  • Southampton Model Railway Exhibition held in the Barton Peveril College in January 2019. A very interesting exhibition once again. Part 2 to follow.
    Layouts featured in Part 1 are:
    00:51 Bradfield Gloucester Square - 00 gauge; 4mm scale - Tring & District MRC. Inspired by Midland Railways terminus in Bradford, set in 1950s or 1960s.
    03:17 Stoke by Nayland - 18.83mm (P4) gauge; 4mm scale - David Hawkins, South Hants MRC. Imaginary location in Suffolk.
    05:29 Addison Park - 3mm FS; 14.2mm gauge - Phillip Hutchings. Imaginary location in West London in the 1950s.
    08:08 Fawley - 00 gauge; 4mm scale - Malcolm Snellgrove, Southampton MRS. Fawley station in the 1930s.
    10:39 Bosun's Wharf - 00 gauge; 4mm scale - Ian Corps & Bob Stevens, SMRS. Fictitious quay side on a Southern tidal river in the 1960s.
    12:24 Littleton - 0 gauge; 7mm scale - Dave D'Arcy, SMRS. Freelance layout based on BR Southern Region practice.
    13:56 Brixcombe - 18.83 (P4) gauge; 4mm scale - Farnham & District MRC. Southern Devon terminus of the GWR in 1913.
    14:41 Redbridge Wharf - 00 gauge; 4mm scale - Winchester Railway Modellers. Based on the area of Redbridge, Hampshire in late 1960s.
    17:02 Evercreech New - 00 gauge; 4mm scale - SMRS. Near to scale model of Evercreech New station in the 1950s.
    19:54 Kikby Stephen Wesy - 00 gauge; 4mm scale - Ian Macdonald & Martin Wright. Actual location on the Settle & Carlisle line between 1955 & 1964.
    23:34 Garreg Wen - 009 gauge; 4mm scale - Mathew & Helen Kean. Set in Snowdonia in the Victorian period.
    25:41 Loftus Road - 00 gauge; 4mm scale - Worthing MRC. Based on West London line around Kensington from 1995 to present day.

    Super layouts with lots of good quality features and detail which can be clearly seen through good "film work" makes ALL the difference to people like myself who appreciates all aspects and able to scrutinise and praise, thankyou
