I'm currently using TGTB pre-K and 100 easy lessons to teach your child to read... I just discovered masterbooks and was wondering if you prefer TGTB or masterbooks if you have to choose?
Thanks for the review! I’d love to know more about the logistics of homeschooling twins, especially for phonics and math. Do you teach them individually or together?
You’re welcome, Amanda! So for phonics I teach them separately. I just find it easier to focus on one at a time and that way I can make sure they are really reading the words and not just repeating whatever their brother said 😆 for math I mix it up. Sometimes I teach it with them together and other times I separate them. But more often I would say they do math together. I usually sit in between them though so they can’t see the other twins worksheets 😉 I hope that helps!
My son “should” be going into 2nd this year based on age/public school requirements - however he is so very behind on reading and still can’t blend sounds. When I pulled him from school I found he has little to know foundational reading skills. Would this be appropriate to do with him at the same time as my kindergartner?
I will be using masterbooks level K math for my 5 yr old, but i'm curious if you could shed some light on the difference between simply K vs foundations of phonics? which one would you use for kinder, or would you use both?
I have two sets of twins (4 and 1). My 4 year olds are ready for something formal so I'm glad I ran into your review. Do each of the kids have their own workbook?
So nice to meet you! Two sets of twins?! Wow!! Yes each of them have their own book, the pages are consumable so I would definitely recommend getting each their own book 😃
Hi there! My son is 4 years old and I’m trying to lay the foundation for homeschooling a curriculums. So I found your video in my search! I love the review and I love that this Phonics book has biblical info! I’m looking forward to purchasing it when it’s time! Are all of master books christian?
Thank you for sharing this! I have a rising kindergartener and I purchased TGTB Level K for her for the fall (she turned 5 in Dec). However, she is wrapping up the primer now and is still struggling to read and blend words in early readers. I just purchased this for her to start now for extra review and so she can start Level K more confident when she wraps Foundations Phonics up. Looks great and I think she will really enjoy the Bible stories tied into the phonics lessons.
Thanks so much. I have a pre-k going to K. This help so much. Have you ever seen the TGTB Pre-k or primer language arts or hear anything compared to this book?

Amanda Weissinger you could put them together for so much! Depending how each do with phonics/math you can sit down with each separately for a bit.

Yes! this would be great for someone at his level!
My boys had issues grasping the stories as well. Couldn’t pay attention. But my son already reads everything.
Our five year old is using foundation phonics! Master Books just simplifies things
Oh really!? Yeah! I agree master books has some really great curriculum!
I found The Good and the Beautiful is a bit more challenging for us in the science department.
Yes I can see how that could be. TGATB seems to be more challenging in most subjects

That’s a great question, I’ve never actually looked through the simply k so I’m not totally sure - I wish I knew, I’m sorry!
They suggest you start using FP around lesson 28 in Simply K

Raising Nobles Thank you! I’ll definitely get them their own.

Did you continue this program???
no we didn't. you can look at "raising nobles homeschool" channel for what we are using now
I have twin girls, did you get them their own book or were you able to get away with one?
Aw how sweet! They definitely each need their own books. There are worksheets in this phonics curriculum. Hope that helps 💛💛
did you do the phonics book and the simply K at the same time?
No, I have never used simply k, only foundations phonics.
I have. My son is 5. Simply k is super easy for him. I had to get something else for him.
Can you give me more information about the program how long does it take?
How long does it take to finish the book? Or how long each day?

Yes this is a great idea for extra practice to prep for TGATB level k.
