I work for a feedmill and we have plenty of these meters on different models.Do you have an example about the bucket test, thanks

Hi Ever. Please see the answer below from one of our product managers:
A bucket test is a term for an informal test procedure of the accuracy of a flowmeter. It is typically performed by:
      1. Resetting the flowmeter's totalizer.
      2. Diverting flow through a flowmeter and to some vessel in which the media is captured. The vessel can either be filled to a known volumetric quantity or the vessel and fluid can be weighed on a scale (with the weight of the vessel subtracted) to find the quantity of fluid that passed through the meter.
      3. Comparing the captured quantity to the totalizer of the flowmeter.
Generally speaking, the longer the duration of the test, the more likely the results will be accurate. Having said that, flow rates should not be made artificially low simply to extend the test. If you find a repeated discrepancy between your flowmeter and multiple bucket tests, you should contact your local Endress+Hauser service organization for support.
Bucket tests are subject to a number of errors (e.g. volume/mass retained in the pipe after the flowmeter but not captured in the vessel, uncertainty of scales/tolerance of capturing vessel, insufficient test time, etc.). Therefore, a bucket test might be used as an informal accuracy check if a flowmeter's performance is in doubt, but it should never be used to replace calibrations performed by organizations accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, especially in safety critical applications.
I hope this helps! Thanks for the question.
