- Steve shows his students at the July 2022 Total Window Makeover Course in San Antonio, how to glaze a window sash, giving commentary along with every step.
I’ve watched 20 videos on glazing. This guy has the cleanest lines IMO. He doesn’t go too shallow or too thick. Good angles. Starting in corner and working out. No other video on RUclips says that (that I can tell).
This guy is good. Makes it look so easy. About 25 years ago I did about 24 sashes , I was not nearly as proficient. I got decent by the end . Wish I would have seen this before I did my windows
The corners are where I struggle. Now I have to rush off and buy some magic dust! Thank You!
Palm & thumb. That's how I was taught when I was a glaziers apprentice.
Nice video.
You make this look SO easy. I just did 3 old windows with the tube. So difficult!!!! Thanks for the tips
Been doing this for 40 years never heard of the dusting trick, I love you right now 🥰
Whiting? Been around for ever... Just chalk
@@charlievan4877 aren’t you a brilliant douche!
Your teaching skill style is easy to understand and very impressive.. Thankyou 👏
Excellent video, loved the majik dust trick! Many thanks.
Excellent teacher .
Glazed my first window today. It was nowhere near as easy as Steve makes it look!
Perfect timing, thanks!!
Glad you came along for the ride

ممكن نتعرف على مكونات العجينه ارجوك تساعدني انا من بلد عربي واعمل بالزجاج واحتاج إلى هذة العجينه لدينا في بلدي لاكنها رديئه
Glazing old sashes is a nightmare. The old glazing never comes out uniformly. In some places, where the wood is water damaged, the glaze just pops out, but in other places, the glaze is hard and difficult to extract without damaging the rabbet. I’ve tried every tool. Flexible scrapers, heat guns, multi tools, and utility knives. It’s never easy. Especially when you reglaze the windows in place.
I struggled too until I just decided to burn a window completely if I needed too with the heat gun, and then things started to click. I was rushing the heat gun. Slow it down and let the heat soften the glaze. Keep going back and forth until it almost falls out.
15:49 yeah I do that with my shop vac close to me :)
Working Alone, small shop, no big dust collector. No place …
He is so right about glazier points . Dummy beginners like me end up using those gigantic points so you have to make a thick putty line . I didn’t like the way it looked so I started clipping part of the points off . They don’t make it easy for a newly to get it right. Use the diamond points even though they have to be ordered
What compound is he using?
Sarco Type M Multiglaze
Does durrabond 90 work?
17:32 damn! But yes good idea to clean asap
Man thanks for all your comments. I don’t think I can respond to them all!
@@WoodWindowMakeover it’s ok! I really just do that when I really appreciate someone’s work:)
I have much difficulty to make my corners sharp when glazing vertically
@@WoodWindowMakeover i appreciate your work Sir .
Are you not glazing on a table?
For stained glass I use sawdust
It’s only 20min drywall compound ?? Or is it a mixed with Plâtre de Paris?
I was wondering this too, I always heard to use chalk dust
9:46 beautiful
Different way than me. I generally make a “roll” (sausage..;)
Yeah: corners are very hard
The glazing / painting of it is very different than Allback philosophy. Not saying bad or good. Different
What is "magic dust" ? Twenty minute mud doesn't make sense..
5:43 agree ! You make it look easy . It’s not :)
16:57 mask : absolutely necessary. Nanoparticules
Durabond easy sand 20min
been a glazier for over 40 years and this is not a professional way of putty glazing . wearing gloves to handle putty 🤔🙃😂
