I’m from New Zealand and in the early ‘90s I spent a big chunk of my teenage disosable income on a set of demo disks from the UK that I’d seen advertised in CU Amiga, IIRC. I still have them in my shed somewhere and I’m sure these ones were pink! I spent hundreds of hours listening to this SAE compilation back then and to hear these tunes again is quite the emotional experience! Thank you so, so much for sharing this so that I can relive a dearly treasured part of my youth! 👍
My five year old daughter and I fired this up on my 1200 tower yesterday afternoon. She loved the track with the Blackadder samples. I'd forgotten what a great demo this is.
"Second Elegy"... mindblowing! Still remember downloading it with my old 2k4 modem back when... Downloading to df1: , NComm in df0: and dreading there would be "read/write error" on the blank disk so I would have to start downloading all over again - thus having my download ratio suffer (no uploads equals no downloads and uploading with a 2k4 at aprox 10 cents/minute wasn't THAT fun even with "lovely" 1:2 ratios... 🤣🤣oh what good times they were...❤)

I met Comrade J in the early 90's at an Earls Court computer expo. He was wearing a sticky badge with his name written on it in marker pen. As I recognized the name I thought I'd go up and have a chat.
I remember the first time I booted up this demo... That girl is from Hollywood Poker Pro right? the one with the Chris Huelsbeck Music. Lots of memories right here.....
My preference regarding ATII music turned 180 degrees over time - back then I was so impressed a computer can produce "real" human voice and drum sounds that Weapon-like stuff totally ruled. ;-) But eventually Theme-Dream, Tubular and Crusade prevailed. Btw, it would be nice to learn the making-of story, e.g. who that silhouette girl was. It was so wonderful to learn such details about State of the Art. Thanks for Sharing - I'm Enjoying the music now. ^^
Hi there I knew Comrade J aka Joylon Ralph the coder of amazing tunes 2. My friends and I where also interested in the dancing girl effect :). However after much persuasion he admitted the effect was "borrowed !!" from another amiga game. err we where surprised when we saw where it came from. Hollywood poker pro. I memorized how it continues and realized from silly samples that it must be from Amiga scene production. Is it Kefren's multimegamix 1? No it isn't. How about Amazing tunes 2? Browsing the tunes until I heard Deee-lited. Yep, that's it. I haven't thought this music disk for 25 years and I still somehow remembered this. Great, but that still doesn't answer the question what song this is originally. If somebody knows, please tell.

"Leander" is timeless . So beautiful! The other tracks are a bit of their time and have aged a bit but "Leander" truly stands the test of time :).

I bought demos like these from a company on the Isle of Wight - Newport PD.. They shipped loads of 3.5's. Awesome times.
