ties but low profile so they don't get caught in the engine linkage looks like wild weeds growing between the ties its really cool. It makes the scenery very realistic try some in your layout and use white glue to glue them in. Have fun with your layout
@@_j_loco_ Hopefully with a course of antirobitics for 825 to stop infection and good aftercare plan she'll be fine. A decent course of strong Yorkshire tea in the boiler may keep her comfortable.
I was there last week at the NYMR. It was brilliant seeing the 9f. Great little short video J loco. Keep on with the creativity and your hard work on the layout👍.
I've partook in an English Feast, Yorkshire Pudding was a side dish with meat juice poured over top from the Standing Rib Roast. I don't understand whats not to like about that ?
Hi Jen. Take a trip to your local arts and craft store. They usually have bags of lichen and stuff that comes in handy for all kinds of foliage. Keep in mind the goal is to make your scenery look like what you want. Trick the human eyes is actually easy. So I am saying that don't try so hard to detail down to the leaf but trick the eye to think you did model every leaf and branch. Look out in the fields and woods to find tree trinks from twigs and use your imagination. Jen alway looking gorgous. Love your long hair amd pretty smile. Great video and editing. G
Hi J Loco, for the bramble bushes get some horse hair spray paint it brown woody colors to resemble the main runners of the bramble bush, leave to dry, then glue in place on layout, then use a cheap non smelling hair spray (one with good tackiness) for gluing the bushes leaves in place, for the leaves use a mix of greens sawdust and sprinkle over the horse hair to resemble the leaves. For the Brambles use very small dabs with a fine paint brush of yr selected color paint to represent the Brambles. hope this helps. might see you at the NYMR in a few weeks time, youll not miss me ill be with a daft border collie lol
Thank you for the Great ideas 💕 I need to try and do this! I shall keep an eye open...I love dogs so always notice then all 😁👍 hope you have a great time
Not really into trains, even tho steam trains have there own natural beauty. I do love the miniature world and id love to have ur skills and vision to do somthing like this. Is so nice to see another girl in this very male dominated hobby, that i not taken up yet lol. If was going too I only live few miles from the peco factory in Beer Devon. Xx
Thank you for your lovely comment. I hope you do decide to create a railway world too! Although it could get expensive if you live so close to Peco 😁 thankyou again appreciate you taking the time to comment 💕
Great Electric I am hoping to get a day there...it clashes with kwvr and East Lancs so need to make a decision 😁but I do want to see making Tracks so MK may just get it over the others. Warley I am on a mainline trip the one day of it so it depends how I feel the other and how much I spend at GETS 😂😂😂
Dont forget the scenery will be different depending on what era your modelling, in the 20s and 30s the embankments would be generally cut short grass up to the railway boundry fences, and travelling by train in those days you would have been able to see the scenery undisturbed for a long way around, look at photos of that era and notice the difference to today! By the 1970s 80s everything was starting to get overgrown, bushes , weeds, trees. Today is much the same, travel by train today, is a bit like being on the motorway, you cant see the countryside.
Hello Jennifer. According to Google Maps, the viewing area (Lat 54.43215783097666, Lon -0.7260472479272205) is 20 metres long, and about 2.5 metres long at its widest point. The narrow extension is about 9 metres in length. I hope this helps 🕊 💞
It's many years since I visited NYMR but would love to do so again. I would hope that your representation of a viewing area will be in a better condition than that one, Jen! May I suggest a 3D printed version of you looking down from the viewing area?
Can't help feeling you might find a drone useful? For endless fields you could paint a watercolour diorama if you have those skills. Depends if you prefer scenery or model engines. We're all different when it comes to these things so you have to do what's right for you.
It's a shame with that viewing position they dont cut the trees and overgrowth back a little. Leave enough for the wildlife abd trim it sympathetically.

Thank you 💕 I highly recommend NYMR....I don't think you will be disappointed 💕

Thank you 😊 me too 💕
This will be a great addition to your layout. I’m looking forward to your progress.

Nice one Jen. it's nice to see SR S15 825 . I didn't know she was poorly.
Yes sadly...think it was May time she was withdrawn due to the issue found

Great video some good shots for your research....It a shame how viewing areas always get overgrown so are no longer viewing areas.😥
Thank you 😊 yes although it is natural beauty I do worry eventually it will obscure any views into the mpd area
@@_j_loco_ It is a shame they cannot maintain it though...You might have to buy more hedges and trees.Take care.
