Not at all, she redeemed herself and it shows she grew as a person and changed.
Thought it was kind of stupid to be honest. A room full of mass murderers and all of a sudden they're scared of a little genocide. Clark killed the mountain men, Octavia killed her own people, Diyoza is a terrorists, even raven doesn't have a problem with irradiating people as needs must. But no, now murder is wrong, where was that all along. Echo had a good plan, they had a way out, why couldn't they complete the last genocide and get the hell out of Dodge?

Wrong. She played perfect FROM HER VERY FIRST APPEARANCE. Ivana Miličević seriously pulled off by far one of the best acting of the show, along with our dear Alycia Debnam-Carey.

@@rickrack4325 Ivana and Alycia utterly killed it but I think Ivana had a slight advantage since she basically just had to play a modern, yet utterly ruthless, American who always tried to do what she thought was right but wasn’t afraid of killing opposed to Alycia who had to play a character that was the product of not only an apocalypse but of a war of attrition with modern Americans while also being a character who tried to do what was right while being utterly ruthless and unafraid to kill.

@@Thawhid Well in my humble opinion, Eliza Taylor's acting looked and sounded fake at times. It particularly bugged me when she was trying to sound more convincing: she'd open her eyes wide while nodding her head.
Mind you, her overall performance was OK and she still did justice to Clarke who's an extremely interesting main character.

I am very sad about this death. But I cannot be more proud of what Diyoza did. She saved everyone on Bardo including her allies and not to mention her daughter, Hope. Diyoza won my heart with her sacrifice so I am grateful she was apart of The 100 gang💛...
Don't forget, Diyoza was basically a terrorist. She didn't want her daughter to have the same burden of killing all those people that she herself had. That's why she said "Be better than me"
Khandaker Faisal she really redeemed herself in my eyes at least. She killed a group of people and at the end of her life she gave her life to protect an entire group of people. She honestly has the best redemption story on the show. I’m very sorry to see her go because I’ve loved her character this season but I also think that this was necessary for atonement. I understand why she did it.

Hope’s lack of life experience shows more and more each episode. She’s impulsive and reckless. Doesn’t listen. Doesn’t think anything through.

Brandy Hernandez She is. And she thinks she knows everything just because Octavia told her some dark bedtime stories.
Can we really blame her? Diaz and Octavia didn't get that long to teach her the long term effects of vengeance and bitterness. She was child when they were taken away. Then her surrogate Dad gets taken away. It's like her body grew but she didn't mature.
As a Mom I wish that my kids would learn from my mistakes. What a touching sacrifice made by Dioza.
Also Echo's acting in this scene was everything. It amped up the ending twist.
I can't wait to see the next episode especially after the promo!

You’re right, It really isn’t hope’s fault she’s immature. But she needs to be self-aware enough to know that she should be looking to her mother, her auntie, and her friends to guide her. They know more than you. They’ve been there, done that. But it’s like she completely ignores them when they try to tell her something to help her survive. She doesn’t listen. Clarke and Raven spent the time talking Echo down and and it completely went over Hope’s head. Like was she even listening at all to their conversation when they were telling Echo about the consequences of killing all those people?? Hopefully she does learn from Diyoza’s sacrifice.
This may be what’s best for Hope. She was too bloodthirsty like her aunt in season 5 and Madi in season 6. Diyoza’s death was sad but It’ll teach her the consequences of fire and rage
Dont forget who was his father too.same rage and always searching of revenge.

What about Clarkes thirst, she labels it as "Doing what I must to save my people" well girl has made some bad choices, yet judges others for doing the same or less than what she did.
@@Ayveh yeah Clarke did mess up but at one point everyone does. Just this time it was Hope who messed up and killed her mom. Right after they convinced echo not to do it for revenge she did it.

She's really no different than the main characters at one point or another during the show. Her grief and trauma was blinding her. She has now learned the lesson the hard way, like all the other characters.

It was shocking AND emotional.
I was kinda confused why they focused on clarkes reaction and why she had a tear in her eye if 1. She didn’t even know hope until like an hour ago and 2. Diyoza and Clarke haven’t been on the best terms given what happened to them in season 5 and they hadn’t spoken in season 6. But then I realized that Clarke probably felt hope’s pain, seeing hope accidentally kill her own mother and watching her die a horrific death, it probably reminded Clarke of Abby being floated, even if she tells herself it wasn’t Abby.

I was just reading an interview with the actress about this scene. Apparently Diyoza was actually never meant to last this long: the original plan for her character was to make her another McCreary type who would die at the end of season 5. However she got pregnant in real life and the writer guy decided to incorporate that into the storyline leading to a complete change in plan for the character's role and fate. The guy also contacted the actress to tell her that this was coming. She was completely onboard with this scene and thought it would be a good way for Diyoza to go out.

i don’t hate Echo but i don’t like her either and it’s mostly because of what you said we didn’t see her evolve or any change and this scene is sad yes but the part that irritates me most is when she tells Clarke that she doesn’t know Bellamy and i get that she’s in pain but it’s sad that Octavia is holding back her pain for Echo, but overall i would still be sad if she died.
No, the reason they hate her is because they are childish kids who desperately want Bellarke to happen and hate her because they think she is the one stopping that from happening when in reality Clarke has been sleeping with women more than with men which shows she prefers women, and for some reason they just can't accept that.

This episode was so emotional. Seeing Indra kneel, Echo cry like that and Diyoza sacrifice herself really pulled at my heart strings. Also what was Hope thinking? They could have all died in that room.

Considering how fast things like viruses can replicate, I would probably say that any amount would have probably been lethal depending on the population density. The amount in the syringe was probably not important except to hasten or expand the affected area, but ultimately, even a drop is enough to end it all.

I feel like I was more attached to Diyoza's character in previous seasons, I didn't feel sad about her dying. But is an amazing scene! I really loved those crystal effects.

I wasn’t surprised at Diyoza death. Just felt that it was coming, she had this look in her eyes when she looked at hope. The dread, disbelief, sadness and then finality with their last conversation. I’m trying really hard not to hate hope because this will affect hope for the rest of her life.

No. They aren't used to this level of primal actions and ferocity. They didn't have to endure all that the others endured. No surprise at all that they leaned towards flight rather than fight in the few seconds slowed down for our sake.
It was a plot hole the moment hope went after Anders she would have been shot.
If they shot them, something would have blown up because of the laser blasters I think. they said something about it

I think ultimately they didn’t know what they were dealing with. The guards wanted to avoid shattering the WMD. Also as you saw - any water (human blood) would make that weapon spread too. It spread from Diyoza to Anders dead body and then to the door.
This show is sooooo underrated and under appreciated. It made me cry my eyes out over a character that was a villain a few seasons back.

No Lincolns was dramatic and I actually cried cause he was a good man. Alexas was actually predictable but she was my favorite character and made me highly upset i was messed up for days. Diyoza I feel bad, but it felt like it was comming someone had to go and we knew it wasn't hope or echo.

He's not dead: Bellamy is confirmed to return next week from the previews. He got trapped on Etherea. I've always suspected that he just got blown back through the Anomaly. I'm surprised none of the gang ever thought of that

@@WarGrowlmon18 we had to know that Bellamy wasn't dead. The way he "died" on the show wasn't dramatic enough for such a vital character. They had to bring him back somehow.
I’m gonna admit, Hope has aggravated me to new amounts this season (Like this scene right here) but seeing how much she cares about echo makes me admire their relationship to some degree. A lot of her impulsive decision making was made in order to protect her. I’m looking forward to seeing how their relationship progresses the rest of the season.
True, Hope already had it out for Anders anyway but she got Totally fed up with the guy when he said he was going to sentenced Echo to 20 years on SkyRing, and even let her die there if clarke didn't put in the code....

This is the only death, I’ve rewatched so many times. Such a good actress!
She had a more dramatic death than a lot of the main characters.
I almost shedded a gangster tear during this scene. This was one of the best scenes of the season. Diyoza slayed this season.

You mean appreciation for stealing the final season? Like seriously..... I like Echo, I really do. But the fact the main plot is her is what annoys me. We barely get anything from Clarke, Bellamy, Octavia and Raven and it's killing me, even though I get Bob's absence. This whole season was suppose to be Octavia but she became so boring lately. She only gets a few lines in episodes and, thankfully, she got a love interest after 3 seasons of suffering but other than that she is boring. I have no idea why the writers gave Echo and Hope main plots in a final season that was suppose to be about the original characters.
@@brodymunoz3229 I agree with that, I wish to see clarke, Bellamy, octavia, Raven and Murphy more but this doesn't mean that echo can't be appreciate, I mean she's a character with a good development. Probably the writers decided to show her more because we know and we saw a lot of things about the main characters in the past seasons. We know everything about their story. Echo is not my favorite character but I like her, I think that she just wants to be love by someone and when she found out that bellamy was "dead" she broke. Honestly I want to see them together again, all of them, like a squad and I hope that everyone gets the happy ending that deserves.
I loved Diyoza’s character! She had so much depth and development. Starting off as an antagonist but evolving into someone who really learned from her mistakes. She was also just really awesome.

I really appreciate that they made this a meaningful sacrifice death without the whole monologue and premeditation. It really hit harder that she acted on instinct and didn't get a goodbye, just a few words in her final moments. I think this is one of the best done deaths of the series.
(Also that Gem9 stuff is wicked cool Sci-Fi!)
This was the only time that I shed a tear in this entire series the development of this character was great I never expected that I would learn to like the character. The actress's performance was amazing such a beautiful moment it gives me chills everytime I see it.
