@MonsterMichaelTodd 13:06 Michael, your goal is to increase bicep strength in 90 degree or even smaller elbow angles. You do the pronation lift with a king's move like opened up / opining up elbow angle (significantly larger than 90 degree) in your training and got great results so far. Now, just do ADDITIONALLY the pronation lift with 90 degree elbow angle, meaning with a weight that allows you to keep the 90 degree elbow angles without opening up, and work on increasing the weight over time while always making sure to keep the 90 degree. DON'T do what you suggested in your last livestream, which was planning to do extended static holding of medium weights with small elbow angles for extended periods of time, this will possibly just lead to SHORTENING OF THE BICEP MUSCLE (and reducing the possible range of motion through the shrunken bicep belly length), which will lead to the danger of getting another bicep tear when doing the king's move due to the then (through wrong training) shortened bicep being completely elongated and stretched out before you hit the elbow bone lock! VERY DANGEROUS! Ask your doctor about the danger of muscle shortening due to extended isometric holds in a shortened position, he will affirm my concerns! Everything went well so far, don't screw it up through implementing new training techniques while not fully researching and thinking through the possible risks and dangers of those new techniques!
I want to be as clear as possible with my advice: You should do the pronation lift in your training in 2 different forms, both forms done in the same workout sessions: Form 1) With a king's move like opened up/ opening up elbow angle above 90 degree (meaning: keep doing it as you did the exercise recently) and with the biggest weights possible in this form. AND also / additionally: Form 2) With a 90 degree elbow angle (meaning: elbow angle not opening up while lifting) and with the biggest weights possible in this form. Result: You will increse bicep strength 1) in above 90 degree elbow angle (king's move), and additionally you will increase bicep strength 2) in smaller (90 degree) elbow angle, without the danger of your biceps belly length becoming pathologically shortened / shrunken and losing ROM because of that.
I love that you are in a place where you can take an honest look at your matches. That tells me you are BECOMING your best version.
I love that also, wish the Monster all the best in the future!! He will shock the world!!!👏💪💯🔥
True
Being in his best shape doesnt mean he can make excuses on his previous matches. Because he probably loose because he wasnt in a good shape to beat genadi . Nothing to take from him , i love Michael
battle of the beards part 2, cant wait.
Maybe the first round will be very long & entertaining.
Your day-to-day program until the match is good, there is progress, the only thing I know that Genadi stands out is that he is very dirty in the set up, he always leaves Go before time, work on your reaction speed also to anticipate in the start of each round.
Michael, last couple of matches have been very inspiring to me, being candid about your mom's passing along with your conviction of God being there for you. I would hope to see the best version of yourself for many more matches to come. Lets GO Michael Todd!
Wow, thank you. Appreciate the support
Good luck on the rematch Michael, I hope you get the win.
Talk to Paul Linn. I saw him practice pull with Genadi at KOTT. That was 2 months ago…but it’s still something.
Oh…and Paul pinned him 2-3 times.
so Paul linn knows more about a guy who Michael actually pulled in a supermatch?
@@nickk9593 He means Paul knows what Genadi feels like recently, post injury.
@@PinnaclePete thanks Pete. That’s exactly what I meant.
@@PinnaclePete I don't think he does. Practice pull that happened a while ago doesn't mean much
Good analysis, Mike. I always learn a lot from these. I wish you could do more analysis videos in the future.
More to come!
@@MonsterMichaelTodd 👍
genadi pre injury was a beast easily strongest inside puller
Debatably. Genadi and Devon were pretty close.
@@GregArmWrestlingDevon had all the advantage in the hook and Genadi was holding on good.
@@QuietToprollDifference between a true super heavy against a forced one.
@@jimmyweez2992 a super is a super. His frame and height is supers build. He just juices extra to become supers in EvW. Also pre EvW supers was 110kg+. It’s also like that in WAF still, and others. The best hooks in supers have to be Levan, Genadi, Morozov, Devon and Dzeranov. Maybe Vitaly if we ever see him do it lol.
Don't let Genadi climb, stay patient and be ready to match him center table and be more aggressive in the setup.
I think your rising, your cup and continuous climbing may allow you to shut him down.
I wanna see Michael continue to do well. I definitely wanna see Michael beat Genadi. Most of all, I wanna see an American beat a Georgian. 😆
Good luck Michael! Very very impressive comeback from that nasty injury and extensive arm damage you had! I thought you might never be back to competitive arm wrestling but you did and you look as big as you where when you where at your best!
Cheering for you buddy, Im calling it right now mmt takes it this time, just keep training and improving, and that's a very good point to work on Ur cup which also helps if genadi decides to press like he did with Devon which Devon lacked, and most importantly don't take him lightly and don't bet on the fact that his coming off of injury just improve and prepare for the best version of genadi ever, we all are behind you buddy just as Devon Said in his latest video, the monster for the win
Thanks for the video brother todd
I've taken on your one-lift-a-day philosophy and I'm seeing some mad gains. in three weeks my riser post-devon lift has gone from 35kg to 45kg and all my static lifts are getting stronger and stronger. i believe you will win on the day, your training definitely works.
Rise , cup and centre table strength and then lastly a stronger press / shoulder roll
Looking massive, Monster. I think you hit the nail on the head with controlling the center of the table. Hit hard and fast and get him on the defensive.
Impressed. Honestly, if you can have a practice match(es) with Devon (even secretly, it is a problem to be shown) just to try to counter the regripping/climbing on your hand as Devon is one of the best in this movement. Also, good luck!
U got this Monster 💪💪💪
Hey Michael, i really wish you did more content like this, where its just you in front of the cam.
Your are a walking bible we all know it, i wish you could do more reviews/anecdotes/history, but i know it can be difficult with the training.
Good luck
In a very recent video, Devon essentially said he believes that Mike can win against Levan.
Cannot wait for this match brother. Misha is a rockstar🎉❤
Good afternoon my friend and I hope all is well today and thank you for sharing your information and knowledge , also when you go over your videos it helps me so much more because then I get to watch the video again and listen to you because it helps be be able to pick my matches apart with more knowledge
A couple of times you mentioned him being up your thumb at the start. I remember you saying Devon told you once after you wrestled him that you need to fight more for your start position. Do you think that’s still true, and maybe that played some role in the prior match?
I really like your analysis vids 🤙🔥
It's gonna be great to be in the top 5! Have a nice prep, all the best!
I think with your Pronation being stronger now than it was he is going to have a harder time climbing. I forsee him having to commit to a flop wrist press this time around at least in the later rounds.
So glad to the Monster is back and better than ever. The sport is 10x better with a top 3 MMT.
Monster Michael Todd, good video!
Genadi is the master of the false start. Be ready for that early jump and you got it!
Normally I jump at the opportunity to offer an original idea, but I don't think I have one here. I have been wrong every time I questioned how far back you could climb. And now I've been convinced, that as long as Genadi cannot 100% predict what your every move will be, or you make some huge errors in judgement, you're just going to be way to strong for him.
hi question from micheal does riser is better than pronation lift or pronation is beeter ?
Can definitely see Genadi knuckle going very high when his hand is facing the camera. Maybe fight better at the start to take away some hand.
Just use that devastating shoulder roll.
First of all, absolutely no one has a bigger heart and desire to win than you!! Secondly as someone else has mentioned, don’t give away so much in the set up. Especially with this aggressive, side pressure beast! He’s difficult to battle back with once he opens you up. IMO you win this match convincingly!! Loved Devon’s video praising you yesterday!! I think he’s 💯% correct!
Would love for you and him to get together and train set ups for this match!! That would be 🔥!!
Keep
Putting God first!!
Amen 🙏
Awesome 🤘
The problem is they aren't letting michael do the extreme kings move anymore. That was what allowed him to win a belt, he had the killer technique, now without it he's a top 10-15 maybe butcant win the big name guys.
lol, wait and SEE
Round 1: surprise him with a shoulder press.
Round 2: surprise him again with a Todd hutchings side pressure hook from hell.
Round 3: kings move to finish him off.
Mike is wasnt a fan of yours but if this means anything im definitely rooting for you.....its a different look in those eyes this time around 3-0 your way 💯
Was intense match. Looking forward to nothing less
You should go down to 105kg the super heavies are too much for ya Budd
negative
Tod💪💪💪👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🙋
Genadi needs to be humbled!
I don’t think you’ve ever looked better. I don’t see how Genadi pins you!
These losses were all close but whatever ...because MMT seems different now !
Hand controll
Very nice video from Devon just now. He thinks you are the one that could bring back the super heavyweight title to America. And I think so too. you just have to stop Levan and make him work. We have Faith in you MMT lets do it!
Amen 🙏 💪
Never had doubts about your comeback. But seems in WAL you had the strongest HAND when you beat Devon, essential key combo with your kingsmove. Seems like when you lose your hand, your full potential caps, I think your power levels are good on everything but have left behind your hand to keep up with so much power.
I don't wish you luck. I wish you success.
Isaiah 40:29-31
29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Amen 🙏
Tod 200 kg 💪💪💪🙋
You not climbing at the beggining of this match and trusting your gameplan too much got you
Genadi had a faster reaction time than you in all the rounds, I think you shouldn't allow that again.
Opanaaaa Michael :))
But who has the better beard? 😅
beat Levan?? ummm yeah no
Round 1 you have to foul
Good luck Michael! This will be your toughest test. Genadi is a bad dude!
Tod will win 100%
4 wins in a row would be a massive check on the list
You and Genadi have some of the greatest heart and endurance to just keep going somehow
Michael is gonna win this time, mark my words.
I think so too. Genadi's arm power is a fundamental part of his game, and it's probably going to not as good as before die to the injury
I think Genadi will gas out against this new MT
Agreed
@oceanwaves83 Ehh he didn't really gas against Devon.
Damn , we have guys that see the future. I will mark this comment and come back to it after the match.
Michael, I feel this will be your biggest win to date. Great to use your past mistakes as a lesson learned. Your determination, new Strength and heart of a lion, you will be victorious!!!
This is best chance of beating Genadi as he is coming back from bicep injury.Very difficult to come back in this sport whether you are coming back from injury or long time hiatus.I think Genadi should not accept this match as Micheal is looking very good,he should pull some lower ranked athletes
Both are coming back from injuries 😂
@@Justlookingaround19Totally different, the first match coming back is always the most critical one, both for physical and mental reasons, and Mike have already picked some very good momentum after he beat Kamil
Don’t insult both athletes by perpetuating this rhetoric. Genadi is a grown man if he decides he’s ready then he’s ready. If he loses it’s because he wasn’t the better athlete that day. It’s insulting to both athletes to diminish their hard work and training to an excuse.
Isn't Todd not long coming back from major nerve damage and bone deformation surgery!? Pretty sure it required far more intensive treatment and recovery than a simple bicep injury.
Todd already have 3 matches post surgery. His win against Kamil would have given him the psychological edge over Genadi.Genadi that won against Devon for me the number 3 guy in the world only behind Levan and current Vitaly.Genadi did the same mistake after taking match against Ermes right after the injury and lost. That is why Genadi should be cautious of taking match against Todd
Michael, I'm sure you are aware of this, but you should really work on your set up. That first round in the strap Genadi's position was looking super dominant before the go had even happened. You allow your opponents to get away with too much in the set up
Totally agree, Michael never fights for setup
@@dstonegaming5603He said that himself already. He should ask for some help with Travis or Devon, they're basically the GOATS of the set up
Nyc video keep reviewing old videos like this ❤
New York city?
I’d say don’t give away so much of your numbers, training program and where you’re at… you’re giving the opponent all the targets to overcome. I think a thing that Devon does well is only giving partial info so the opponents never really know where he is at. Besides that you already noted that you need to climb and improve your position during the match and as others have stated you need to improve your set up for example being posted higher and maybe talking before the match about being able to get a tighter strap… in fact I wouldn’t have mentioned that in this video and would have pushed on that behind the scenes.
Wishing you all the best.
You gonna train with Brian Shaw at some point?
I'm sure, but right now my focus is on my goals
next time the loser shaves the beard
This is the real MMT. No delusions or whatever. Honest open takes. Open to constructive criticism. I have no doubts that he'll be at Genadi this time around and will be a legit contender for Levan.
*beat. Not be at. I can't figure out how to edit comments on here.
You got this MMT i cant wait for the match God Bless💪🏼👊🏼💯🙏🏼
3-1 in a war is my guess
No quit in either guy. This will be awesome!
You have been through a tough time, i know all too well about living through tough times.
Also you openly declare you follow Our Lord Jesus Christ, so I will always root for you win or lose
You got this man!
Much appreciated!
I don’t care what anybody says… REMATCH MUST HAPPEN.
It is. Nov 2. East vs West 15
I doubt genadi is 'stronger' than your last opponent , so
just keep working on those "small" movements & improvements (the Rise - hand - wrist)
what makes devon a monster is "not" the biggest lifts or squats or press etc.. ;
he's mastered the 'small movements' & strength of Hand
and On TABLE Movements u need to be great! ;
the system he used to go thru Dave,.. then Ermes,.. then DENIS In dominant fashion.. i have 0 doubt he would have crushed genadi had that taken place... ;
if u follow that recipe "&" get over 300 lbs for 'push' power,. I think you'll get the win & on to jerry or levan!
DONT Take meaningless matches if u beat genadi!
the next should be world title w.in a year!
RUclips algorithm boosting comment 💪 ... OHHHH can't wait! each time u r getting stronger and better!
That was the old you. You seemed like you were toying with him. Now your on a mission from God you know what to do
Amen 🙏
I am no expert at all, but i feel that if you countered climbed on his hand (if that was even possible), you could have won that match, and might be the deciding factor on the upcoming match as well.
Good job Michael we all learn from our mistakes things happen
you can beat GK monster . I used to say the losses you took around that time were all very close matches where you won rounds . This time you just have to keep the pedal to the floor and don't give him any opportunity to get in the match
The way you went thru kamil, i think youll get thru the Nadi too. Not much longer til RIP levan
💪💀🍻
You're going to wreck him and when you do it will send shock waves through the community.
I told everyone Michael will destroy Kamil, ill say it here again, he will Beat Genadi !!
Tood i like you but the king keen clown move need be banned for the good of the sport😢
agree to disagree
@@MonsterMichaelTodd i understand is your game but is very boring and ugly to see
lol, to you it may be
Ya u need be more agressive n smart. Think u got this maybe
I think Todd is the favorite but he needs more rise
Devon just predicted you to beat Levan next year.
@MonsterMichaelTodd Drop your riser while they are tightening the strap then take back the riser after they are done tightening. Of course this is bit of a gamble this is trusting that your riser is stronger, but it will make that strap really tight in that area and make your opponent feel very uncomfortable.
Your going to smash Genadi!
I love your weighted pull-ups
Can’t wait to this match, this gonna be a war
This is MM todd biggest version 💪👈
To be honest with you I think you should wait until after his first match back so that way you can gauge how good he is coming back because anything less than this match your head and in my opinion if you beat him after you just come back from an injury yourself if he's not the same shape he was the win will not be as good because therefore he wasn't the same Gennadi that you faced the first time! But either way good luck!!
I've been in talks with him and his team for a while. he says he's ready. they say he's ready. that's all I need
@@MonsterMichaelTodd yes sir he is a beast whether he is injured or not who's the top opponent for anyone in the top 15 but yes sir you got this doesn't matter if he comes stronger than before I know you're going to win because you're better now than he was at that time when y'all fought!! I just don't want you to feel like you didn't get the best version of him!! I want your revenge to be as big as possible good buddy can't wait for the battle good luck training #TheClimbToLevan 👍
Genady will fall
I actually really enjoyed the mid-video commercial as well. Nicely done Michael!
can u make a review about ur match with revaz
I'm sure I will, but currently I'm focused on Genadi. The plan is to review other matches of his first
Isn't the rule that if the buckles on you side you can ask for a tighter strap? If so you should've been more vocal about it. In general you're too nice in the setup I think.
Also, the Genadi that faced Ermes wasn't the same game that faced you and Devon. Not trying to take anything away from Ermes ofc.
Your current shape seems solid, not just physical but mental also, you looked completely in the zone vs Kamil.
You can ask for a tighter strap but not as tight as you wish, it's still ref's decision at the end
Congrats on the recent win Mike!
Giving Jesus the s/o gave me chills bro. All glory to the Living God 🙌🏽
Amen 🙏
If i could win every armwreslting match against anyone at anytime by using the kings move or dead wrist press i wouldnt armwrestle. I know its within the rules and not illegal but its just a stooopid way of armwreslting IMO
*stupid or was it a play on words "stoop" -id? 🤣🤣
Monster Michael Todd, can we collab
When you faced Genadi at evw2 how could you lift in the pronation? More than 55kg?
had never done it at that point
To hold Genadi like that when he has the higher hand and your wrist is gone, that takes some incredible strenght for sure!!!💪💯🔥
What weight do you plan to be at? You look much bigger than a year ago.
I'm currently 290, right here is good
I don’t think genadi realizes the type of monster he is up against this time. I wonder if he will make the mistake thinking it will be the same person he went up against last time?
