  • A lovely evening at the Mitama Matsuri. The Mitama Matsuri is one of the largest summer festival in Tokyo. Held every July at the Yasukuni shrine (靖国神社), the Mitama Masturi celebrates the souls of the departed. During the festival, the entrance walk to the shrine is illuminated with over 30,000 lanterns placed by locals in honor of friends and loved ones. The main road through the grounds is lined with 200 traditional festival food stalls. Traditional Japanese dances with drums are also performed.
