Fun fact, there is actually an official "Waffle House Index" which was coined by FEMA in 2011 after the Joplin tornado. From wikipedia: The term was coined by FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate in May 2011 following the 2011 Joplin tornado, during which the two Waffle House restaurants in Joplin remained open.[3][10][11] The measure is based on Waffle House's reputation for staying open during extreme weather and for reopening quickly, albeit sometimes with a limited menu, after very severe weather events such as tornadoes or hurricanes. The chain's disaster preparedness measures include assembling and training "Waffle House jump teams" to facilitate fast reopening after disasters.[7] Waffle House, along with other chains (such as Home Depot, Walmart, and Lowe's) which do a significant proportion of their business in the southern US where there is a frequent risk of hurricanes, have good risk management and disaster preparedness. Because of this, and the fact that a cut-down menu is prepared for times when there is no power or limited supplies, the Waffle House Index rarely reaches the red level.[7][3]

What you said doesnt make sense no one is staying for their house it sin like they can protect it with their bare hands

Writing name & address & blood group & some form of identification - standard practice for disaster management. (Blood group in case you survive but are unresponsive)

Write your name on your leg! They’re trying to tell everyone this is most serious! I really hope people leave the area if at all possible
It's probably just a scare tactic but still, you should evacuate if possible
This is why I will never live in costal areas I'll just drive the 30 mins to go to the beach thanks.
Nah lady, you'll never live on the ocean because you are broke.. lol, dont even..

This doesn’t sounds like it should be taken lightly.
Don't worry, Florida, it's just :"weather." No climate change here. Florida's loss is the Gulf of Mexico's gain. Beachfront property in Orlando will be very valuable . . . for a few years. Or just bring in Trump - he can deflect it with a black Sharpie!

Really we’re just gonna skip over that insane statement??!
Not insane if it’s reasonable.
Sorry you can’t handle reality.
What's insane is thinking you can survive against such force of nature and not evacuating.
The message is "either get to shelter or accept the reality of your death" and it's something some folks who think they're bulletproof need to hear.
It is a shocking statement 😮
Save the pets of the people that insist on staying.
How do they still have power? Someone bumps into a telephone poll and we lose power for hours. I'd write "what took you so effing long?" And last summers date on my leg.
Trust me after the eye went past Marco Island and Naples the winds are so much worse than before still having heavy gust of wind, the water was up to the top of the sea walls . Don’t know when the tide comes in but I wouldn’t be on Marco except in the house. But the whole state is being affected. It’s really strong winds. But FPL doing a great job. Hard to evacuate the whole state, in the south you would just get into worse weather going North. Go South to get away now
Florida should have the highest cost of insurance in America
It does
Wow a peice of Land that extends out into the sea on either side . I wonder why it would flood
