The game of Basketball has been my passion since I was 5 years old. I grew up as a kid watching my dad's recorded VHS tapes of playoff games through the 70s and 80s, and collected all the Basketball cards. Something about the game and what it represents just hooked me from a very young age.
My love for the game only continues to grow as time goes on. I love studying and analyzing the game, with an unbiased perspective. Feel free to subscribe, follow me on social media, and celebrate this amazing game and it's rich history with me!
I post videos every week on NBA history, predictions, hypothetical scenarios and current NBA topics.

McGrady said he could average 40 in today's game... thoughts?
Probably could just look at harden averaging 36
True, also on 38% shooting. Just wait until Harden actually starts MAKING his shots. lol. Dudes averaging 45 then.
Very easily. TMac in his prime could do ANY THING.
Facts
@Tod Wilkinson TMac's FG % in those years were 48% and 41%. He was carrying the team as Grant Hill played only 29 games in 2003 and sat out 2004.
That's a sick man.
13 points in 35 seconds. Most people don't get 13 points in 35 minutes.
bruh.. you make me spit my water on how true that shit is xD
It was 33 seconds
Wei Xiong and that was against San Antonio in playoff, +3n1 against Tim Duncan, + Spurs didn’t miss a single free throw at allllll
One night he'll give you buckets and another he'll airball everything
you must be a 2000's baby
He could have been the best wing player ever. That's how good he was
Kobe KD Lebron MJ Bird Kawhi>
That’s funny, he played little defense and never got out of the first round so not sure how that’s possible.
What? Y’all trippin

Penny Hardaway was better than them all.
We can only dream a Healthy Grant hill with a young Tracy McGrady.
Court Ben and almost a Tim Duncan. Fk Doc Rivers
overall hill was better cuz he played in the 90's as a star
Yea right lmao
@Tala Okoye stephen jackson confirmed it. Grant hill told it on TV.
If Penny, TMac, Grant Hill & Shaq were all healthy and on the Magic at the same it would’ve been scary
I own a single NBA jersey... Magic's #1 and only... T MAC
I had the jersey and the tmac sneakers
Hell's yeah I'm bron in 93 and hell's yes tmac dats all I wore in middle school
Lmao I have 2, tmac magic and olajuwon!
dude thats exactly my case, hahaha.
He was a great scorer and he was unselfish how can you not like this guy😍😍😍🐨
He was very, very selfish
@@armandodelossantos736 no no he wasn't just cause he wanted his own team?
@@armandodelossantos736 why would u say very very
He missed the playoffs multiple yrs ... in the east... and the yr his team went to wcf he was injured for the playoffs
I always find it weird how people say he was selfish. Look at his assists on the magic and that’s with the poor cast he had with him. If he was selfish, his assists would go down by say 2 or 3 and he’d average and extra idk 6 points. Imagine that Tmac averaging 38 in an era where defense was the running point. If you watch his games, the commentators never called him selfish he was always praised for being the opposite that’s why I don’t get why people call him that 😂
TMac was never underrated. He just had shitty luck with health. I distinctively remember when I was in high school, the argument was Kobe or TMac.
LEGIT
Nah he is underrated. If people can talk about the goat and put Kobe in the conversation then obviously Mac shud be in there. He was better than lebron and Kobe on offense and played better defense.
@@BoogieMills he didn't play better Defense than neither and he not better than neither on offense
@@brandonthomas4838 I disagree. U have an arguement for Kobe but Lebron no. Lebron is a great all around player. But when u target one specific area like scoring or man to man defense he's not up their with them. If u say he is then Giannis is a better scorer than Lebron cause Lebron scored most his baskets in the paint same as him but Giannis does it better . His game has changed now with more midrange shots but he still not as good as them. Unfortunately Mac's career was cut short. But if u actually watched him back then he made it look easy. He actually dunked on shot blockers. Proved that No defender can guard him and defended the teams best offensive player. Lebron is great. Kobe is great. Mac belongs in the convo. If he hadn't got injured that year the Rockets took the Lakers to 7 without a doubt I'm sure they wud have advanced and won the chip. Mac never had a team as good as Kobe's teams except for that year maybe. And Lebron had better teams than both of them. Either way as a two way player Tmac was out playing everyone. He was unfortunate in almost every way. Bad health bad teams bad management.
T-Mac was always regarded as a ball hog who couldn’t win.
Been waiting for this!! I was a fan of TMAC back when he played for the magic. I remember wanting to be cross eyed because he was.
BronxKing what happened you stopped being a fan?😆
Lol unnecessary
Lmao
Funniest comment yet 😂

T-Mac is very unfortunate with the injuries.. but despite that, he is one of the best talent to ever play in the NBA
I have him in my Top 3 Wings.
right he had the best ISO
His passing ability was extremely underrated.
Yay my favorite player hopefully nobody hates on him in this comment section😥🙂

If they do, so what? It just betrays their ignorance of McGrady's talent and unfortunate health issues.
Tmac is one of the few players I've never seen hate on.
Tracy McGrady was amazing, also one of my favorite players to use in NBA Live 2005
i have certain nba games on disc including nba live 2000 for the ps1 + it has unlockable retired players + u can unlock them by going through the processes + or using the cheats + i used the cheats to revise the rosters that i but in all honesty i'm also glad that after assigning them to the warriors + celtics nba live 2000 has four of wilt chamberlain + bill russell in their #1 overall best years

He was one of the most talented pure scorers ive ever seen

T-mac could have been one of the best players ever. Probably around top 15. Thats how good he was
Paul George and Scottie mixed together. An elite all-time great, if not for the back injuries. I remember the first round exit stigma being on his back, and you can tell it was getting to him. That game 7 against the Jazz (07'), in the Toyota Center. Will forever be etched into my memory. The brotha put up 27 pts, 15 ast, 5 rbs, and 3 stls. And they still lost to the Jazz. The brotha literally broke down after the game when the reporter asked, "Tracy, is there anything more you think you could've done tonight?" Tracy ever the class act, didn't take the opportunity to throw his teammates under the bus.. brokedown in tears.
ruclips.net/video/QyWEwmFG0W4/видео.html here's the interview I'm referring to.
He the only player I seen at that time who I use to think was good as Kobe if not better sometimes
Pretty sure everyone thought Shaq, A.I. Tim Duncan and KG were better than TMac
Brandon Thomas they were healthier t Mac was just as good
Uhm... Manu?
@@brandonthomas4838 not at the time
Bill Blass at that time Kobe wasn’t even the best player on his own team let alone in the league. During the early 00s it was Shaq, Duncan, AI and Vince Carter competing for the best player in the league
T-Mac one of best I still got his jersey when he was in Houston Rockets
I can't find any T Mac rockets Jersey anywhere and I've looked all over
Just watching them, I would say that T-Mac was better than Kobe, strictly eye test. If you switched Kobe and T-Mac and T-Mac was on those Shaq teams then he would’ve won those championships, maybe T-Mac and Shaq don’t break up and they win more than a 3 peat
Long time Kobe fan here (not recent post death band wagon fan. RIP Mamba) But watching the NBA during the 00's, I was always worried that Tmac was gonna surpass Kobe. He always seemed on the brink of taking the throne of most dominant guard in the league before he got the injuries.
Kobe and tmac are my favorite players all time I believe if he didn’t have injury problems he would have been a top ten all time player
He was and stil is my favourite player. BALLER!
Tracy is that guy that could tell you “I would’ve been one of the GOATs if I didn’t have *insert injury*” and it would be true.
In my opinion as a hardcore tmac fan when I was a kid he will always be a goat!!
That’s my guy favorite player of all time for me. 13 points and 35 seconds smh and his contact dunks are sick. Plus he came up with bounce the ball off the backboard dunks.
Ive been binging your videos! Youre awesome man keep up the great work
Never won a championship but he still is one of the best and most talented shooting gaurds of all time. TMac is in the conversation with Jordan and Kobe.
TMac was a phenomenal passer as well. His court vision was just as good as Steve Nash's during that time.
I was the biggest t mac fan growing up, never doubted that if T Mac was even at 80% he could had won the championship in 09’, he was that talented, always pissed me off that Greg Pop didn’t put T Mac in the finals seconds of the 13’ finals, could had gotten the rebound instead of the easy rebound Bosh got over Ginobli and could have contributed a significant play for that ring but i guess it wasn’t meant to be
I will die on the hill that he was the most "talented" player to ever live. Huge, length, shooting stroke, passing vision, tight handle, well rounded game, and the dog mentality to score on anyone and everyone. An absolute demon.
you nailed it with all the superlatives you used to describe T-mac..the PUREST basketball talent the NBA has ever seen, imho.
*McGrady '03:* 32.1 PTS, 6.5 REB, 5.5 AST, 1.7 STL, 0.8 BLK, 2.6 TOV, 2.1 PF, +4.5 rTS% 🔥
When measuring a man, spirit is often the overlooked variable.
Mcgrady had no heart or work ethic
What a dumb statement lol. He just had injury problems unfortunately.
@@zachmcmahan8481 yeah right he had no heart or work ethic!
T-Mac was softer than a garden of marshmallows.
Dude mac carry his team everyyear. The man cried in a interview saying i tried after loosing like 6 series in first rounds
Tracy McGrady hands down my favorite fucking player ,hes a fucking legend
He's my favorite player of all time
I recall when McGrady destroyed "Big Dog" Glenn Robinson in the playoffs. Right then, I noted to myself, "This guy's the real thing."
The prime tmac can score whenever and however he wants over whoever guarding him.... this is just fact
T-Mac was the man... He just had those skinny ass legs lol and was too injury prone... He should've worked more on his strength
Hasaan Seales He is genetically lean. He hit the weights heavy, through out his career.
He has a disorder causing most of his injuries. Forgot the name of it.

IDK who has the sadder story. T-Mac or D-Rose. I'd be bold enough to say T-Mac was a taller Kobe and D-Rose was an upgraded Russel Westbrook.
T mac was amazing this shouldn't even be up for judgement
Unfortunately, and it seems rather cliche as it was basically the theme of the video, but it’s impossible to rank T-Mac historically with any sort of accuracy. Lots of players had great stretches through a few years. Hell, Isiah Thomas was an MVP candidate less than 5 years ago. We just don’t know if that prime form would have maintained, fell off, or, and this is a theory which is just as plausible but rarely discussed, it’s possible he could have ascended to unknown heights. Think about it. Yao Ming was a beast but he didn’t demand the ball. Same with Artest. A healthy McGrady may have realistically gotten 30-35 shots a night on that team. He could have averaged 40 if the stars aligned. Given the makeup and coaching strategy of that team, the sky would have been the limit. He could have hit a wall just as easy. Who knows, personal problems or demons arising as the result of superstardom could have sent him wayward. My point is, the possibilities are so wide-ranging, any attempt to rank him with those who enjoyed full careers is simply an exercise in futility. Rather than grasping at shooting stars and wrapping your mind around the twist in vain saying, “what if,” I suggest simply appreciating him for exactly what he was- which was an amazing player and an equally impressive human being. Hats off to Tracey, thanks for the memories my friend, you were a cold piece on hardwood.
The block avg's for a wing player are something else. I remember using him on nba live 06 and just dominating
please stop comparing LeBron James to some of the NBA's greats some people said LeBron James could be Kobe 101 Jay Williams said LeBron James can beat Michael Jordan one-on-one but could he really beat Tracy McGrady one-on-one let's start there.
This make me sad...
i can imagine that one day.. Drose maybe in this too..
hope he have a good play in this season.. since Detroit seems... i know blake just came off from injuries but.. yeah we'll see
サツッピミクdon’t worry he won’t because arose only had 2-3 good seasons.
So the real question is can LeBron James beat Tracy McGrady in a one-on-one. Absolutely NOT!!!! A 100% T Mac would shit all over ya boy Lebum big factz.
I love your videos, and basketball. They really are awesome and explained well.
I'm a LAL, Kobe and Shaq fan but the first jersey i bought for myself was that blue stars T-Mac jersey. Sooo iconic. What a great player!
Thank you for the video!
Please do Pistol "Pete" Maravich next - this legend deserves acknowledgment.
My favorite player till this day. I'll never forget making honor roll in 7th grade and my Mom getting the full Orlando T-Mac set down to the shorts with his logo and socks with shoes which I have this day. Never wore the Jersey out
the man can carry a team to the playoffs all by himself!
He scored so easily and soooooo much he sometimes unfairly gets called just a scorer.....he was pretty good on d too
If T-Mac stayed fully healthy his whole career, I think he could have easily finished top 30 all time.
Top 20 or maaaaybe even 10. The guy had serious talents!
Top 30? Lmfao. If he didn't have dibitsting back injuries he would bee. Top 10 maybe even top 5. He scored 62 on pretty much a broken back
Tracy Mcgrady was a scoring machine ! 2x scoring champ didn't have teammates but he left his cousin in Toronto so who knows what could of happened!.
Honestly.. just a head of Kobe and king James! Makes him 2nd behind mike😳
Tough to constitute a wing. But I'd only put jordan, bird, lebron and kobe above him. #5.
My all time starting 5 jordan kobe tmac lebron and KD. Most versatile players ever
That injury robbed not only him but NBA fans as well! Any sport fan will tell you, they have their own team they live and die with. But just being a fan of great players in general is something we all can relate to. Without that injury he would've been in the top 10 scorers of all time! #FACTS
If people only knew how close he was to playing with Iverson in '99, it just makes me sick every time I think about it. But Billy King got cold feet and backed out of the deal after Stephan A Smith broke the news. AI and McGrady would have been legendary imo.
Yikessss

@@nbafullgamehighlights9320 Yes of course! It's like you say a person can't be the nicest person without being a millionaire? It's about his quality, not the quantity of his prices in his room... But your question, that's a typical American point of view, sorry.

He blew it when he left Toronto his young ego got the best of him He didn’t wanna share the spotlight even with his cousin/friend Vince If he stayed they could’ve pushed each other for supreme greatness but in the end neither came close what a shame
Walter Weir nah bro that’s like saying harden blew it when he left okc...not true at all if he jus wanted to be content and get rings then yeah but if he knew he was that nigga and he wanted to challenge himself and maximize his full potential and show that he was a real franchise max contract player and carve out a legacy then he had to leave.. yeah he might have gotten a ring or two (but idk cause the lakers were jus soooo dominate at that time it was like when the bulls were winning Jordan wasn’t having that shit neither was shaq and Kobe) but we wouldn’t have gotten all those plays that made t-mac a hall of famer... i.e 13 points in 30 seconds the 62 points to win the scoring title... the off the back board in a game (not the all-star game neither) dunk the 33 game winning streak with the rockets... so yeah... plus all those epic battles with Kobe.... I’d say he made the right choice to leave cause as long as Vince carter was there he would have never gotten from under his shadow....cause the media wouldn’t have let him.... you already know look how they did Kobe with the he wouldn’t have won without shaq bullshit when he was jus as important and in some series even more important... so yeah the only bad choice he made was tryin to come back to fast from a serious injury cause the fucking media was talking shit about him and it got to him and he did the same shit kd jus did and got the same result as he did and he was never the same after that...smh...which is some bullshit.... that’s one of the reasons players don’t like the media cause of the narratives they create with no consideration for the players long term livelihood...it’s like they forget they human and they jus say you getting paid all this money and your not showing up...your a bust or this and that...they try did it to d-rose and now they tryin to do it to khawi but he ain’t going for it....so I’d think that he made the right choice... don’t know what your talking about bro
I have tromendous respect for you Tracy Lamar McGrady by Steve Irungu Jermaine
Right before the back injuries hit I would have argued that T Mac was better than Kobe, especially during that 1st year in Houston.
I used to debate that all the time around that same period with 2 of my friends. I was team Kobe, they were team TMac. Miss both players.

lol if if if if if if. ... there's no evidence Mcgrady and Carter in Toronto would've been a championship caliber team. Mcgrady may not have had enough help in Orlando but he did in Houston and still never made it out of the first round. Enough with the ifs.
T-Mac has a mild case of scoliosis dude, he wasn't even projected to play for more than 4 or 5 years in the league because of that but boy did he proved them wrong!!
Well he never played a full season his entire career and that's why his averages are higher than they actually were and he still only avg 19p and 43% FG for his career
This guy is why I am not impressed by KD
This dude in terms of talent is definitely in the top 5 of all time, amongst MJ, Shaq, Kobe and LBJ. In terms of scoring, he was better and more efficient than Kobe (during his 4 seasons in Orlando) and in terms of skills would dominate KD easily
I can honestly say his 1st four yrs in Orlando he was most definitely good as or slightly better than kobe talent wise but of course lakers had the better team but if you watched the NBA in the early 2000s T-mac AI Kobe and Vince Carter were the best in the NBA post jordan era hands down
monster scorer, elite talent, one of the best. But his playoff failures and injuries hindered his legacy. Should've been one of the goats. Dont think he should've been a hofer, but his resume is slightly above average so I can understand the candidacy.
