Nice finds! Bushwacking into spots like this is tough. I do use my machete some when the going gets bad. My new Nox 900 has cam locks on the shaft so it slided up short - makes it easier to get through brush. I rechecked a colonial site near my home and found a .44 sharps cartridge with the double rim strike. This gun was used at the tail end of the Civil War - some later found their way to Nova Scotia - I have found a few of these cases with the new detector.
Charley, I've been watching and enjoying your videos for quite some time now. I've seen you fight your way thru all the heavy growth many a time. On that note, may I make a suggestion ? May I suggest that you get yourself a machete to keep in your backpack ? That way when you have to fight your way thru all the thick heavy bushes and vines you can take the machete out and chop your way thru it all. Just a thought.
People did a lot of walking back in the day to get where they were going! Some soldier just heading home camping along the way, lost his button! I like stories!
I've been watching your videos for quite a while and I wonder if you are packing...I remember the bear sniffing around you and Dame some time ago and ever since then, I have been concerned about your safety.... Hope you have that little persuader close at hand .. Stay safe and Be Blessed 🙏...
In 1939 the US did a survey and found that there were about 246 thousand miles of stone walls. 240 thousand were in New England. By 1800's the Europeans had cleared about 75% of New England. Deforested for building, fences and heating. Imagine how different it must have looked. Fields and mountains with just stumps and rock walls.
I think that lady's name is Brittany or something, she's holding an OXEN prod and probably a stalk of corn, maybe,.. I think. It got less confusing when they just put the "ONE CENT" logo on the back 😂. GREAT VID, GREAT FINDS! I wish you a future filled with things, stuff, and otherwise awesome what-cha-ma-call its! I'm in historic Oxford GA (home) and presently headed across the road to hunt the park. Thanks for your relentless searching and posts ❤
Great Dig DC iv been flying my drone in the spring and fall and gps tagging each spot it saves a lot of leg work you can definitely see the activity spot Dig on my friend 🌎✌️🖖Dig
I wonder if a civil war veteran was living here on the property and may have become a farmer and he may have dropped stuff while he was working on the farm.
Or he got home from the war and was out hunting years later with his tattered old civil war jacket on and just happened to lose a button on top of a colonial homesite he didn't even know about.
Maybe it was a “deserter” civil war soldier who went up to the woods to hide. Found the old structure imprint and camped there. Never know man. Makes your mind wonder. One of my favorite things about this hobby.
That's some good orienteering, Charlie. Do you carry a compass, GPSr? Is there cell phone service up in those mountains in case you get lost? Not all who wander are lost.

This feels like a found footage horror film!

I did not know this, very interesting, 🙏 thanks
I've had that thought myself. Here in Maine we're mostly forest. I can barely comprehend the whole of New England being fields.
Maybe that soldier had family from that homestead and he was returning after the war. Good find
Awesome hunt Charlie!!
Definitely worth the hike... wait... its always worth the hike👍🏼

Her names Brittania. Could be misspelling that. Lol. That's an awesome find. All these years/centuries it's been there. Crazy.

A long trek and several pleasant recoveries to make for an awesome Not Thursday
What a day Charlie! Seriously great finds dude. The Eagle button was like a grand slam in the ninth inning
Cool Charlie is back on the hunt
Very interesting. Coolfind with that civil war button. 😊😊
Awesome, awesome, Not Thursday Charlie. Very cool indeed. Joyce ❤️🙏🇺🇸
That was a good hunt! I found an CW eagle button at a one room school house site in Iowa. That for me was unexpected.
Bushwhacking. Absolutely my favorite woods adventure.

Very interesting hunt, Charlie.. Thank you very much!
Awesome finds. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!!!
Charlie, I hope you always tell Jen where you are going. If something happened to you out there, they wouldn’t find your body for 50 years. Good luck.
Hello Chatlie😊

or he saw to much of the horrors of war and wanted solitude to forget that.
nice charlie ,love watching you walk and find stuff!
Wow so many great finds today😊
Great finds!!
That civil war button is a infantry because it has the capital I in the middle of the shield !
Great video, nice finds. Newbie to your channel and loving it.
Looks like a large cent
You could also carry flagging tape and mark your trail.

I've noticed that on a few other RUclips channels also !
I added a comment on a video earlier today and it was put on the video I previously watched.
@@McBain-qe2jhSame here. It was the weirdest thing. 🤔
Snoopy: Nobody respects Charlie Brown.

the royal lady on the back....uh...you mean Britannia?
QUITCHURBITCHIN!
I don't understand why you don't use a spray water bottle like others do?
You need OnX
Could be a war vet that needed to get away from others
Why are you not frightened of finding a bear?.
PROBABLY A FARTHING.
