Oh no! You didn’t watch the end. I’ve been watching your channel for polyphia and Zappa. Great stuff. I’m a pro musician for longer than the guys in Ployphia have bee alive….ahem. So I like seeing seasoned musicians, like you do this stuff. Anyway, I’m going to fanboy Louis Cole. Just saw him in LA two weeks ago for the 4th time. IMO he, like polyphia, is paving the way for new things in music we have not heard before. He is a very serious and multi talented artist but his sense of humor shows his humility and is oh so entertaining. He does all the charts for the horn players and often does shows here that feature the Louis Cole Big Band. Note in video you just watched there is a picture of Stravinsky that pops onto the screen for a moment. He is showing how he quoted a line from a Stravinsky piece. Anyway, time traveler and overtime live sesh videos are a must. Also, weird part of the night is a fav of mine and the video is ridiculously hilarious. He is a a rabbit hole if you so choose. He also just released a new album which is stunning. Finally, he used to do his music under the band name of Knower. Keep ‘‘em coming. I keep coming back. Thanks!
I did this one for fun, not sure how deep I would go with Louis. Super interesting and an amazing musician. For my tastes, his stuff is like Plini, Snarky Puppy, Lettuce and many others that our super heavy composition wise, but I can only take in small doses. However, I love this song.
if the other vid you saw wasnt the overtime live sesh, then you should check out the overtime live sesh! if it was, then the arrangement of gotta be another way Knower did with the WDR big band is also extremely cool. it still has louis's signature video editing too, though without all the jokes and goofs he slips into the videos me makes when recording with friends.

Louis Cole is great. If you like him you should definitely check out Clowncore haha But in all seriousness, anything Cole puts out is gonna be funky and awesome. Overtime by Knower, his group, is pretty great. A similar type of video shoot and amazing live performance. It's got killer bass work, from that same guy, and an insane synth solo from Rai. A must see!
