I read the cars scrapped because of ULEZ being sent to Ukraine. So the cars are bad for climate in London but OK in Ukraine.
It's OK, car emissions see London's ULEZ signs and turn back around to a poor country where bombs put so much particulates in the air you can't blame them for not being worried about the miniscule % of particulates from uncompliant cars within the 12% of particulates that come from all cars from everywhere. @@joeoria4497 I drive a truck into London daily.. I don't pay ulez, congestion charge or anything. Company deals with that. If they have an issue it's down to them. I get my wage. Nothing to do with the truck drivers. Company pays my parking tickets as well so really have no worries going into London.

The ULEZ expansion was a condition by the then transport sec ( Schapps ) for bailing out tfl/tube after covid. Ulez from inception was a tory idea. Now they are using it ( alongside brainwashing channels like this one ) for political point scoring.
The same would go for housing, immigration, the NHS and leaving the EU in that it would all be far worse if Labour was in charge even though this tory government have been the worst in history.

TFL dont have a leg to stand on, NONE of the fines imposed on uk motorists are enforcable because the signs are deemed unlawful in a court so imposing fines on any foreign driver is impossible as they wont know without correct signage

I used to have to drive into central London a few weeks back with work. Too stressful these days. Its not the traffic you need to watch, it’s all the signs and road markings. All designed to catch you out to generate fines. Dreadful place.

Spent a lot of my yoof living, working and partying in London. Go there occasionally but it feels totally different. London used to feel safe and fun back in the Eighties.

No mention of the tories getting shot of 21,000 fully trained up plod, 9,000 of those in the capital. Johnson then closed 65 police front desks when he was building 50million quid invisible bridges and zip lining across the olympic stadium.
Each copper costs £59,000 to train, now multiply that by the 20,000 new ones that the tories brought in to replace the 21,000 they got rid of in the first place.

The ULEZ charges/fines are likely to be passed onto consumers! Inflating the costs of essentials like food and clothing. Such schemes elsewhere in Britain will do likewise. Only the richest will be able to live and work within the boundaries of these schemes.

What about the other Cities and signs? Anyway,you do not purchase "anything" without "seeing" the price first. You are all being coned by hearsay and that is being condoned by authority and time it was either withdrawn or properly signed. Without priceing on every sign,clearly stating the amount payable in every district,all monies paid so far " must" be refunded untill the matter has been corrected.
A scaffolder has already successfully had his fines reversed on the same basis that the signs do not make it clear drivers are entering a charging zone in October. It was a lower court, so not deemed a precedent for other cases, but the lawyers acting for the Dutch firm may wish to use it, as it means Khan was warned his signs are not clear and did nothing.
Imagine this could caused millions plus legal costs which could decimate London!!

There is a precedent for this, Noel Wilcox (Elevation Access Scaffolding) won a court case against TFL after a Tribunal found signage for Lez wasn’t “authorised and lawful.” and was awarded a substantial amount of money, unfortunately (as far as I know) he still has not received it.
A Tribunal is not binding on other peoples cases, unless it is appealed. TFL didn't bother to turn up in his case. Everybody should appeal their TFL fine. Unfortunately in the UK too many people just pay up and moan. This money is then used in the pot to prosecute those who do not appeal and then defend TFL if people challenge them. ,
Fingers and everything else crossed Howard gets voted in as London Mayor.

That would really be a shame all that money going back to the people. They will find away not to give it back. Simple that turns in to a nightmare for all the other fines. So really hope it goes through but they will change the law so not too.

You notice the patten TFL and councils is to confuse the driver as much as they can.
So many roads signs to read while driving and up so high so you miss them or in a awkward position so a bus hides them.
When the woman designed the roads signs they were meant to be easy to read.

Legal question, is it possible to sue Sadiq Khan directly and bypass him hiding behind the tax payers money available to him by suing the ULEZ company? If everyone sued him directly it would bankrupt him and he would soon change his mind about ULEZ charges.
