  • CONFIRM APPOINTMENTS FOR YOUR DENTAL PRACTICE, WITH PURPOSE! Check out this RUclips exclusive with Laura Hatch to find tips and advice on how to better handle appointment confirmations and this important dental patient communication, in response to the following question.
QUESTION: We're so tired of our patients saying, "I didn't get my reminder for my appointment". We feel like it's the patient's responsibility to manage their calendar and add their appointments. How can we communicate this is their responsibility?
What really is the purpose of the confirmation call and confirming appointments with your dental patients?
“Is it to remind them of their appointment?”
“Is it to make sure they are coming?”
“Is it that we want to offer our patients great customer service?”
Our motto us #ButtsInTheChair, and everything we do in the dental office should be done with this in mind!
The confirmation call, this important patient reminder, is not just to remind your patients and to ensure they are coming to their appointment, it is literally to help them arrive to your office and get their BUT into that chair. If we don’t get them into that chair, we can’t help them keep their teeth for life!
Our job is to take a deep breath, smile and say “I understand”, when it comes to our patients because ultimately it is our job to make sure they arrive to their appointment and receive the dental treatment they need. We have to understand and remember that coming to the dentist is not their favorite place or thing to do.

This person asked me for help with her english at the office. I din´t know anything about the kind of vocabulary neither situations at a dental office. I found you here on youtube and I just needed to thank you . Thanks a lot for your insights. Forgive my English if I sound disrespectful or something like that. Thanks a lot!! Mary Jo

Thank you so much for this video. I just got promoted and my new job description starting in the new year involves having to make these confirmation calls and dealing with these types of obnoxious patients. Thank you so much for clarity in having to deal with these losers lol

Remember that people are not themselves fully when they think about doing to the dentist. Also, many people are on "edge" now a days. Try to be calm and understanding but confident.
