As a graduating student, I am going to have my first - in my-life interview with medical ICU, tomorrow... thank you for this video... may be, I would be able to sleep at night:-) Your kind voice made me feeling like "you are welcome, you can do it!".

Thank you posting this very much appreciated I find Fascinating that every Patient is different. back 2 months ago I was a Patient in both the PICU and the adult unit for a burst appendix I was transferred from one hospital to another and went through one of 2 surgeries the same night I ended having 2 drains put in because we thought the infection was gone the first time around but when my nurse took the first one out I started feeling the same symptoms a day or two after plus I have 2 shunt tubes one of which was Externalized because of the infection. The surgeon that did my surgery that night she was worried about the infection getting into my brain. I spent my 28th birthday in the PICU I really miss the nurses that I had and I miss the view of the helicopter and pad and the river. I was transferred to the first floor 2 and a half weeks in and that Sunday night the night nurse came to me and said that I was getting moved back up to the PICU that made night and my week I loved it up there it was nice and quiet. I've decided to go back to school to start out as a phlebotomist and then lab tech my ultimate goal is to become a RN I was thinking about going from lab tech to medical assistant to CNA and then RN but I've had a voice in my head telling me to skip the medical assistant and go CNA then RN I have a friend that's trying to talk me into becoming a CRNA my ultimate goal is also work in a hospital I want to work in both the PICU and the adult unit ICU.
Do phlebotomy and have at least 2-3 years experience CNA work so you become familiar how to care for patient bedside and build up communication skills while going to RN school orotram

Are people ok with male nurse ? Because I play with idea of me working in a hospital but ... I am a man And well to be a doctor is at least 12 years or so....
Need more male nurses. Many men would feel more comfortable with a male nurse or cna for intimate area care. Just like women many men are modest and many will not get medical treatment because of the humiliation by female staff. I say humiliation from many experiences. Another disciptive should be sexual abuse since female was denied but forced exposure.
I see it is 7 months since you posted the question, however; there is no reason whatsoever that a man should not consider nursing as a career as the stereotype of a nurse been female has long past. Indeed I would go so far as to say that in general male nurses are more dedicated and are more likely to become nurse specialists because men don't have many of the family constraints which women have and are prepared to put in a 70 hour weeks without hesitation to advance their careers. I'm just editing this to add -> you are 100% guaranteed employment when qualified and the remuneration is quite good.

Excellent, Confused about Oxygen tubing with ventilator tubing
That is not oxygen tubing, it is a sensor line to sense pressures, tidal volume delivered etc.
thank you so much your video was so helpful :)

Arterial pressure....Art.Line.
how about the tudor.....
That is not a central monitor...its patient monitor...central monitor is another thing.
What about end tidal volume? Etco2?
It is a Very important To check in patience with meccanical ventilation.
@@YouStillNeedToSleep Loredan you want her to spoon feed, infact she is did it for students not people like you
She didn't go over that because this was a quick introduction video and wasn't meant to be in depth.
