    Nice bike! I had a 1973 Sportster for a little over 30 years. The guy I sold it to 10 years ago is still riding it.

      !973, That was the absolute worst year Harley(AMF) ever made. How many mile did you get on it before the bottom end fell out of it? That year was known for having parts actually fall off on the way home from the dealer.

      @@flyingdog1498 not all,my first harley 1973 ch.rode for 7 yrs before something happened.repairs, blew 2nd gear..thats it.but i knew guys with 73 superglides with all sorts of electrical problems.

    That 72 is almost just like Robert Robb Sr.'s bike, RIP. If you are not familiar with him he was a motovlogger out of Bakersfield. He got pancreatic cancer which spread to his liver. He died last year from it. He was a lane splitting fool. You can still check out his videos. I miss him.

    My buddy had a nice 72 for one season, then traded it in on a Dyna. He has regretted it ever since!

      Yeah, both solid rides. Theres something fun about the 1200 - sporties. Good power to weight ratio it seems. Not super big/heavy but wicked fast.

    Its called 72 like highway 72 in California, aka Whittier Boulevard it was the big expressway before the 101 was built. Just a fun bit of information :) love this bike, great review!

      OMG! You're totally right! Lol. I clearly didnt do my homework. I swear I read at one point the name was cause it's a throwback to the '72, but after checking your comment I did some research and I was way off. That makes it even cooler though imo.     Nice ride.ya my first Harley was the 95 883 hugger. I dressed it up .chrome bags. Red tomb stone windshield. Looked good in black.

    The 72 is one of the best looking Harleys. I`m a big fan of the 1200 Iron and if I were to get a Sporty, it would be this or the Iron

    That's a sweet ride Jon! My first favorite sportster is the XLS Roadster with the Ironhead 1000 but this is a close second, such a nice looking bike!

    It's called the "72" for the highway 72 in California also known as Whittier Blvd. Weirdly enough I live next to it and I also own a 72 black. Going to turn it into a hardtail chopper with springer front end.

    Have a 16 has apes raked out with 21 inch front tire custom 70s style paint Orange metal flake real cool paint job Harley makes some nice chrome engine covers has a Frisch sporty tank on it very cool bike real fun good luck with yours peace brother

    My fave Harley for sure. But I ride to much for that small ass tank (even thought it looks fn sick). So I have a custom that I’ve made look similar to the 72.

      It's got slip on exhaust, so sounds a bit throatier than stock. But nothing out of the norm from lots of the harleys I've had. Itll die if I try and get it up on one wheel, that's for sure! Hahaha.

    You probably haven't seen what I added to the previous comment,I edited shortly after the reply(which btw is always so fast)
    I was wondering if this is the same model as the one used in Captain Marvel,it might be,the color at least I think it's the same,not sure
    Have you seen the film?There is a scene with a sportster.Good film I recommend it although I liked Alita: Battle Angel a bit more.Alita is my favorite film of the year so far :)

      Alita was cool man, I liked the wing chun style e fight 😝. The bike is cool too was always my dream bike but never got it.. I got dyna but not much happy with it. Even the forward controls in city is useless always legs up and down 100times per hour lol and the left foot pags is 1 inch shorter from the frame then the right one what a joke! On all dynas with forward controls. Bulshit. ..

    I would put a 19 inch front tire and wider forks if I could the remainder is very nice. And you gave a nice walk around on it. So what do you call this? Flipping bikes instead of flipping houses? You should write a book. I would love to have a garage full of bikes.

    Had to give you a thumbs down. I thought you were going to show us an actual 1972 sportster. My first bike was a 1965 sportster. Then a 1971 sportster. I was hoping to see a 72 now days. I've found an mostly all original 1971 with 6 over stock forks. Actually built in 1971. This guy just leaves it to rot away in his garage.
    I need to start hitting him hard on selling it to me.
