Thank you for this video. Been looking to upgrade from a very old capture card. I had an AVerMedia Live Gamer HD (2012? lol?) work great for me for a couple months but then then the HDMI out stopped working for some reason. Used a splitter to remedy a fix but I think it's time for an upgrade. My question is between the Live Streamer ULTRA and Elgato 4k Pro for the $100 difference is it worth the future proofing of the card? especially since I only have 1080p monitors with 144hz? would the quality at 1080p and higher fps make any difference at all between the two cards?
You won’t see much difference as your encoder is responsible for generating the image either on stream or recorded. Both of those cards will do 1080p 144hz no issue, so it’s up to you which you choose. The Elgato has some neat features, if you use them, but Avermedia does as well. I’m always a proponent of not overspending, so go for the tool that gets the job done for you! If you ever plan to do anything out of the specs of the 4k Pro, then consider getting the better card
I've been looking at getting this since I've found a way to make PS5 VRR work on Gigabyte HDMI 2.0 monitors. I'm hoping it might work with my macgyvered version of a PS5 VRR HDMI 2.0.

Hey! This sounds like a resolution issue. Make sure your monitor is supporting what you are capturing.
