Loved architects forever, this song is basically a big fuck you to the people that were complaining they weren’t heavy anymore. Just read the lyrics it’s all aimed towards fans
Fun thing about this is that it was made to shut up the haters. Like in their thumbnail even, you can see the "are you happy now". The previous 3 albums were a little soft for some so they bashed them. THIS, is HEAVY!
Definitely check out more architects. They were heavy in the older days until their guitarist passed from cancer. He was the main song writer and they just tried to have fun writing again. Check out Doomsday, I believe it was the first single after Tom's passing.
This song was made for their “fans” who turned on them because Architects wanted to try a different sound and write different music. They lost their founding member and primary song writer to cancer, and Sam, the lead singer would get comments saying “Tom would be rolling in his grave” as a reaction to their “softer” sounds. It was awful how they were treated. If you guys want to check out more Architects check out “Gone With the Wind” and “Memento Mori” those two songs were written by Tom knowing he was going to be passing. They are masterpieces and truly hauntingly beautiful song. “Doomsday” is another great song and it’s the rest of the bands way of processing their grief.
Check out the whole album All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us, goosebumps and heaviness guaranteed, so much emotion on that one cause it was Tom’s (founding guitarist and Dan’s brother) last album before he sadly passed away
Animals at abbye road was my accidental intro to them an then this. Then because i fixate i did like a full history on them 😂 which helps with understanding the anger lol
Please do a reaction to, Hereafter, by Architects. That should be a good one to go back to, and just go backwards, so you can hear just how heavy they were.
Would definitely recommend checking out more of their stuff! Some thoughts if you do want to check out more: All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us and Lost Forever // Lost Together are generally considered their best work (Momento Mori is a masterpiece), though Daybreaker, Holy Hell and Hollow Crown are equally unreal albums imo. Nightmares and Ruin also worth checking out if you like the mathcorey aspects of Hollow Crown. They have quite a history of bouncing back and forth between soft and heavy for over a decade. I really welcome the experimentation, and they always come back from their soft periods with awesome heavies and often write great super softies on their heavier albums too. Overall softer albums are The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit, The Here and Now, and For Those That Wish to Exist, the latter being the best of their softer albums imo, with some of their best softies on it. Favourite super softy is Unbeliever from Daybreaker, though. Daybreaker is the perfect mix of the best of their heavy and their soft, going to both ends of the spectrum, with gorgeous lyrics too, my personal fave, and These Colours Don’t Run is one of their most iconic songs. They have a fantastic range. Holy Hell is perfect if you like great heavies with some catchiness and pretty melodies. They’ve been through a difficult time with the passing of their lead songwriter, guitarist and drummer Dan’s twin, Tom, and a lot of their work in the years leading up to, and after, his passing has been about his and their struggles, and coming to terms with it, so they’ve also been finding their feet without him, which people have used as ammunition against them with their recent sound changes. Which is part of what this song is about. I hope you find some more stuff of theirs you enjoy!
Check out “Grave digger”, “these colours don’t run”, “broken cross”, or literally anything off of their album “All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us” that’s a masterpiece of an album. Everything I listed is super heavy.
They were definitely heavier than this. The last 2 albums were very experimental, especially the last album, which was the softest the ever went. This is certainly a return to their mix of heavy, and amazing clean vocals.
Apart from their two most recent albums, all of their albums up until Holy Hell are much heavier. they've gotten a ton of hate for having a softer sound recently but imo their newer work is still really good. Would definitely recommend listening to some of their older songs if you enjoyed seeing red.
If you like the gojira slide, you should probably check out gojira! Silvera or Stranded is some of their more mainstream stuff but there's plenty to delve into. They're live versions are great as well. Check out "Pray" extended version to get a feel for their performances live, or "where dragons dwell Hellfest"
Check out songs off the all our gods have abandoned us album great album hands down my all time favorite this song kinda goes back to that style with a their newer style and it sounds amazing 🤘🏼
Loved architects forever, this song is basically a big fuck you to the people that were complaining they weren’t heavy anymore. Just read the lyrics it’s all aimed towards fans
I feel like its more specific than that, it's aimed right at r/metalcore
Fun thing about this is that it was made to shut up the haters. Like in their thumbnail even, you can see the "are you happy now". The previous 3 albums were a little soft for some so they bashed them. THIS, is HEAVY!
holy hell hasnt soft
Broken cross - architects, guarantee goosebumps during that!
I think the guitar sound you are talking about is called "Gojira pick scrape". They made it popular and many bands kinda adopted it to their sound
Thank you for this!! I never know what to call it lol - Audrey
Saw them last week in Belgium. It was awesome. He sounds just as good live
Definitely check out more architects. They were heavy in the older days until their guitarist passed from cancer. He was the main song writer and they just tried to have fun writing again. Check out Doomsday, I believe it was the first single after Tom's passing.

That is very sad that fans would do that to them when they were just trying. Thank you for the feedback! - Audrey
Will be a cool concert. Seeing them both on the 29th, can NOT wait. Love the reaction :)
Check out the whole album All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us, goosebumps and heaviness guaranteed, so much emotion on that one cause it was Tom’s (founding guitarist and Dan’s brother) last album before he sadly passed away

Softer? Right 😂😂😂😂
Pls react to architects for me royal beggars and modern misery best songs
They are also compared a lot to, ‘Bring Me The Horizon,’ but I just can’t get into that group. I feel I find Architects to be more likable, musically.
