@@mushroomcult well I can tell you in the 2years watching mycology vids.. you are the only one that does it or even talked about it. Never seen it before.
Hey thanks for sharing! do you think you can intra-breed one cordyceps individual forever, or is it necessary to have a second one for proper breeding?
I'm sorry this is my first ever cordyceps grow. I started 6 jars of Militaris 62 days ago. I went with the egg substrate recipe. With the exception of 1jar of Rye. I had the same outcomes as the Rye also produced but was way behind the egg jars. One jars has bumps near the tip but only about half look mature. Should I take them all at once? Also do you have more videos on paring the spores up?? Thx so much bro!! #MushroomFantasies2022
Maybe a dumb question, but what's the advantage of isolating single spores vs letting an entire spore print/spore drop grow out like you would other mushrooms?
It gives you control to make specific crosses and to make sure you only have one mushroom variety in each tub. This eliminates competition between sibling crosses that happen at random
no need for dark until you inoculate your substrate. you want to keep cordyceps in the dark until you have full colonization maybe a week more or less. for cordyceps you want to keep the temps in the 60's
this is a trinocular stereo microscope that goes to about 30x but you dont need anything fancy. if you are careful you can do it without a microscope but the scope makes it much easier.
Awesome video! great work there’s no doubt about those ascospores
Thanks a ton!
Hope to be able to attend your class next month.
super! i look forward to seeing you.
Dude … Vaseline on the inner lid.. fucking brilliant.
I wish it was my idea.

You make it look so easy! What kind of microscope (I see it's AmScope) and magnification are you using in the video?

I'm not sure the genetic limitations for cordyceps. It is not hard to find other cultures. Try terrestrial fungi and Appalachian gold
Do you pressure sterilize the Vaseline as well?
no. it is not important. the goal is to keep the mushroom from touching the agar surface. the jelly wont touch the agar either.
After how many days u pluck fruiting body, ready with spores on it..

Awesome vid! What software did you use for video in video?
Thanks. I just used HitFilm. It is a free software. I recorded them separately and matched them up later.
@@mushroomcult Very welcome! You're the best man, I appreciate it. I have a similar video I'd like to put together so you've helped me out a ton!
So did the spores fall into the Vaseline?

Hi sir,
I have a question for you.
What is the single ascospores of cordyceps? and what is the single conidia?
How to distinguish them?
Thank you!
It is a microscopic structure. The ascospore if formed in a sack the ascus. Does that help?
@@mushroomcult what is the single conidia of coryceps? do you have images, videos or documents to distinguish them? Thank sir!
After having spores: how long do you keep in dark incubation and temp

How do I need a x microscope to do this?
