    Fantastic condition! What a great bit of history: straight from the drop zone to a museum

    Shame it was deactivated. At least it has original paint.

    Sucks that they welded her. Nice piece.

      Yeah I was saddened to find it had been welded up.

    Yes let us deactivate an item that is impossible to shoot again without the ammo.

      Well it's relatively easy to knock up the practice shot (iron bar with a propellant cartridge) but likely done by one of the museums for licensing reasons. Its a shame but often the only option for small museums.

      @@TheArmourersBench Fair enough. But the hollow charged ammo isn't exactly floating around easy peasy.

    • @TheArmourersBench
      @TheArmourersBench  3 года назад +2

      No it definitely not as easy to come by!

      @@TheArmourersBench For items like that... I think stopping it from working entirely is kind of stupid. See also Bazooka, Panzerfaust (without warhead), or most tank cannons. A 9mm SMG, I get. Different item.

      @@TheArmourersBench I would always advocate applying for a Museum Firearms Licence but I'm sure they had their reasons, or this could have been rendered 'innocuous' under the MoD system for non-service pattern weapons (i.e. not deactivated per se).
