You and Pam keep going and you will find great items as you go. About 10 years ago, i found a large glass vase in a little shop for 6.00. I purchased it because it had 2 names etched on the bottom that i knew was Italian. When i got home, i did some research, found out the names were Murano Vernini and listed it as auction. I had a guy email me and ask me to sell it for 1000.00. I said no it was going to go to the 7 day auction. then he told me that he deals in Italian glass from 1930s to 1965s. It was not in any of his books, meaning it was one of a kind. He said i was going to make good money on it and to keep it on. Besides a man calling me from Italy twice and an email from Sweden for 2600.00. I ended up selling this vase for 5500.00 to a gallery in New York. So you and Pam can get there. Love you guys.
@@shawnblevins2138 I used to have a picture on my old pc. But didnt copy the pictures when i got my new pc. The vase looked like a big funnel. the top part was clear glass with some designs going down. the bottom was green and looked like a bunch of round green balls all put together in a circlefor the base. It was ugly for sure. I never would have purchased it, but i had a feeling about the etched names on the bottom.
@@shawnblevins2138 Thanks Shawn, i have been doing eBay for quite a few years now. Sell a lot of things for 24.95, but i have sold for lots more every once in awhile. And sometimes cheaper. I try not to pay for shipping unless it is very light and small. Went to an auction year ago, won a flat of lighters. In the box with the lighters was a police badge. Researched and found out it was an antique badge from a constable in Connecticut. It was before they had Policemen. Sold it for over 400. Every once in awhile i hit on something really good. :)
One of the very first things my husband and I bought for eBay resale was a Boehm bird figure. We got it at a local auction for $5 plus a 50 cent premium and sold it for $580 dollars. I guess no one else at the auction knew what it was either. That was 12 years ago and I haven't come across another out in the wild. What a thrill for you guys!
I sell stuff on-line to, When you get ready to ship that expensive bird figurine you need to pack it in foam, surrounding all parts including the branches. It must be packed so it doesn't move in the box. You can use bubble wrap, but foam is highly recommended. Get a double walled box too.. Write fragile handle with care all over the box. If you haven't sold it already.. Take care!
The bird sells for around $300 in pristine shape, but even the slightest damage really decreases the value. It's still an amazing find and should fuel your drive to continue the search for hidden treasures. It really is amazing what you can find in thrift stores, garage sales and live in person auctions. The search and thrill is addicting. My husband and I had a second hand and antique store and loved every minute of it and only gave it up when my health got to the point we couldn't get out and do the purchasing. (which is the most thrilling part, after all). We are really enjoying your videos and watching the interaction between the two of you - you remind us so much of ourselves when we were younger. Peace and God Bless!
Get a box that's got 3" of space on all sides of the sculpture. Pack some void fill in between the branches and the cavity areas of the sculpture. Put a layer of packing peanuts in the bottom of the box. Then place the sculpture in the box. Fill in around the sculpture with peanuts. I would use a double wide box for extra rigidity. That will keep 'er safe.
If you're going to ship it yourself line a box about double it's size with 2 layers of bubble wrap then place it in the box and fill the gaps with packing peanuts or popped corn. Fold the bubble wrap over the top to make sure there is no chance of it moving and seal the box. For extra insurance you could then wrap the box in bubble wrap and place it in a second box and make sure this one is a snug fit.
UPS...Put about $40 for shipping & put in the description that it will be shipped/handled through UPS. They package it & everything & they will give you insurance. I’ve done it before & it costs a little more, but better chance of it getting in one piece.
I have noticed you guys passing by fenton glass. Its very distinct and really brings good money !! Older fenton had a sticker and the newer stuff is embossed on the bottom. There was 2 pieces at the estate sale i seen it was like candy dishes that was purpleish gold. Dont let money pass by great channel !!!
I know that you follow Lonnie, so if you watch the video where he is shipping the porcelain disney collectible internationally and they asked him to make sure it was very well packed, you will notice that it was already extremely well packed from the manufacturer. They used what is called "egg crate" foam. I would highly suggest buying some of that and packing similarly. Good luck💖👩🌾
Wow, that piece is so fragile. I would definitely try to sell local if possible just to avoid having to ship it. That was a nice high-end estate sale. That was very nice of you Ryan to give that little boy $5. He was very polite too. Maybe he'll be a future reseller, lol. Great video my friends, can't wait for the next one! 😘
I would like the UPS shipping store pack it for you. They know how to do it. If you do it yourself, I would wrap each branch in small pieces of bubble. Then double box it. Put the well packed box in a larger box with styrofoam peanuts Just my suggestion. That’s how I did it. Never had a broken fragile doing the double box method. Great find! Yay for you guys
Boehm pronounced "BEAM". Was originally made here in Trenton, Nj the old factory is still here closed down. I do believe someone just bought it though. Unfortunately the market for Boehm is just like Hummels and Lenox - pretty much non existent. Also with the damage don t think you will get much more than $40-50.
Wrap it loosely in bubble wrap, double box it. Fill empty space with paper. Make sure its solid in the box, meaning there is no movement when shaken. Good job!
Bubblewrap the individual branches. Put it in a box with packing peanuts, then into a bigger box with foam surrounding the first box, then probably a third box and void fill with packing peanuts. Definitely worth your time to spend an hour or so and splurge on the packing materials. Protect your profit!
You have no idea how happy I am that you have to ship it and not me. I had to ship a Capodimonte centerpiece once...and I mean something that fragile once. It already had some damage just like the piece you have because all you have to do is look at it and something falls off. I told her to get rid of it at our next garage sale or throw it in the trash and she sold it on ebay anyway. Despite my best packing efforts over 2 days of trying to immobilize it, the damn thing still showed up with a little additional damage at the other end and we wound up losing money on the deal because we had to compensate the buyer heavily. The girlfriend that bought it and insisted it was a bargain when she got it blamed me for the shipping damage and I blamed her for buying something that fragile expecting anybody could ship it safely. It wasn't our only disagreement, but she sure brought that up every time we argued. To let you know how that story ended...I probably hadn't even thought about her for at least 10 years...meaning that was 15 years ago when it actually happened. Flip that kind of stuff local or ship at your own peril.
I've sold a couple of high-end porcelain figurines in my reselling adventures, gently and generously wrap in toilet paper (seriously) then gently bubble wrap the wad and place it in a box, then float that box with packing paper in another box also the damage can greatly effect the value, search terapeak and beyond if you have access for sold comps & definitely turn on offers
Get a box a little larger than thr figurine, fill box with Styrofoam beads (not too snug) and seal box. Put in a larger box surrounded with Styrofoam peanuts.
Not sure you’ll get anywhere near those listings with that damage ... and as you are well aware, asking price isn’t sold price, anyway. Might try to grab $50 on marketplace and you get your money back and don’t have to worry about shipping
Yes, shipping delicate porcelain and glass items are very difficult. On August 4 I sold a Lalique France Large Champs Elysees Leaf Form Centrepiece Glass Bowl for 610.00 plus shipping. Look up the comps for that one! Mine had a chip on one of the leaves. Just take your time and gently wrap strips of padding around the branches, bird wings, etc. Keep adding strips of padding until the piece is covered well. Then bubble wrap very thickly. Then place in a box, fill the voids, then place in a larger box with padding all around the inner box.
Jim Beam made some awesome decanters. Some are milk glass. My mom collects them. The original 'I Dream of Jeannie' bottle was a Jim Beam bottle that they modified. There was one for for the black and white version and one for the colorized version. Barbra Eden sold one of them a few years ago for beau coup money.
I wish you good luck with your Boehm figurine. The damage will unfortunately. probably knock half the price off. Collectors like perfection. Check out Lonnies 'how to ship' fragile items, he's the master :)
Here's my idea of shipping. Get a box that is a little bigger than the item. Surround the whole inner box with styrofoam, then -- - here is the brilliant, but expensive part -- fill all the gaps within sand. You can get a 5 or 10 lb. Bag for cheap at a Lowe's etc.. of course shipping cost will be high. LMK. DON
Agreed. He needs more experience to understand how fast damage destroys the value. A small damage, even a glued on part can reduce the value 80% or more.
I used to buy ceramic and porcelain figures. If I found a piece worth $100 new without damage but it had 1 minor chip it sat and sat until I eventually had to sell it at $20 or less sometimes. Someone may buy it for $400 though stranger things have happened.
No , unfortunately isn’t guys . The Fenton ruffled candy dish right next to the stick tree you bough5 was for about also $40 bucks . And you also missed the Spode porcelain dishes . I know there's good money in Estate Sales but they always creep me out for some reason, especially if family photos are on the walls. Gr8 finds, congrats!
At Ryan, " how is it rated "GOOD" or " PERFECT", if a TWIG and the BEE is chipped, I think that seriously knocks down the price dramatically, I only suggest to do a more decisive damaged collectible check before listing it and then have a customer purchase it and they are not happy with the product when delivered, EBAY and Amazon are very CUSTOMER friendly services and not very SELLER FRIENDLY at all.
Ah the bane of resellers everywhere, shipping. Anything can, and does, happen to even the best packed items. Double boxing and plenty of bubble wrap is usual and obvious. For those fragile items that can justify the cost, I try to use a heavier plastic container for the interior box. For example I came across what looks like some empty used bowling ball cases that I cleaned up that fit my items well with all the packing material. Delicate pieces in the past I have used tiny foam beads loosely in very thin fabric pouches that can mold to the item surrounded by packing peanuts. I have formed more unmovable molds for solid pieces using spray insulation foam into bags as a rare choice. At my post office, it has been told to me to use labels with GLASS, fragile on them instead the red FRAGILE ones I was using
Put the item in a large box with a lot of peanuts. Make sure you place peanuts on the bottom of box before you place in box. Fill box to the top with the peanuts and compress a little so item does not move during shipping. I would place Xtra cardboard on top and bottom of box.
nice piece.. try styrofoam pieces/peanuts on the sharp pieces and around the entire piece then bubble wrap/shrinkwrap you know like the plastic wrap them fill with that good paper in the empty spots maybe a separate box as well for safety. Thanks For Sharing. Blessings!
The toy is from teenage mutant ninja turtles and his name is splinter I looked him up and he doesn’t go for that much but is worth picking up if you only pay 25 cents.

We know damaged items don't sell as well as items in god condition, but depending on the piece, its rarity, desirability, it may still be worth while. You did just fine!
Gently put paper or cotton in the center huge box with styrofoam all round with item in center Fill in all empty space with cotton or paper. GENTLY. Good luck

I also agree, it's from the Ninja turtles. I also have a figurine, I'm trying to think about how to ship, thought about the beanbag pellets. Please share the ideas you get, thanks.
I would wrap it with bubble wrap then put into a box were it will make it snug enough that it won’t move. Then after that put it into a another box for double protection. Also won’t the damage kinda make the piece less valuable?
I just picked up some Beam decanters myself . Guess they didn’t notice that the Jackalope decanter was still sealed . Not sure if I can sell it on Ebay being its full of booze.
Yeah looks like the Rat from TMNT - Wow incredible eye for the Bird 😲 Congrats to you guys! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us! I would pay to have Fed Ex pack it for you with Insurance. Charge the customer for shipping and handling.
The Boehm, with the damage you showed us, makes it pretty much worthless compared to the ones on eBay. It is not only damaged, it is missing parts. You may break even on it.
I'm not sure that you'll get big$ for the birds. The ones you saw for 400,500 aren't damaged. Apparently alot of them are broke and drives up the value.
How did Pam not recognize Master Splinter? Are folks looking for the old rotary phones? I come across them from time to time and some are pretty old and cheap too.

Nope, you cannot 🥺👩🌾
So just empty it and sell it on ebay
this is an old video but packing that bohem (sp) in peanuts would be my suggestion
My mother collected birds and damn near every one has chips or broken pieces glued back on
Congratulations Eric
New Hampshire gang! Ayeee! Truly love your channel!
Yeah looks like the Rat from TMNT - Wow incredible eye for the Bird 😲 Congrats to you guys! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us! I would pay to have Fed Ex pack it for you with Insurance. Charge the customer for shipping and handling.
been searching for those rotary phones for months you score one every vid man hahaha they make killer lofi mics
Great finds!! I am getting anxiety just thinking about shipping that statue. I hope it sells quick for you guys.
Congrats on the pick! Those kind of finds make this whole thing worth while doesn't it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Boehm, with the damage you showed us, makes it pretty much worthless compared to the ones on eBay. It is not only damaged, it is missing parts. You may break even on it.
The bird statue you can buy retail $750.
Splinter from TMNT. Great haul!
Awesome!
At that estate sale the old man was directing back that car and I could tell ryan wanted to laugh
I'm not sure that you'll get
big$ for the birds. The ones you saw for 400,500 aren't damaged. Apparently alot of them are broke and drives up the value.
Wow. Nice find!
love Pam, she is a hoot.
She is!
Love Pam's haircut!
The damage is significant. It will impact the price a lot.
That's Master Splinter ! I paid $3 for one few weeks ago .
Nice find. The dishes beside it caught my eye too. It's pronounced like beam btw.
I Hope You do well on that birds... This is how I will List.... ̶$̶5̶0̶0̶ now $290
I totally missed it...when did Pam get her hair cut?? Looks adorable!!
FYI Guys - Boehm is pronounced "Beam" strange that you also found a Jim Beam Decanter at the same time
Pronounced BEAM in US, in Germany it would be more like BERM.
That’s master splinter bro.
Going with Splinter
That is splinter but he's missing the gee and his cane
That is Master Splinter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Playmates came out with it in 1988
Sweet find
Master Splinter loose like that one without any accessories is $6-8 shipped
you might get 6-7 shipped for the splinter, its missing all its accessories.
How did Pam not recognize Master Splinter? Are folks looking for the old rotary phones? I come across them from time to time and some are pretty old and cheap too.
Its master splinter from turtles back in the bay should have a cloak and cane if I remember rightly
